Horrible office staff during my experience being here 2 years. I am changing my PCP after feeling unimportant and uncared for. Dr Samouh was friendly IF you're able to schedule a appointment but..... do not go to this office if you want to call 4 times, leave voicemails, only to finally get them to answer and be told they'll call you back and NEVER do. Also when I was FINALLY able to schedule an appointment over the phone, waited a two months, took PTO hours off work to be there promptly, only to be told they never scheduled me and won't accommodate their mistake. The Dr is thorough. Good communicator. The medical assistant that day was not. She had someone else standing nearby. I get that medical career college students need opportunities to shadow and learn. But there was no introduction or explanation why they were in the exam room. No name tags in the practice at all. The professionalism of the practice is not on display. New patients have to fill out paperwork in person. I asked when I set up the first "new patient visit" if it was possible to have the forms emailed to me or if they were available at a website or patient portal. I was told they don't do that. So my first impression (by phone) was not exactly great. Nor was my second impression a month later in person. read more

I recently moved to the area. I chose Dr. Samouh from my insurance plan because he was close to my home. Unfortunately, I am not a fan of how he handled my appointment. He repeatedly brushed off my concerns. Most of the tine he cut me off mid-sentence leaving me both flustered & angry because he didn't really seem to care about me or my time. Since I am new to the area, I needed to refill prescriptions and have them dispensed at my local pharmacy here. I gave him the pharmacy list of prescriptions I was on straight from the pharmacy. He only refilled for a few months. The prescriptions ran out and he won't refill unless I make an appointment with him to follow up. Follow up on what? You didn't even do anything the first appointment! Shouldn't I have had a physical or something since I was a new patient of his? I'm now left looking for a new doctor which is fine because I've had a change in insurance and he doesn't accept my new one. But regardless the whole thing has rubbed me the wrong way, and I felt like another quarter in his pocket while I am in limbo and without medication. read more

He's shown so much interest in making sure my health is checked and anything I ask for he comes through and makes it happen; as well as his assistants that are always so polite and deliver any message to the doctor that I ask for. I had the same pcp for 7 years. When he retired I was assigned to this office. I had hoped for an enlightened and caring person but instead I got a guy who took almost no interest in my history or current problems. The system is broken. I'm nothing but a number and an invoice to be paid for. Hopefully I'll be assigned somewhere else where they actually care about the patient and not how many patients they can jam into the day. I've been blessed that I haven't had to go to the doctor many times in my life, but I've also been blessed that when I do have to go, Dr. Samouh is there to get me back up and running. Ever since I moved out past the Cajon Pass, I needed a great doctor and came across Dr. Samouh who has honestly blown me away with his attentiveness and making sure that by the time I leave, I have all my questions answered. The staff has been wonderful with me as well. All in all, one doesn't expect to be in a good mood on his or her way to the doctor's, but knowing I'm in the best hands puts me a lot more at ease. Not only does dr samouh fire you from his practice for having a legitimate concern of the front desk women lying about appointment dates and catering to "new patients" over established patients(that also includes if your problem is urgent and you're suffering) but he also does NOT deal with mental health at all, so if you're needing something for anxiety/depression he turns you away and tells you deal with mental health or go to the er. I've never had a dr that won't handle mental health. (Even urgent care drs were baffled that he would turn a cold shoulder to patients in need of help with their mental health) The front staff continuously does not follow through with what they say they will and dr samouh refuses to listen to any criticism and backs up his workers when they are caught lying. read more

For the past month, I have been feeling a noticeable pain in my groin when running or exercising in general. On Thursday; however, it came to the point where I had to see a doctor. Unfortunately, my doctor recently passed away. So, I decided to visit Dr. Samouh's office in Upland. Upon entering, I was a bit nervous due to the fact that do not like going to the doctor. However, this tension was quickly put to rest when Alyssa, the front desk assistant, treated with me with such respect and kindness that I felt comfortable. This comfort was extended when I met Dr. Samouh and he evaluated my injury. With complete professionalism and yet still feeling like talking to a friend, he noted I had a groin strain; instructed me on what to do. So, what initially was an anxious time ended up being an enjoyable doctor visit due to the personnel at the office. If you need a doctor or are looking for a new one in the area, I would definitely recommend Dr. Samouh. read more

Called office to set up an appointment to become a new patient.Gave office staff insurance information.Have medicare as primary and blue shied as secondary.Was told it can take 1 to 2 days to verify insurance coverage.Office staff said they would call me back.Never received a phone call back.Called after a week and was told they do not accept my Medicare insurance.They only accept a Medicare HMO plan.Apparently office staff doesn't have the time or consideration to call you back to let you know if your insurance is accepted. read more

You can keep deleting this review but I will keep putting it back as everyone deserves to know what you did. My wife was having an urgent issue that involved her mouth burning severely. Dr. Samouh required an appointment in order to get blood drawn to see what could be going on. There was a two week wait for appointments. So instead of making that appointment we found an urgent care that ordered the blood work for my wife. After that was done we were advised to schedule an appointment for as soon as possible to go over the blood work and get referrals for a specialist if needed. So I called back two days after my original call and was informed that now the appointments were a full week later so it would be a 3 week wait. I thought that was ridiculous but made the appointment anyways. My wife was telling her mom about it and because my mother-in-law thought that it was absolutely ridiculous as well, she decided to call for herself. So she called and asked the receptionist, "if I wanted to make an appointment what would be your soonest available appointment?" She never once mentioned or implied that she was a new patient, and yet they told her that the soonest dr. Samouh had was in fact one week earlier than what they told and scheduled me. They lied to me. They then made the excuse that it was a new patient appointment. But how would they have known? They couldn't have. They were lying to cover their tracks. I was angry and told them that this is ridiculous that an established patient with an urgent matter isn't prioritized over a new patient. I informed them that if this didn't get sorted out, as it was clear that my wife and I were being lied to and discriminated against, that we would file a complaint with our insurance and whatnot. The doctor called me back the next day and explained and apologized and acted as if nothing was wrong. Did a phone appointment at the moment and filed the referrals that she may need. So I figured, problem solved. Well apparently not because on the next Monday I got a call from our insurance stating that Dr. Samouh himself had kicked us out of his practice and would no longer be our doctor. And why is that? Because he is too high and mighty to take any criticism of his business practices and the actions of his employees. So to any current or prospective patients, think twice about going here. Noone should have to deal with a doctor who refuses to take criticism and will retaliate by kicking you out of his practice for expressing your criticism. My advice, go to a different doctor. read more
