Unfortunately I had to leave Dr. Corey due to relocation to another town. I would give a 5 star rating to Texas Regional Urology except for the rudeness of the front desk. Had I not needed Dr. Cory as I did, I would have only seen his associate, Dr Woo, who is at a different location (whom I also love) just to avoid the front office staff. I have complicated, embedded UTIs and these require a Doctor who is patient and understanding that standard urine cultures are highly inaccurate and unreliable. Sometimes my urinalysis is positive and culture is negative, from the SAME urine sample, while other times the urinalysis is negative and the culture positive. Unfortunately most nurses (and many doctors) fail to understand this reality. It would be nice if the nurses could be trained to understand how often cultures fail despite severe uti symptoms. I believe they would have kinder attitudes toward patients who fail to have positive cultures. The nurses at the Tomball location often seemed flustered and a bit impatient, though they were never rude.. I am most appreciative that Dr. Corey and Dr. Woo both have prescribed antibiotics even when my cultures were negative. Had they not, I probably would have passed yrs ago. They learned, given my history of sepsis and a primary Immune Deficiency, that I must be treated with antibiotics when I have UTI symptoms despite the negative results of antiquated and unreliable standard urine cultures and urinalysis. Dr. Corey does utilize DNA urine cultures which are much more reliable and I appreciated that. He felt more like a relative than a doctor. He is so personable and truly concerned about his patients. One of the very few doctors I have had who truly listens and doesn't make his patients feel rushed. I highly recommend Dr Corey and Dr Woo. The only complaint I have of their treatment protocol, and this goes for most urologists in the entire US, is they don't seem to understand that chronic, embedded UTI demands HIGH dose, long-term antibiotics to clear the infection. When patients are only given 3 to 7 days antibiotic treatment it allows the infection to embed, causes antibiotic resistance and is much more difficult to get rid of. Dr Corey and Dr Woo did prescribe extended, longer-term antibiotics to me than most urologists are willing to do, however It would be so amazing if they could treat female patients with infection just as they do male patients with say, prostatitis, who often are able to obtain six months of high-dose antibiotics., in most urology clinics. Why aren't women with difficult UTI treated with the same protocol? Unfortunately, this treatment protocol is rampant in the US and elsewhere and the reason why so many women are having to seek treatment from Professor Malone Lee in London. He uses something called broth cultures, symptoms and PT history to diagnosis and treat patients. And recently women have discovered Dr Stuart Bundrick in Bossier city Louisiana who is also willing to treat chronic, difficult, embedded UTI with high dose, long-term antibiotic. (Not to be confused with low-dose/prophylactic antibiotic, which is common). I truly hope that this clinic will start treating women with UTIs in this fashion. There is a desperate need for this standard of treatment. So much suffering could be eliminated by using this protocol. I did appreciate the fact that Dr. Corey gave me a standing prescription for antibiotics in case I had UTI symptoms during the weekend. He understood the sepsis risk for me and took my symptoms very seriously. Dr. Woo did a bladder suspension surgery on my mother years ago and it was very successful.

He listened to my concerns and didn't mess around, he checked everything out by giving me a full bladder scan and a ct scan of my kidneys. Thank God he did bc we found a kidney stone that was too big to pass. He called me and set up surgery asap. The surgery was done in no time. I was worried about having a stent put in and Dr. Libby again listened and told me If he could blast up the stone enough he wouldn't have too. After surgery was over I found out he didn't have to put a stent in and I felt so relieved. I had no issues passing the broken up stone. I'm so thankful for a knowledgeable Dr. Who listens and cares! Dr. Henry was a lot more comfortable using more water. Dr. Libby did a TURP procedure on me about 2 months ago and now I have blockage which I didn't have before. He told me I would have to pay for the procedure again, even though it seems like he messed up maybe tearing the lining of my penis because using little water.

Then the lady from his office that called me the next day. Said we sent the orders they should have gotten them. But they continue to use Quest. That tells me they could care less about their patients! That lady too need to go sit in Quest Diagnostic like I did. Quest Diagnostic is a horrible place. I would not send my dog there. Then the lady from the Drs. office said, that just how it is. Not only that, my app. with the dr. was at 215pm. I did not get called to the room until 315. Either he needs to cut back on patients or hire more people. He is not a caring dr. at all or he would do something about these problems! All these places are the same. The dr. wants to see as many patients as he can see in a day. After waiting an hour to see him, he was with me maybe 5 minutes. But this is the norm these days.
