I arrived early to pick up my grocery order, I hadn't received the text/email that it was ready yet, but I figured it was probably already ready and I need to get on with my day. There's no direct way to get ahold of the grocery pick up dept. Upon trying to call the store, no one would answer the phone. It's extremely frustrating. The grocery pick up people have typically always been really nice though and I never had received wrong items. It would be nice if I could get ahold of them though for times like this. read more

Only been to this location twice and first thoughts. I'll keep driving to the one I'm used to over an hour away. They tried to overcharge me for an item and they harassed me about not scanning one of my items. I had 15 items my buggy and 15 items on my receipt so common sense. What did you not scan? They really treated me like I was trying to steal something. In fact, I was the victim. After going back and forth it was discovered that one of the items missed scanned and they were overcharging me. So who was trying to steal from who!!!! If you survive walking through the parking lot and actually get to their store, you should be greeted with kindness. 9/30/25: The ONLINE purchase/delivery system in Tyler, TX sucks! At Sam's in Fort Collins, CO I have had great success with this system on multiple occasions. This was my first attempt using the online shopping option in east Texas (Tyler). No issues with selection and checkout. I ordered four cases of LaCroix waters and two 40oz Folger's coffees (regular order, NOT expedited). At the expected delivery time, I received two LaCroix cases and the other 4 of my 6 items were cancelled due to "damage". Really?! How does a driver damage two cases of LaCroix water AND two plastic coffee containers at the same time? And why cancel an order, creating inconvenience and more work for the customer, rather than replacing the items and delivering them properly, as a respectable business would do? Just another example of the typical "East Texas Half-Ass" dance I've dealt with since I arrived in 2021. Once again, "IF YOU WANT IT DONE RIGHT, DO IT YOURSELF!" I paid for my membership online and received purchases made on line. Went in to the store today to get my card and the Service Desk was not helpful. I had to ask them for a number to call as they could not pull up info more than 30 days prior. Thirty plus minutes was spent on the phone with their customer support. I read them order numbers and provide them info from my VISA card payment. After 45 mins of NO SERVICE I hung up and walked out. Called my Citi VISA and filed a dispute for the charges made for a paid for membership. So long Sam's Club. You have NO customer service. I will stay with Costco and spend our money there. The woman helping me at customer service didn't offer me additional options. I had to request and then she has an attitude. Just that contact would keep me from coming back. You work in service. This is the worst experience we ever had in sams. We can't get a physical card causing to 70+ people to use phone app to enter store. Then you have to log in to their wifi. Stand in line to check out then stand in line to get out. Attempted to get fuel and scan on phone did not work. Had to go to little building to get attendant to use her card. I only gave it a one because there's not a zero the customer service and check out process leaves a lot to be desired. We we spent almost $500 and we were treated very badly. The cashier left our stuff on the counter and continue to check other customers out around us. She refused to put our purchases in our basket. She informed us. I realize Sam's club is a low cost warehouse store but having said that the level of service (especially during the check out process) was appalling. When purchasing $350 of products I expect to be able to be checked out by an actual human. I REFUSE to use self check out when I have more than 10-12 items. They had 8-10 self check out lanes open and only two with human checkers that has long lines of 6-7 customers each with large carts of products. I've told my wife I will NOT allow renewal of out Sam's Club membership this next year unless things change... Tyler, TX or Longview, TX needs a Costco...!!! Please, please, please bring a Costco to this area of East TX I would get a membership in a heartbeat...!!! If Sam's Club and Wal-Mart can't get their act together they will go the way of Sears, Montgomery Wards, KMart and others. I hate shopping at this Sams, the only thing it has going for it is that it isn't the longview Sams. I hate being asked for my Sams card every time I walk in the door and the door greeters assuming you are riff raff trying to sneak into the store, you can't even check out without a card the need to show it to walk in is over the top. After shopping today I went to go by to get a slice of pizza for me and my wife. My wife is pescatarian (she doesn't eat meat except fish). They didnt have any cheese pizza in the warmer, no problem, Ill just wait. When I ordered the slice of cheese pizza the lady told me they were done making cheese pizza today and wouldn't be making any more. They were still making pizza, they just decided to not make any more cheese. I will never understand the constant bad decisions this Sams club makes. read more

To get gas on my lunch break I had to sign up for an app that works maybe 1 out of 10 times and put my credit card info in. Took most of my lunch hour to fill up with gas. Terrible service. I have been a member of Sam's Club for many years. I decided I needed hearing aids and made an appointment. I had the one hour test and was informed I needed hearing aids as I suspected. The hearing specialist showed me two levels of hearing aids and said she would not disclose which was which so I could decide for myself. The first, 128 channels, blocked out outside noise effectively for $4,378.99. The other when she put it on, was so statically that I could not walk out the testing room for $2799.00. I then said I needed a second opinion. Since I still had a Costco membership, I got an appointment for their hearing test. After the test, the technician recommended for me (they carry five brands; not just one) a Phillips aid which I tried and it was very effective at blocking outside noise. The cost: $1,600. The drive of 77 miles to Rockwell to the Costco was well worth the trip, over $2,500.00. When I get the hearing aids, they can be adjusted remotely through my Iphone. read more

I would totally avoid. They sell products with a "money back guarantee" and then do not honor it. Make the drive to Costco.

First, I agree a Costco would be nice in the TYLER area; but we're still going to get the same dismal level of customer service from these local employees. My car needed two tires, so we went to Sam's online and ordered them. The online mechanism told us that the Tigers were immediately ready to be mounted, so my husband called the store and was told no, they had our order but they would call us within three to five days when the tires arrived. OK. So 3 to 5 days goes by and no call, so we dial up the tire department and are told that the tires are on backorder and they don't know when they're going to come in. My husband drives over to Bill Day tire and immediately gets two brand new tires put on my car. He then took his truck down to Bill Day tire and bought four brand new tires for his truck. We spent about $3000 that day somewhere else because Sam's cannot deliver. We may have just renewed our membership for the last time. read more

I have had nothing but issues and been a member of the Sam's Club in General for over 10 years and never had I ever had to ever complain till I moved close to this store. (The next nearest Club is 40 miles away and we have a family of 9) I came from out of state and nothing but issues. First the Pharmacy misspelled my nephews name and wrong dosage on the prescription. Not only did they do this but they where asking customers what there information was to pick up the prescriptions at a distance which violates the HIPPA Laws. Next I drove to the location with a nail in my tire and my daughter in the car with me to get it fixed because the tires I have came from a Sam's Club. They did not air it and would not fix it sad the depth was too low. HA HA HA I had to drive over 10 miles to a wal-mart and the where going to put on my spare tire but measured the depth where the nail was and OMGoodnessss they where able to repair it and it cost me money which would not have happened if they did there job at Sam's Club because it would have been free because it was included with the four tire purchase. Noe I have been informed my warranty on my tire and the money they typically give when you go back is something I will not get back on that tire. Al because they CAN NOT DO THERE JOB HERE. Next, I call for boxes to move because well I am moving to a home and out of an apartment. I was told by them the other day (Tuesday) to call early in the morning to get them to save them. The Security woman hung up on my sister (on Wednesday) and so I called asked for her name and then asked for a manger and she hung up on me. Granted this is it 8:00 am but there is always a manager on duty before the store opens. Called back to Manger at 8:56 and he refused to hold he boxes from the bakery in which many have done so including this location in the past. Also, My sister does income care for a cancer patient. She asked back in November if they could get a wheelchair at the location because they have none for those who need them and those who are not able to use the riding cart. The management team said they are ordering one. Because the gentleman she is taking care of is not able to do this on his own he is going through chemo and he is an elder patient. Hello its April and still nothing therefore when my sister goes shopping with him and his wife he has to stay in the car. This is not fair and is not supporting all those they claim to help. I bought a large pack of ground beef on Jan. 24, 2020. Next day I took it out to cook and found the majority of the inside of the meat was old meat that had a slight odor and was covered with bright red fresher meat. I called to tell them about it and they offered a refund which I fully intend to take. But, this practice of selling old meat disguised with fresher meat over it, is deceptive and unhealthy. Good deals also on books and household items, as well as food, but not everything is cheaper in bulk so you have to be smart about what you purchase. Video games are not always inexpensive compared to online. Prescription program is good. Vitamin deals are good, and holiday items too. Members mark beats namebrand normally but not usually store generics. Members mark toilet paper and paper towels are a good deal. Store is clean, parking lot large. Would recommend. read more

Nice to have a Sam's Club on south side of Tyler. Large and clean, they have big variety' & Takes Wal-Mart gift cards. Especially love the book collections and the DVD isle. They are friendly, & pharmacy with many $4 prescriptions but limited hours, different from stores. Can be overcrowded. I do not feel they regulate their registers/clerks well to keep up with the crowds. You often wait in line forever for your turn. You can sometimes find help on the floor. Family "pigs" eating entire meals from the food sample carts block the aisles, especially Saturdays & Sundays. Nice food stand for pizza, hot dogs, shakes (but boy, are they slow!) Parking lot is a pain, often difficult to get close. I have had to go BACK to the parking lot to get a cart to shop. Gas prices are SOMETIMES the best around but usually can be found cheaper. Have great deals for the discriminating shopper. $40/annual pass. Management needs to improve their inventory on the frozen food's, same old for last year. But over all it's good to go their get what you need and get out an home!. Oh yeah 1 more hit, they only Accepts discover Credit cards, no visa, master card....BOOO read more

I have been a sam's club member for many years and I just keep going back. The sam's in Tyler has wonderful employees. They are friendly, helpful and will go out of their way to make you happy. I have even bought a mattress, box spring and bed frame at this location. The guys loaded it onto my husband's SUV and secured it so I wouldn't have to pay the $100 delivery fee. Every employee at this store has been great with any encounter thus far. I highly recommend. The pizza is great too. Not expensive and it's ready to take home quick. I have no complaints, only the highest praise for these people here. They have a great selection of beer and wine so I'm not sure why other reviews said they did not. I also have used my MasterCard here and had no problem and usually use the self check out lane. Love it! read more

They contract out for delivery and it has been over a month we ordered a washer and still haven't received it after being told it was on the truck for delivery. Once waiting all day on the delivery called back and was told it was not on the truck and would be delivered within the next 2weeks..canceled the order which was a hassel and went to Best Buy. I have found it to be very convenient.At some point in the day it can get a little busy but the stuff are well equipped and i was served diligently. I would like to particularly recommend the food. Pizza is very sweet not too farty and spicy. This review is in regards to the food court. My wife and I went to order a family pizza dinner and the employees behind the counter acted like it was the biggest inconvenience for us to have ordered that, as if their job at that moment was to do anything else but fulfill our order (mind you there was no line in front of us or behind us so the place wasn't swamped). I feel like this is becoming too common of a trend, for employees with a specific job title be disgruntled about DOING their JOBS. Anyways, after about a 15 minute wait to get our food, we get home to find our pepperoni pizza too spicy to eat. I don't think I've ever eaten a "spicy" pepperoni pizza up until this point. It was so spicy that my lips began to literally swell up. We paid $13 for a pizza that we now can't even eat. I don't know if this is commonplace for a Sam's Club pizza or these disgruntled employees went out of their way to make our pizza inedible, either way it seems that somebody needs to be in charge of these employees who act like teenagers. Wow, just stood in line for over 45 minutes to check out at Sam's Club! Several managers were walking around looking important but did not jump in to help relieve the 15 deep line of people trying to check out at the ONE open lane. After 30 minutes of watching the customers grow increasingly frustrated, me included, they finally opened more lanes & started checking out. Both of them looked right at me noticing how long we had been waiting but did not utter a single word of apology. Hence the one star for very poor customer service! We need a Costco in Tyler to increase the competition so customers will not be ignored. All it would have taken to avoid the one star was an apology, Sam Walton would not be proud of the managers. Dumbest employees ever. I needed help loading a grille in my Prius. I told them which way it would fit. These two dumbasses ignored my advice. I told them again how and why it had too be loaded that way. They were too stupid to get it. Then they could not get it out to load it right. I told them to use common sense. They had that dumb look. I had to get them out of the way and do it myself. Tire department is just as stupid and very slow. In my younger days I worked at a tire store. I by myself could jack up car, remove 4 tires/wheels, dismount tires, mount and balance and put back on car in 20 minutes. That Steve manager guy is the sorriest guy at Sam's. He puts the smallest and oldest employees on the cart checkouts and requires them to unload items from one cart to another. No matter how heavy the items are. Need more help at the hot dog and pizza place during peak hours. There's too much more wrong to keep going on. I realize it's difficult to hire good employees. Every business is having the same problem. Too many sorry people expect the government to support them. That's a nation wide problem. read more

It has been a while since I have been in Sam's, but a young man named Jacob Pinkett I believe is what he said his name was, greeted me at the membership desk and transported me back to the 70's as far as customer service went. Trust me I was much happier with customer service in the 70's. MUCH HAPPIER. I'm sort of a believer in if you don't have alot nice to say u probably should just shut the hell up; and it's rare anymore that I feel like someone has gone overboard enough for me to remember it and then take the time to post something about it. There wasn't one thing this young man did that set him apart, it was everything he did and mostly because I could tell that it was at the top of his chart that I left Sam's happy and satisfied. I've been in business my entire career and hold an MBA from UT Austin. If Sam's could clone this young man they would make a fortune. completely agree with Scott B's review 2 yrs ago. we've been members since Sam's moved into the Dallas area, late 1980s. shopped in them across the US from coast to coast. today's non-adventure in Tyler is recurring: worst gas pump point-of-sale (POS means both over there) system i've ever used. almost NEVER reads my Sams-issued charge card. their solution 6mo ago? go inside, have them issue a NON-charge card...just a dumb card, no chip, just my ID on it. I did & that card works most of the time. seriously? carry 2 cards with 1 dedicated to gas pumps? they recently 'repaired' their pump card readers (I was there the day the vendor was working). today it reads my Sam's CHARGE card just fine but will NOT READ the Mastercard i've used at this location & all others for years??? i circled back to the DUMB Sams card. after it rejected twice, it read correctly, and THEN ACCEPTED MY MASTERCARD. you gotta be kiddin' me. i've yelled before but clearly Walmart doesn't give a damn about this backwater store. store manager has been extremely responsive when i've yelled at him about getting out of the store (by paying with app & STILL have to wait in line to have the old man try to use his technology to scan my phone receipt?!). entrances were slated for remodel to make it easier in/out. that was a year ago & nuthin' so far. Max, at the pump today, was nice enough; not his fault their shitty technology doesn't work. most employees inside have heads up asses so i try to use the app when possible...still have to deal with the uneducated checkers when buying alcohol. robotics would be a great solution in this store & then dedicate several stations for the olds who can't use a smart phone anyway (i'm 62 but i ain't afraid of technology) read more
