Cesar salad

If you don't have the ingredients to make a dish properly just say that!! No pita bread! Plain toasted bread instead of seasoned croutons! Yellow lettuce!! Parmesan cheese the goes on pizza not salad! I could have ordered something else!! Couldn't take it back because my break is only 30 mins!!

Small pizza!

OMG. I haven't had a "real" pizza in... in... forever! When I crave pizza back home, I order something totally abnormal because 1) I have a wheat intolerance and a minor gluten intolerance so I usually get thin crust and 2) I try to limit my lactose intake and cutting calories by ordering no cheese! (yeah yeah I know - weird!) I'm glad I chose this place to break that particular diet because it.. was.. The.. Best.. pizza.. I've Ever had! First, let's talk about size. We ordered a small. This one must've been a large compared to the California pizzas I'm used to eating! There were (I think) 6 very large slices total! Second, the sauce! It was good and the pizza itself wasn't drowning in it and didn't just taste like bland tomato sauce - it actually had flavor! Thirdly, the crust - mmmmmm. It was a little soggy in the very middle but overall it had a great texture - not too soft and not tough at all and with the right amount of crunchiness. Lastly the cheeeeeese. Mozarella is my favorite and this one was stringy and delicious! The ordering process was a little difficult because I couldn't really understand the guy taking my order or maybe he couldn't understand me and I'm not even sure if he spoke a whole lot of English. Anyway, not only do they serve pizza here but a lot of other things like subs, salads, wings, chicken tenders, fish n chips, etc etc etc. I asked the guy "what's good here" and he says "the pizza!" so taking his word for it, we decided to try their pizza. We ordered a small with sausage, mushrooms and olives.... only when we got it we got sausage, mushrooms and onions on it. It wasn't a very big deal so we didn't complain about it. Good thing it was super delish! My boyfriend and I polished off the whole thing in one sitting!

Pretty meh pepperoni pizza and a bit overpriced for its size. There's definitely better pizza in the area.

Very well balanced - I especially liked the stracciatella. Taleggio Capeletti (7/10): A bit too rich and too salty for my tastes. I think this dish just needed something to cut through the richness. Still really good nonetheless. Lumache (8/10): The chew on the pasta is impeccable!! The chew on those mushrooms is also insane. Texture-wise, this dish was a home run. For some reason, I kept getting hints of something resembling boar taint in the sauce flavor itself. Not sure why... I don't think there was meat? I feel like I would've given this dish a 10/10 had it not been for the hint of that flavor. Service was very friendly and fast. The restaurant is small, but the seating didn't feel too tight. Even though I gave it a 5/5, I actually don't know if I would come again. The pasta was very steeply priced for not that much food. Although the capeletti was surprisingly filling, I'd rather feel full on carbs than full on pure butter and cheese.

I'm actually getting salivating while posting this review and looking back at my food pictures. I get the Eggplant & Ricotta Pizza as my appetizer and the Rigatoni Amatriciana as my entree each time I go - because they're consistently amazing. The service is always warm and friendly, and I also love the music playlist they play. Believe the hype & come to Tonino!!

Based on Yelp reviews we came on a Sunday night dinner date as first time customers. The…read morerestaurant did not disappoint. Parking is available across the street and we got the last spot. The place looks like a diner from the 1940s and probably hasn't been renovated or updated significantly since it opened in 1937. It's well-worn but the dining room was clean and comfortable. Since they are famous for their pizza, we ordered a cheese pizza with mushrooms which proved to be tasty. We also got the chicken and eggplant parmesan which was good but not particularly special; above average diner food. Service was excellent from 2 staff that probably have worked at the place for decades. Portions are generous and prices competitive. We'll definitely return!

The food came out Willy nilly, the waitress had to be reminded about one of the children's meals. The pizza never came out! One hour and 20 minutes later, oh it's coming I got eye contact. Would you like it to go? Well considering everyone else had finished 35 minutes earlier and the waitress never asked if anyone wanted a refill on drinks or, if everything was ok- yes we'll take the pizza that took one hour and 25 minutes to go. Just a horrible experience all around.

I also decided to try their steak and cheese for the first time, and wow, it was hands down one of the best steak and cheese subs I've had in a long time. It was so good I completely forgot to take pictures, and if you know me, that says a lot! It had the perfect amount of steak, the extra cheese I asked for, and it was seasoned perfectly. To top it off, I called about 23 minutes before closing, and they had no problem taking my order. Great customer service, and I'll definitely be back this week for another steak and cheese.

I recently moved to JP from NYC and have been looking for my "go-to" pizza parlor…read more Since moving in, I've visited the JP location on Centre Street a few times, always for a slice. Last week, we decided to order a whole pie online. I tracked the order and was amazed that the driver was on his way within 20 minutes of receiving the order. We asked ourselves, How is this possible? Unfortunately, the pizza arrived cold. That's how it was possible for the driver to arrive so quickly. Clearly, they sent us a pre-made pizza. Lesson learned: DON'T ORDER CLOSE TO CLOSING TIME. They probably were dying to end their shift so they sent us a cold pie. DISAPPOINTED. The pizza is good but if I return, it will be for a slice, only! I'll keep looking for the right place to order delivery from.
