Through these classes, I got exposed to a variety of valuable singing skills. Through the months, I could slowly feel myself beginning to understand the skills that I would need to master in order to become a really good singer. Playing guitar is in my zone, but I am not a trained singer; hence, I started searching for singing coaches on the Internet. I found HEATHERVOX. She had a lot of positive reviews; hence, I scheduled a session with her; and, I am so happy I did. - She has a beautiful singing voice; and, she immediately assessed my singing competency baseline. - She immediately started me on vocal techniques that quickly controlled the movement of my neck, mouth, and vocal cords. Most importantly, she taught me the importance of relaxing the vocal cords throughout the octaves. - After 40 minutes of teaching proper singing techniques and using the techniques she taught me going up and down scales, it was time to apply the techniques to a song. - I sang, Here Comes The Sun, by the Beatles; and, I was amazed -- I immediately noticed the improvement in my singing -- now, don't get me wrong, it wasn't just "add boiling water and instant noodles" kind-of- thing, but it was a drastic and noticeable improvement in my singing voice. I still have a lot of work and practice to do. Now, I have more controlled volume, my voice is more robust, colorful, and dimensional, AND I am able to hit higher notes easier without strain. I was also amazed with the added tone quality Heather gave me through her singing techniques. Heather recorded my session; hence, I have a starting baseline of my singing voice. I can track my progress. I also have recordings of the techniques she taught me; so, I can replicate them while doing my homework. I have 6 months from today, 23-January-2025, to get my singing skills on-point; hence, I am 100% certain, working with Heather, will get me to my goal. I have developed a fairly good understanding and command of most of the key points I can think of about singing - breath support, tempo, closure, pronunciation, posture, registers etc. If any future student sees this review, please note that you might not feel that you will immediately get results with Pauline's method or even understand it -- but that is the way it should be. For e.g., you might want to learn to get high notes or you want to develop healthy vibrato. But these are results that you get naturally when you walk on the right path. Pauline's speech level singing lessons provide the right path for you. I never questioned this because I had some training before but I understand it might not be easy to keep with the seemingly unrelated trainings -- while they are the essential building blocks. Singing techniques are not easy to understand or grasp, as there are a lot of subtleties there and a lot of things are not visible (they happen within your body). Not driving to Santa Clara for private lessons with our teacher on weekdays is awesome. Both our sons have been taking weekly lessons since a young age and love coming for them.
