However did not hook up new wired video doorbell pro camera. Have no doorbell. Paid $1,300+ to replace a faulty transformer and replace a light switch. Original problem was not solved. Technician is going to charge to come to house again. NOPE. Will not be dealing with Same Day Electric ever again. read more

This company answers the phone when you call and shows up when they say they will but, will not quote or even ball park a quote before they arrive. In my case, I needed a dimmer switch installed, the very nice tech showed up on time but, did not have a dimmer switch with him. He quoted me and I felt pressure to say yes because he was in my home and had made the call. The quote was $168.75. When he installed the switch it took him exactly 6 minutes. I just want everyone to know that Same Day Electric thinks their time is worth $28.13 PER MINUTE. This is more than most doctors think their time is worth by a long shot! We called them and told them EXACTLY what are issue is. Nest wasn't connecting properly and the low voltage wires need to be fixed. Their tech came out and he was there for 5 minutes. Called and said it's not an electrical issue. We asked him to wait and tried waiving him down in the driveway but he left. We had another company come out and sure enough it was an electrical issue. Wire stripping. Simple easy fix. We called and they said to send pictures and invoice from the other tech. We did. No one called. We emailed. No response. I kept calling and then they emailed said it's not their problem because they don't work on low voltage. So why the heck did you come out? Why waste our time l and yours. Oh, because you charge $150 for a 5 minute trip. When I finally got a hold of someone they said that megan is in meetings all day. But she'd email and not answer her phone. Just not integrity and lies all around. Save yourself the headache and hire a company with integrity who's honest. Our credit card is issuing a full refund. And they get bad reviews. I literally tried so hard to give them multiple chances to do the right thing and they're so dumb and decided to make up excuses on why they lied and charged 150 for 5 minutes and didn't actually fix the electrical problem. Oh, and they said that we signed a completed work order. We didn't. We have the original phone call recorded letting them know it's a Nest issue with the wires in the wall. This was one of, if not, the BEST interaction I have ever had with a service company. From start to finish, everyone was personable, courteous, and went out of their way to make sure I was satisfied. Friday evening, via their website, I requested an electrician to come out and give me a quote. I thought I might get a response by the middle or end of the next week. I even thought I might never get a response based on various other companies I've tried to do business with online. Not Same Day. Ivy in the office contacted me that Monday morning to set up a time to have someone come out. I had them come out to give me an estimate to add an outlet in a master bedroom closet, add a light switch in the kitchen, a floor outlet in the living room, and check to see what I needed to install a ceiling fan in the master bedroom. Ben T. and Jason had me an estimate in no time. Ben broke it out into separate quotes because I wasn't sure if I could do all of those things at once. I was so pleased with the interactions I had with the office and the electricians, I told them to do them all, expecting I would have to schedule with the office for someone to come back at a later date. Nope. Ben said he and Jason could do the work today. I was amazed. They ARE Same Day Electric. The guys did all of the work in a timely manner. There were zero repairs needed for the drywall. WOOHOO! My elderly parents called Same Day Electric with a GFI issue. They fixed the problem. They replaced 2 GFI's , they were there for an hour and I was surprised to learn that the charge was $600. Apparently they sold my parents a preventative electrical maintenance package. Be aware that this company will try to sell you a $600 package. My dad is in his late 90's and my mom is in her 80's, this package is completely unnecessary and I feel like they took advantage of them. I would not recommend them for that reason. read more

It cost us over 600 for 1 hour of work, and all he did was rewire a plug in and replaced 2 outlets that really didn't need changing. The cost of the outlets were 8 to 9 times the cost of what we could have bought from the store. Called and talked to management and she basically said to bad. "Same Day" Electric is a misnomer. I called on a Thursday and was told the first available appointment was the following Thursday (...?) Secondly, do not buy it when they tell you that they provide free estimates. In my case, I explained that a previous electrician had identified an issue with the wiring in my porch lighting, noting that it was not to code. I asked Same Day Electric to come out and confirm the issue and give me estimate for the cost to fix it. Upon arrival, the electrician called me to tell me the cost to identify the issue was a little over $200. This was his "diagnostic" fee (notice the bait and switch from the "free" estimate?) I asked how long the diagnostic process would take and he replied, wellll, I have to take out my ladder and....) He was clearly trying to inflate how long it would take because he didn't want to admit they were trying to charge me $200+ for something that was likely to take less than 15 minutes. He didn't even get out of the truck. He might have seen what the other electrician saw by taking a minute or two to look. I called to complain and the woman who booked the appointment was a little tongue-tied trying to explain how their promised free estimate was really not free. I absolutely would not recommend this company. They're underhanded and their billing framework is dishonest. They ought to be hourly or at least be a little more transparent. Yes, I see that they have a lot of good reviews. I'm skeptical of how they got them and wonder about how they could be incentivizing them. It was as plain as day to me that they're slick and not a company you should trust. read more

Where to start? I base my ratings on "would I recommend a service to others". In this case with Same Day Electric, I would not recommend using them for services and I wish I got a second opinion my fault. They might be good for changing an outlet or light switch maybe, but avoid them for large jobs. I own the mistake of using Same Day, I needed my services at my house and I was desperate. My home is listed for sale and I lost half the power. So upon arrival the $99 service call went immediately to "advanced troubleshooting" service call to $200. I said ok, again my fault, I needed service and they knew I was in a pinch. I received a generic (no detail) estimate for $2700 for meter panel, main switch panel replacement and running new feeder wires to the inside breaker panel. I'm down two days, no hot water or laundry so I agreed. Same Day did coordinate with inspection and Idaho Power and started when they said they would. Then after the work was done, the electrician left leaving an open hole for inspector and they dug the hole throwing the dirt on my AC condenser fins. Best part was he told me when it gets inspected, I can fill the hole back in myself or call Same Day and they would when someone is available. I choose to fill the hole back myself because of my disappointment for using their service. I did ask for a detailed estimate which was provided after the work was done. They did provide the estimate. Here is the funny part, they charged time for writing the detailed estimate that was needed for the home warranty service. I was also charged for a drill rental with pick up and delivery. In my experience most companies have the tools needed to perform work and electricians should have coring drills to drill through concrete. It would be like a landscaper not having hedge trimmers and charging the customer for renting one to do the hedges. But I needed service and they knew it. To add to the pain, Same Day did not provide the detailed estimate in time to the home warranty company, so I was denied coverage. They also did not fill in/seal the holes they drilled in my crawl space which I will have to complete. That's my experience with Same Day Electric. read more

I had a chirping battery in a smoke detector in the master bedroom. The earliest my electrician could come up was next Tuesday. My ladder would not come close to reaching the smoke detector, so I was in a pinch. Called Same Day and they came out in a little over an hour (big plus). I thought while he was out he might as well do the other 8 smoke detectors. He quoted me $55+ and I thought that was pretty reasonable for the job. I then told him to do all 9. Imagine my shock when he told me the total would be $540 to get on a ladder and replace 9 batteries. My electrician changed out all 9 detectors for $236. Well, rather than listen to that for another 6 days, I had him (very nice guy) replace 1 battery. Total cost: $68.75. I'm playing those numbers in the Pick 4 lottery. read more

I wasn't expecting actual "same day" service this time but they came, listened (probably more than they needed to), quoted, and did my small job all in the same visit. My job was the starting point for a multi-step larger job and Patrick, the electrician (who is AWESOME) actually grew up in my neighborhood and so was super familiar with the OLD houses and gave me some insight on options to move forward with my project. When I called them this morning I was told they are not interested in working on my problem that the order was in front of the individual. Charged me $230 for 'diagnostic fee' where outcome was to come back in a few weeks to charge me $1200 more to re-route the entire line from breaker box, under house, to kitchen outlet including tearing up drywall that they will not repair. I got a second opinion and it was just a loose wire at the breaker box that a knowledgeable company (Thank you Galban Electric) found and fixed in less than 5 minutes. I called Same Day Electric for a refund because their website says 100% Satisfaction Guarantee and the manager refused because the diagnostic service was completed (however totally wrong - they did not even pull the breaker panel cover off!!!!)
