Once we paid, the service they gave to us didnt matter anymore. When we first bought our dresses in The FIRST WEEK OF SEPTEMBER they said it would be done with alterations by end of september. We came mid october and they were not done. We live 2 hours away. They ended up doing it that same day which we waited more than 2 hours and the lehenga alteration came out so bad. All they did was fold the lehenga and then sow it unevenly. We tried explaining why we were frustrated and all they did was come up with excuses of how it wasnt their fault. We paid alot of money to leave with bad alterations. My mom also asked for a dupatta and the owner started getting very loud with her which is extremely disrespectful. Also every time something needed to be communicated they would only go to my husband... I'm sorry am I invisible? I would ask a question or my mom would and they would respond to my husband. I got married a couple of weeks ago in a beautiful Fall wedding, much of which looked beautiful because of the amazing outfits my husband and I purchased form Samaira. We had a horrible mishap with the wedding outfits ordered online (Free advice: if you're thinking about ordering online for your wedding- DO NOT. Ordering or picking outfits in stores will save you so much time, and will give you piece of mind in a very stressful time). A friend of ours highly recommended Samaira for outfits, so with one month left to the wedding, we gave it a shot. (I had visited the store prior and bought a beautiful and unique bridal jewelry set). Ronny and his team were an absolute pleasure to work with. Upon visiting the store, I saw an outfit on the mannequin that I liked a lot and fit all my criteria. Trying it on in the store made me feel like a princess immediately - it was stunning. My husband is a big guy 6'6 (big arms and shoulders) so it's often difficult to find a regular sherwani in stores for him - wedding sherwani? Forget about it. Ronny and his team offered us the option of custom making a complete outfit set for my husband to be delivered in 3 weeks! Of course we were skeptical given our situation and experience with custom orders. After Ronny's reassurance, we went ahead and ordered the outfit. We received everything in less than 3 weeks. If the sizing is off a little, there is an in-house meticulous tailor who will adjust the sizing perfectly. The quality of service and merchandise we received was incomparable. Everyone is very attentive to our needs, although they listen to what you want, if you need help choosing, Ronny's suggestions are gold. I will let the pictures speak for themselves. Although, the outfits are even more gorgeous in person. I cannot describe how happy we are with the store entirely, it was a thrill to work with the team. I would highly recommend Samaira. read more

I rarely write reviews but this store deserves so much credit! I live in Tucson, AZ, where there is lack of desi clothing boutiques. A friend of mine had shopped at Samaira in NYC and the outfits were beautiful. Considering I live across the country, I could only wish that I was residing in nyc until.... I happened to call the store to find out if they offered online shopping. The individual at the store pleasantly offered to facetime or skype to show me the outfits available at the store. They took time to find out what I was looking for and were very good at determining the appropriate size. All the outfits are gorgeous and reasonably priced! Their communication is excellent! I picked the outfit I wanted, paid for it over the phone along with shipping and 3 days later it was at my doorstep in Tucson! When I opened the box, it was beyond expectation!!! It was carefully wrapped in layers of wrapping and the details of the outfit are stunning. You will not be disappointed to shop here! (even if you don't live in nyc :) read more

The worst experience! The people there were extremely rude. They were only interested in showing me bridal lengha's that were super expensive. When I told them I wanted semi bridal wear they appeared uninterested as if I was wasting their time. Also as I was going through their racks of lengha, I saw one that I was interested in. The price was about $1180 . One uncle said it's on sale for about $800, then he left and another saleswoman came and said it was $1300. When I told her what the uncle said, she just shrugged her shoulders. I don't like this place and will never go back. They were so rude and unprofessional and giving inconsistent prices for the outfits. Stay away!!! read more

Our salesperson (who was a sweet young girl) told us we can take pictures of the jewelry pieces we were browsing for the bride to be since she was not physically with us and lives in another state. Some time later another salesperson (an older lady, presumably the owner) came over and incredibly rudely scolded us for taking pictures, and told us it wasn't allowed as if we knowingly were breaking the rules. She spoke to us in a disparaging manner, I was stunned at the horrible customer service. They need to pick a lane, either have your salespeople be on the same page so they can tell us something isn't allowed if we ask or maybe don't be an a**hole to the customer. Happily taking my business elsewhere to one of the many other stores in the area that have better service (and stuff). read more

Went last weekend looking for a dress for my wedding. Looked for a minute at the dresses close to the entrance of the bridal section then as I was going to the back to check out the dress on display in the back of the store the sales lady kinda blocked my way. She asked me what I'm looking for and I told her that I'm looking for a wedding dress. She goes we're busy right now wait for 10-15 mins, though there was only one customer. I said ok and went to sit on the couch. A few minutes later I see one of the sales guys pointing to us and asking and she just gestures like never mind. 15 minutes passed by and no one came to help so we basically left. I was very disappointed and will never go back to the store. They were not responsive, accurate, efficient, nor courteous. I went there to find my engagement outfit. Once I picked the outfit and paid half the cost, the lady said it would be ready in a month, which was a long time for a blouse. She reinsured me that the outfit will be ready by the first week of February. So when the 1st week of February went by and not hearing from them. I decided to reach out. She said the outfit would be ready that Sunday. Well Sunday came long and I received a call. She finally told the truth. They forgot about the order and they tired to get the outfit here by Wednesday. Well that was already to late. But wanted me to try on different outfits. When though it was their fault they were pushing for me to pay more money for another dress. It seemed like the owner didn't even care that they messed up or for the bad service. At the end I took back my deposit and left. Lucky I found a better store near by that were reliable. I came to Samaira in October 2019 for a wedding dress. I admit I had a fast approaching deadline since my wedding was set for 11/29/19 and no one was willing to take the risk to make a dress for me that fast. But at samaira they reassured me that they would be able to but they didn't. When I ordered the dress Sangeeta helped me and she said let's put the wedding date as 11/27/19 so it can come even sooner. So I agreed. And she constantly kept reassuring me that it would arrive even before the 27th and I took her word for it. She took all my info and took the money and that was that. The date got closer and I had not heard anything about the dress status so I was getting worried so I called the store on 11/24/19 and asked to speak with her. She told me don't worry it will come in time. She reassured me many times and I of course like a fool believed her. Then on 11/26/19 I called her again and she said it's not here yet. Then later in the day she called me and admitted that the blouse was not ready and the outfit was still in India. Apparently they had made the blouse too small and were working to make a bigger blouse for me. I was so angry. I was so upset. How can you tell me 3 days before my wedding that my outfit it not ready and still in India?! I exploded on her and the store owner was no help either. The next day on 11/27/19 (in my henna night) they kept telling me they had another dress for me since I was demanding a refund. The owner came to Queens to show me the dress and he brought a floor dress that I had seen the month prior when I went in the first time. The dress was old and you know so many women had tried it on cuz the beads had fallen off and it was disgusting. They tried to first tell me I had to pay more for this dress since it cost more then my original dress and I lost it. I was angry and upset and just demanded my money back. It's horrible what they did to me. I was upset on my mehndi and the next day was thanksgiving and where was I supposed to find a dress for my wedding? They put me through so much stress and gave me so much anxiety and ruined everything for me. My husbands sherwani was exclusively bought to match my original dress. The decor matched my original dress and everything had to be changed last minute cuz of their stupidity. I wasted extra money because of them. Do not spend your money here. Do not trust them. They will say what they want to get your business and then not even deliver. This is not how you treat your customers. It took me over a year to write this review cuz every time I thought about what they put me through I would get so angry all over again. Just don't do it. Just run far far away from them. read more
