7-STAR EXPERIENCE!! I came in today to see Dr Wechter for…read moresome reassurance/diagnosis on an issue with my mouth/tongue....SO GLAD I DID! ...From the moment I spoke on the phone to Angelica, to the stellar care I experienced, this entire practice had things dialed-in! Here are a few experience highlights: 1. Angelica (phone receptionist)was so kind. She spent much time with me on the phone and was so cordial and kind. I felt she truly was empathetic and she worked to find me a next day appointment with Dr Wechter at his SB location. 2. Their SB office is located right off of Pedrogosa. Their is an elevator, for those who are in need, such as myself (since I am also recuperating from a foot surgery). 3. The entire office is the most immaculately clean office....just superbly clean, aesthetically appealing and non-cluttered with a bit of higher-end Spanish Mission theme. They obviously take great care to keep things clean/sanitary and relaxing/comfortable 4. Dr Wechter is the kindest and most authentic doctor!! He is VERY giving of time...even sits with you after, to be sure all your questions have been answered and he is a master in his field. He was so cordial and I felt that he truly desired to listen and help. He didn't talk over me, and fully explained everything. **I've seen a lot of doctors in my time, as I have worked as a nurse for many years, and thusly must give high props to Dr Wechter for being the "whole nine yards" for everything you'd like to see in a doctor. 5. The entire staff are all so very personable, cordial and kind. The young gentleman who assisted Dr Wechter today (so sorry I forgot to ask his name) had such a lovely smile and was superb. I cannot thank you all enough for the A++ attention, care and kindness. You've set a new bar in service!

Dr. Riviera is a good oral surgeon but the office manager is grossly incompetent. If you do not want to spend hours waiting there, go to another practice -- there are many qualified oral surgeons in Santa Barbara, whose office managers are effective and competent.

I am so happy that Dr. Wallace's office was listed on my insurance. I couldn't have had a better…read moreexperience and I feel like most people don't say that when you get your wisdom teeth pulled. Honestly, I wish I could see Dr. Wallace for routine appointments like cleanings and such because I have yet to find a dentist who displays the amount of care and professionalism as Dr. Wallace. I am deathly afraid of needles. Seriously. I will cry and cry, push and shove once a needle comes near me. He was extremely patient and empathetic when it came to my fear. He offered to write me a prescription for a low dose anxiety med to take the night before my procedure and although I declined the offer, the fact that he offered made me feel as if he truly understood my fear and wanted to help me the best he could. During my consultation he got some x-rays (if I recall correctly, he had very advanced x-ray machines) and talked to me about the procedure and was so incredibly patient in answering all my questions. I never once felt rushed or as if someone had an appointment after me, which I'm sure there was. I was only seeing him for two of my wisdom teeth because I had gotten the other two removed previously but I had a far better experience with Dr. Wallace. I learned way more about wisdom teeth and everything you could possibly know about the procedure which put me at ease. The day of my procedure, I was shaking and terrified of the thought of the IV. He sat me down and gave me some gas (I think, that day is a little foggy). After I was feeling more relaxed, he told me he was going to put the IV in my arm and asked me to tell him something (lol, I have no clue what he asked me to tell him, but it was probably a story or counting something). I was balling and I mean balling. There were a few other people in the room and they were holding my hands and telling me that everything was going to be ok (which does very little for my fear but so happy they did it). He then waited for me to relax a little and put the IV in only when I was ready. I appreciate his patience so so much. I can't even begin to tell you how thankful I am for such an understanding oral surgeon. I woke up, disoriented and still crying about the needle. He helped my roommate take me out to my car and told her everything she needed to know and some rules for her. It's now been a year since I got my wisdom teeth out and I'm still so happy with my care. I experienced very little pain and although I had some side effects to the medication I was prescribed, I was able to make an appointment the next day to go and see Dr. Wallace and was assured that everything looked normal and slight pain and side effects can be expected. I am only here for school but if I ever need dental surgery, I would probably make the drive to Dr. Wallace's office. The receptionists are very helpful and were able to answer any questions I had regarding billing and insurance stuff. The office is small but has its charm. Almost every guest that I had seen come out of a surgery while waiting for an appointment was treated with great care by the doctor. I loved that every time I went to that office, I spoke to Dr. Wallace himself and not an assistant or someone else. It made my surgery very personable and made me more comfortable. Would recommend Dr. Wallace to anyone in need of dental care.

He explained the procedure and showed me why they needed to be removed with a 3d scan. His staff and him are friendly and professional. I have never had any sort of dentistry needed before and being 33 I am on the late side of getting my wisdom teeth removed so I was nervous , but the sedation used knocked me right out and before I knew it I was ready to go home. I had almost no swelling or pain and am very happy I did this procedure with him!

I found Dr. Hall (and staff) to be friendly and willing to answer all my questions with patience. The whole process went off without a hitch and was surprisingly pain free. Literally I experienced zero pain after having my tooth extracted and later on, a post inserted. Not sure if I got lucky, more likely he just knows what he's doing. He uses the latest equipment so maybe that helps him do an excellent job? While I don't want to go thru this process again, if I have to, I'll be returning to Dr. Hall and wholeheartedly recommend him to everyone in the area. The only downside is he doesn't provide the actual tooth that attaches to the post but this isn't really a big issue.

When I came out of surgery no one had told me what had happened. Eventually we found out 5 days later that it was a "code brown" situation while I was under anesthesia. Dr Jones eventually admitted to pushing my upper left wisdom tooth too far and lodging it into my upper cheek where they then had to "dig" it out of the buccal space. I wasn't able to breastfeed my 9 month old for 10 days due to being on heavy pain killers for a week longer than they anticipated. I eventually ran out of milk supply. I was completely numb in my left cheek, upper lip, left upper teeth for almost a year. Dr later admitted to this happening only one other time in her 15 year career and admitted this was a rare complication/mistake, but despite how rare and severe of a complication, I didn't see her in person until 11pm on Friday the 22nd when I called her (for the 6th time) because I had very extreme pain in the upper left of my mouth and head. During the week we had called her office several times with concerns and emailed her with updated photos of my face but no one asked me to come into the office to be seen. This was so incredibly stressful on me and my family and I would hate for this to occur with anyone else. I wish there would've been much more attention to this matter. Rather I felt like this serious and rare complication was minimized and dismissed.

Botox, Fillers, and etc.. have you heard about them???…read more I don't routinely get Botox, maybe once or twice a year, only for special occasions. But when I do I seek out Lori at Dr. Gunson's office. Lori is a licensed PA, who started out in dermatology initially and is now working in the maxilofacial surgery field. She is everything you need in a esthetic provider. She's knowledgeable, gentle, conservative, and kind. If ever in need of all things fillers and Botox, come and see her.

If you're considering double jaw surgery, look no further than Dr. Michael Gunson and Lori Heinze…read morein Santa Barbara / Goleta--they are truly the best in the field. They take on the toughest cases, and I am beyond grateful that my Ohio orthodontist referred me to them. I had double jaw surgery (DJS) at age 56 with Dr. Gunson, and I could not have asked for a better experience. From start to finish, everything was handled with the utmost professionalism and care. The entire process--from my initial consultation in January 2022, to my surgery in March 2024, throughout my follow up care to my one-year final appointment in March 2025--was exceptional. My recovery was easier than I expected, and the results have been life-changing. I no longer suffer from daily headaches, neck, or shoulder pain. My severe snoring disappeared overnight--I now sleep peacefully through the night for the first time in years. People often tell me I look ten years younger! But the biggest, most immediate difference? As soon as I woke up from surgery, I took one deep breath in and knew it had worked. My airway was increased by four times in size, and for the first time, I could breathe fully and freely. Dr. Gunson is a brilliant, meticulous, and compassionate surgeon who specializes in these procedures, and his expertise is evident at every step. Lori Heinze and the entire team (Carol, Kim, Jasmine) are incredibly kind, intelligent, and hardworking--they made me feel completely supported throughout the entire journey. My only regret? Not doing this years ago! I was nervous and kept putting it off, but now, knowing what I do, I would have done it sooner without hesitation. If you are considering jaw surgery, trust Dr. Gunson and his team--you will be in the best hands possible. A million thank yous to Dr. Gunson, Lori Heinze, and the entire staff! You gave me a new quality of life, and I will forever be grateful. Highly, highly recommend I give Gunson a 10/10 Rating! Angela Thomas (Ohio)
