She always listens and pays careful attention to what I'm asking for. Years ago, I brought a picture of Kelly Clarkson from a magazine. Said "I want my hair to look like this" - I have naturally drab, and fine light brown hair. She matched it perfectly. Small light red highlights with darker brown and fine blonde highlights sewn within. I was soooo happy. I trust her completely and often walk in saying - what do you think I should do? I'm never unhappy with the results. Like I've said before, I've been going for years so I don't really have to do the introduction stuff that she does for her other clients. - That being said - when you do go for the first time - allow a little extra time because she will ask you a lot of questions about what you want and expect. The extra time is well worth it. Her new salon is a welcome addition to Oro Valley. It is clean and bright. I actually prefer it to older location. It's conveniently located on the corner of 1st and Tangerine (behind the Walgreens - beside Subway). They also do manicures and such. Give them a try. You won't regret it.

I made an appointment to have my hair cut and some highlights put in , upon arrival the stylist…read morementioned that she doesn't use clippers nor does she do clipper cuts, but she could get just as close with scissors I've had that experience before, where stylists don't use clippers, or only use clippers. I've even had stylists w used a straight edge razor It literally looks like I let a five year-old practice cutting my hair it's not even it's definitely not as close as what somebody would get with clippers it looks like somebody just whacking pieces out of it here and there. The excuse of I don't do clipper cuts or use clippers is not relevant. I've had stylist who use straight razors who don't use scissors who don't use clippers it doesn't make up for a bad sloppy haircut either you know how to cut hair or you don't. The salon is very nice. It has a relaxed upscale vibe to it. They did not charge me for the haircut and they offered to have a different stylist fix it however, I am in a time crunch. If I'm going to have somebody fix it I want the stylist that originally did it to learn how to use scissors to get a close clean cut when doing hair because you can get a nice clean finished product using just scissors. You would be better off letting a five year old cut your hair. This place has over rated air of quality. Maybe some of the stylists are talented and create a comfortable welcoming atmosphere. My experience was someone who did it want to be there, asked canned questions repeatedly because they were not present in the conversation. I am the person that is in shorts and a t shirt, I don't dress to impress to go to get my hair cut.

I asked for a soft, faded balayage and instead got the most blotchy, choppy, uneven mess you can imagine. It was nothing like what I asked for--TEASY balayage, not zebra stripes! I was absolutely devastated. I trusted them, and they RUINED my hair. I'm still traumatized and thank GOD I went to a different hair salon to fix it. And to top it off, when I asked for a refund, the owner said no, unless I went there and they fixed it AS IF I had the confidence and trust them with my hair again, HECK NO, no apology, no accountability, nothing. All the people that work there seem very nice - it's a very pleasant atmosphere. The place can get a little crowded during peak hours but I normally come in later in the day when things are a little quieter. They keep the place spotlessly clean - not an easy task in that business. Parking is very convenient as they are located in a modest sized mall. I can normally park right outside the door. There are enough men (like me!) that get their hair cut there that I don't feel self-conscious about it. I plan to continue to go there to get my hair cut for the foreseeable future.
