I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Erik Sayles. I saw him for severe complex TMJ disorder…read more I will start this review by saying I have dealt with many, many Drs in the last 15 years because of the MS and several co-morbid illnesses that I've had to contend with. I have a well rounded experience with Drs who make a difference and those who don't. With saying that, I highly recommend Dr. Erik Sayles, Oral Maxillofacial Surgeon. He is a doctor who makes a difference. He was on time, alert and attentive, extremely knowledgeable. Who also carries the best bedside manner and is friendly, compassionate, listened, intelligent, thought outside the box, thorough with exam, and thorough with suggestions and options to proceed forward, as well as, has great follow up to make sure you are well taken care of. He made sure that I was completely comfortable with all the decisions along the way

I DO NOT recommend this place for anyone!!!! OH yeah, I was told the extractions would run me about $300. Then they found out I had dental insurance and charged my insurance company almost $1,000 and I had to pay $160 out of my pocket as well. So over $1,000 for two teeth to be extracted and he left a piece of one tooth in my mouth!!! I will not be going back there ever!

What difference does it make what gender someone is for their dentistry?! There was one very inconvenient outlet in the waiting area (2016, nearly everyone has devices and for the length of the wait, it'd be nice to be able to charge them). I came in for an emergency extraction. I was in pain. I then had to have an exam, xrays, get pitched for their services before getting an appointment to pull my tooth. I'm not certain why it was $200 more than the advertised price. Overall, my 3 rating is generous.

they are okay. the people who work on patients are hit or miss sometimes they are extremely rude…read moreand sometimes they are rly nice people. the onw thing that gets me mad is their late policy. so school gets out at 4 and the office is further away from my home and trafic exists. they say they can't take you if your 20 minutes late which is understandable. but for us we had to wait 40 minutes past the real time of our appointment and parents have to go back to work. I know it's nothing the front desk people can control but come on it's 40 minutes if waiting for not so great care

So I have to be brutally honest about this place, It's made me so angry over the past year that I…read morehad to express this somewhere where people would hopefully listen. I started going here after losing a family member that was near and dear to my heart, which made me realize that I needed to start taking better care of myself medically, So I applied for masshealth, got approved got a new doctor and... Courtland Dental. Now my experience started in Holyoke offices first, Nothing against the staff personally, They were very friendly, had great attitudes, and were all very nice too me. But I went in because the beginning of my process included removing teeth that were infected and the only way to save them was going to be route canal (NO) so I chose removal and went for partials instead... Now to the part that started this crisis, After going into Holyoke for the gel crap they have to use to make the indents for your partials I went in for a fitting afterwards. Then the offices at Holyoke temporarily shut down but they ASSURED me that my paperwork and my partials would be at the Springfield offices, they were not and I had to call them myself to schedule yet ANOTHER appointment for the gel crap once again, left, came back for the other appointment to make sure they fit... Then apparently "FED EX lost the paperwork"... so they made me come back AGAIN FOR THE THIRD TIME for more of that gel crap... Now I am on the fitting part, but funny thing, No one is picking up there phone at the Springfield offices, now you may be thinking "Ohh, you are probably calling at a bad time." Ok, that's fair if I tried once a day... but how about 17 TIMES IN THE SPAN OF A WEEK?! And some others may be going "Ohh well they transfer you to an office that can help further" Ohh well that's amazing... If more people there actually understood me over the phone instead of having a language barrier over the phone. Now don't get me wrong I did get some people who were fluent in English but even THEY were unhelpful. I have been very patient, I have been very calm with these people every time I have ever stepped foot in that office despite living two towns over. I am now at my breaking point, If you are looking for a dentist and cannot find anywhere else to go, You are better off ripping the teeth out of your mouth yourself than going through this anger inducing process, I am still in the process of finishing this place here, but once this procedure is done, I will never return to this place again.

But now I'm driving 45 minutes one way, to receive the wonderful, honest treatment we all deserve. From walking in the door my first time, to leaving was quite pleasant. A friendly staff that made me feel comfortable, as I am terrified of the dentist. I saw a guest hug one of the dental assistants goodbye when I came in. That was a first. They helped me with my parking as I was unfamiliar with the area and even put quarters in the meter for me. Never underestimate a second opinion. I was told by my previous dentist that my tooth had to be pulled that had a previous root canal done. Dr. Elfman assured me that that wasn't the case. And a week later I have a new crown instead of a hole in my mouth. I'm so relieved. His demeanor was gentle and kind. And I got to see my new tooth being made right in front of me. Very efficient office. Very accommodating to the times and days that work for me. The dental assistant, Debbie, talked me through every step in detail, so I understood what was going to happen next and was kind and considerate of my feelings as again I struggle with going to the dentist. I understand nobody loves going, but I'm truly scared. They showed me all kinds of pictures of my teeth which was helpful in understanding my mouth. Debbie even gave me a little squishy school bus toy to hold on to that made me laugh, to fidget with through the process. The little things. I'll be going back to this dentist from now on. I thank them so much for everything. Dr. Elfman and his team are one of a kind. Tanya

The tooth had to be extracted, and I was in pain over a week. I was advised to replace bridge I had would cost a certain amount, I felt the price was too high. So, while he was addressing one issue, I asked if the price could be lower. He went back and forth what would be needed. He kept bragging how he was the best dentist. Finally, when he realized I would not go for price he stated. He stated he could do nothing. At my last visit for teeth cleaning, a different person than the one I had been accustomed to did my cleaning. This woman did not explain things well, was extremely rough, and never gave me a breather. She started to floss my teeth, and I had to stop. When I went to the receptionist, I was very angry. I was not going to say anything. Then, this totally unprofessional woman goes to the receptionist and says she (meaning me) just got up and left. At that point, I got mad and stated why I was so angry. Woman then says that she was cleaning my teeth (that justified her extreme roughness) and at that point I lost it. She then says why didn't you say anything-I just looked at her (how can someone say something when something is in their mouth). Then, she and the receptionist go running to the dentist like two idiot children. At that point, I left. Finally, I cannot comprehend how this dentist was ever rated number one.
