We worked with Nonn's on a large home project involving flooring, tile, and appliances. When…read moreservice issues arose, the experience was far below what we expected from a company handling a project of this scope. Our range broke immediately and was unusable for weeks. We also had a separate dishwasher issue that required months of follow-up before ultimately failing and needing faulty parts replaced. Communication throughout the process was slow, inconsistent, and often required repeated effort from us just to receive basic updates. Although repairs were eventually completed and a partial credit was issued, Nonn's declined to provide any further accommodation despite the prolonged disruption and clear service breakdowns. The response from leadership made it clear that customer experience was not a priority once problems occurred. We made multiple good-faith attempts to resolve this privately. Based on how these issues were handled, we would not choose to work with Nonn's again and would encourage others to carefully consider their options before committing to a significant project.

Me: "I'm looking for a tile, 1" or 2" square with some color variation through it. It's for a shower we're remodeling." Designer: "Well, we have this marble that's nice. You could do a listello..." She shows us a sample board that's got all sorts of sculpted shapes and borders. Me: "I don't think we want stone. Just need tile. 1" or 2" square with some color variation through it." Designer: Gesturing to another board of fancy scmancy design elements "You could do something like this, with a listello..." Me: thinking "WTF is listello and why can't she just show us tile?" saying, "Really all we want is some kind of tile in a 1" or 2" square that might have some subtle color variation in it." Designer: (exasperated) "I don't know if I can help you if you can't tell me what you want." (I kid you not, she said this after I'd told her EXACTLY what I wanted multiple times.) Somehow we shook this thing off--I don't know how many times she said "listello" but to this day I twitch when I hear the word--and went into the next room and selected the floor tile by ourselves. In the end we went to another place where the staff were awesome and we literally found the tile we wanted within minutes of walking in the door. Bottom line: if you want to be verbally masturbated all over by a "designer" go to Nonn's. If you want tile, go anywhere else.

I worked with Steffen, who not only price matched, but came $1k under the higher quality quartz we wanted from other place which was out of our price range. He involved me in every aspect of the installation process, including advising me with what their standard choices are, but respecting my personal design requests. Before installing in our home, he had me come in to see the countertops and approve everything, which was really reassuring. He also measured everything himself and was onsite when the countertops were installed. We had Frey work on our house on a fairly substantial remodeling project, and I would summarize the…read morework they did as excellent. The project we did remodeled a huge section of our kitchen and dining room building a second story even. They helped us through every step of the project. From the initial design estimates, to iterating on our ideas and providing feedback, to helping select trims and finish, and then building the entire extension. They were always patient with us when we needed more time to think about the project, but they were always immediately responsive when we needed their input. They are certainly a premium contractor, but for a project of that scale, it was not something that we could have ever hoped to accomplish on our own. It certainly made sense for us to pick a excellent contractor who would be prepared for every scenario. And that is what we got with Frey. With a project of this size, I think common knowledge would cause the average person to assume that there would be substantial delays and setbacks. but the entire time we worked with Frey, there from the day they broke ground to the day it was done, they didn't slip a single deadline. Their staff was always incredibly professional. The subcontractors that they worked with were top notch. You could tell that the people who were here working on our home really cared about the project and wanted to make it good and make it right, and they would redo parts of it if they weren't done correctly. we really appreciated the attention to detail. There were many times when I thought that they went above and beyond to help make the remodeling project go smoothly. Notably, they helped move all of our appliances and counter surfaces into our living room so that we could continue to live out of our living room while our entire kitchen was being demoed and remodeled.
