Don't go to this weird dental office. I came from northern Ca. Worst care of all the dentists I have ever been to in 50y. Crappy dentist. I needed 6 teeth repaired. He and the assistant pulled couple of teeth and used non dissolving stitches. That cost me time and money to get them taken out. He didn't even look at the other teeth I was concerned about he just left. He scammed me by sending me to a panoramic x-ray machine which cost another hundred. He wasted three of my days in Tijuana, which cost me a lot to stay there. They told me that they made crowns there, but they don't. They send them out to be made if they are screwed up You lose another day to have them remade never never go to this phony place. read more

We have been going to Sam dental for about 10 years. When the US dentist says you need a root canal, we found it was faster to jump in the car and have Sam get the root canal done right away rather than wait for a US appointment a few weeks later. Cost is about 1/4 th the US cost. We originally walked across the border and had them pick us up, but now we drive across and stay at a Tijuana hotel within walking distance. They are in a modern mid-rise office building and have new equipment. read more

I have been coming here since I needed a root canal back in 2014. Paid less than half the price I would have to paid here in CA. My ins don't cover root canals or crowns so I came here. They offered to pick me up at the border and drop me off. I had no pain at all and their staff and all dentists speak English. They gave me a free medical pass and that made crossing so much faster. Their facility is super clean and their technology is way more advanced than some dental clinics I've been to here in the San Fernando valley. Can't say enough good things about this place. The facilities are very clean and the staff is incredible. They do everything to accommodate your needs. I have had extensive work done and recommend this place to friends all the time. They are in a very safe part of town. The building and office is new and nicer than most places that I have been to in Los Angeles. TJ isn't as bad as everyone thinks. No matter where you go if you look for trouble it will find you. They pick you up and drop you off at the border. For many years I have gone to dentists in the US and have always felt ripped off. I needed a lot of work done and every time I saw a dentist the office manager was quick to come in to try and set me up with financing. They always felt like they were pushing more than needed rather than actually caring about my health and situation. American dental insurance is a joke even with a great company. Only basics are usually covered. I have had the equivalent of $20k worth of work done for around $6k at SAM dental. So many friends ask me why I would go to TJ for work. SAM dental guarantees their work. I had a veneer chip which was actually my fault. They replaced it for free. Next step is implants which are also guaranteed for life. You won't get that coverage in the US and definitely won't get the prices. read more

When I first began receiving treatment, the dental work and customer service were exceptional about two years ago. They picked me up and offered to take me back to the border. Since then, customer service turned into a horrible experience. They do not return phone calls or emails. Soon thereafter, Dr. Rodriguez and her staff began giving me the run-a-round. If they had any issue with me or needed to change my appointment, they had my cell phone number and email information to provide reasonable notice. Instead, I went down there, arrived early and waited to get some quality dental work, having been there a couple weeks earlier for dental work. and to make sure everything was in order. Instead, Dr. Rodriguez was unprofessional in how she handled me. She didn't make it to the office. Another dentist, after waited an hour before offering to do the work. It was done in a way to hand me over to another dentist. As a businessman, my time is valuable. It takes a lot of effort to get into Tijuana and cross back into the United States. I even found a way to take a taxi, or walk to and from the border making it easier not to hassle them about rides. There are literally hundreds of doctors, dentists, and other medical facilities catering to Americans in the Zona Rio district. It's a shame that Dr. Rodriguez forgot about that. read more

I was advised and referred to a most excellent result with a cat scan, 360 degrees with clarity and sophistication far beyond the x-rays and scans I've received from my dentists office stateside. If I could I would give zero stars for this Dentist office. Why? In June 2019 I had four fillings done. The same day one of them just fell out, and within a short period, I lost another. I'm not even sure about the two remaining. We thought we'd try Sam Dental because they were recommended by American friends who live in Tijuana. But the young girl who worked on my teeth didn't even have her credentials yet. She had just graduated from wherever she went to school. My dentist in Colorado examined the work, and said it was very poorly done. So yes, the cost is about 1/3 of that of the States, but is it worth it, if you later have to have the work redone in the States anyway? I don't think so. I strongly suggest you carefully read all reviews for Sam Dental, and also, other dental offices before committing time and money to having work done in Mexico. There may be offices that do much higher quality work, but Sam Dental is most definitely not one of them. read more

Great work! Great professional doctors and staff. Very clean. Their pick up and drop off service is so convenient and stress free. Pricing are jaw dropping, in a great way. Had a root canal done in less than an hour. Fast service. Husband had a cleaning and his teeth look fantastic, shiny and white. Have been back twice in a week & definitely going back for more work. HORRIBLE!!! Sam Dental was the most horrible experience of my life!! They put in a faulty crown which caused me agony for 6 months then made me come back 7 times for a root canal and post to fix their bad work which they tried to make me pay double for. The dentists put the needle into my exposed nerve repeatedly while doing a root canal while I was shaking and crying. My equipment was stained with blood and I had to ask who's blood it was. When you think it's a deal to get work done in Tijuana you will pay more in the end by choosing a bad dentists. I want to warn everyone not to go there! read more

Sam Dental has been amazing! From the 1st visit to now my 3rd visit, they have been nothing but exceptional. The receptionists always remember my me and my unique needs, they have a ton of availability, and the overall experience and work done is better than what I have had dental work done in the United States and Europe. They pick me up from the boarder, get my dental work started in a timely manner, just overall an easy and calm experience. I was highly recommended to go to them by a friend in Washington, USA. She had done her research to find the best of the best, and she highly recommended Sam Dental. I went in to get a tooth extraction, and it was very close to painless. They gave me the right prescription to ease the pain afterwards. I went into the get the tooth screw for the implant and I was treated with the same gentleness, ease and professionalism. The Dentist gave me my options and advised on what was best, making sure I made the right choice and knew what would happen step by step. I'm looking forward to finishing this tooth implant by going in for my last 2 appointments. Compared to the USA, the dental work is professional yet extremely cost effective. I will be spending $1500 as opposed to $5,500 that it would have been in the states. Thats a savings of 70%!! This is real customer feedback. They gave me a card when i left, to leave a review. Sam Dental is AWESOME. My local Dentist in Victorville, California, wanted to charge me upwards of $1,000 for a full crown replacement. I got the procedure done here at Sam Dental for half the price, if that. The facility is upscale and professional--and it's free shuttle service to and from the border means your experience is stress-free (besides waiting in line to get back into the U.S.). My experience with Sam Dental was good for the work done but the office part I give it two stars, when they say Insurance don't believe it. I had work done on Sept 01 2014 and I finally sent them an email saying I give up. I sent them several emails, sent them claim number, telephone number from the insurance, photocopy of claim. I began going to Sam Dental in Sept of 2016. I had a lot of work to be done beyond what my insurance would cover, liked the 60-70% savings that Sam Dental offered, and figured this was a great way to save a lot of money. I did, however wonder if that meant that the work and customer service would also be diminished by a similar percentage. To my delight, it did not mean that at all. Quite the opposite actually. The facility is modern and state of the art and very clean. The staff have all been thorough and professional, from prognosis, to explaining procedures and answering any questions I had, to performing the actual procedures themselves, which have been efficient, high quality and essentially pain-free. I've had 1 cleaning, 1 whitening, 3 root canals, 4 crowns, 1 molar extraction, and am finishing up an implant this month. 1 more implant and 1 or 2 minor fillings to go and I should be done!! Regarding making/confirming appointments, Juan is really on top of things when arranging my appts, which often involve more than one procedure and/or more than one staff member on the same day. He is always aware of where I am in whatever procedure I'm currently having done, knows what my next step is, and arranges my next visit accordingly. He has never failed to give same day, or even same hour, callbacks when necessary and has always called to confirm all appts. Regarding the actual logistics of getting to the place: if you are in the U.S.and are driving there for each visit (as I do, from Los Angeles), I would highly HIGHLY recommend that you park in the U.S. (paid parking lot is right there at Last U.S.A exit: $10/day M-TH, $25/day on Friday's) and walk the short walk over the border. Once across, Sam Dental will pick you up at a designated location just steps from the border. These pickups are usually done by Oscar, one of the assistants at Sam Dental, a very friendly and hard working man. He will also drive you back to the border after your visit. (Note: you WILL need a passport to cross the border. If you don't have one, you can get one for about $100. I did. It's worth it) To sum up, I have saved many many 1000's of dollars by having my work done at Sam Dental, and the work and customer service have been great. If I could give zero stars I would!! When you go to Sam dental they will not give a U.S. dentist your dental records!! Even in an emergency they will not!! My aunt had a bad accident in the front of her mouth and she had implants done at Sam Dental. Despite calls from my aunts dental office staff, her dentist, and the surgeon who plans to do the surgery, Sam Dental refuses to send the records. She started calling them in August 2018. As of December, the permanent staff at Sam would not send the records. My aunts doctor said he never had an experience where another dentist in Mexico would not send a patients dental records. All she needed was information on the type of implants that they had put in her mouth. The only option she now has is to have the implants removed and file a formal report with the regulatory association of dentist in Mexico. She was crying so bad yesterday about her teeth and she regrets ever having any dental work done with Sam dental. I've been surfing Mexico since I was a kid in the 80's and the last place I ever thought I'd want to be was in jail or a hospital. 30 years ago I answered an ad in America in San Luis Obispo to get a free cleaning and tooth check. Well that guy I believe created a fake cavity in the furthest tooth to make some money and I have never had another since. The tooth ends up breaking in 1/2 and my uncle told me to go to Sams Dental in TJ. I'm like, are you crazy? It didn't hurt for the first week but then it started to hurt and I knew this was major. My uncle talked me into going and I am happy to say I went. I was concerned about driving into Mexico so Sams Dental arranged to pick me up right after I crossed the border. They took me to a very nice part of TJ that I'd never seen and I went in. There was no BS games, the doctors were straight forward, and I needed a root canal, post and crown which required 3 visits but I don't live that far anyhow. The first time my uncle went with me because he spoke Spanish and I didn't feel comfortable. When we got to the area where they do the work it's actually pretty nice so fear factor gone. The work was fabulous. A lot of attention to detail. I was hoping for a silver crown so I could act like a rapper (it was my furthest back tooth) but I hadn't been to a dentist in so long they have porcelain tooth colored teeth. The next 2 times I went by myself, got my post put in and molded the tooth I guess and today I went in and in 25 minutes my crown was done. I almost feel bad being so narrow minded because as a kid I was always partying and camping in San Miguel by Ensenada, been pulled over by Federalis many times in the 80's, but NO DRAMA. Not once. I am a businessman and make a good amount of money but I know the games these American Doctors play trying to milk you. I just wanted my tooth fixed. I have NO PROBLEM taking my kids or my wife to Sams Dental and it really opened my mind to Mexico. A tooth isn't a life or death situation so I rolled the dice and now I have a dentist office for life. By all means you go there and get the work done. You're picked up immediately after you cross the border and the office is in a great area. I wouldn't drive, that's just me, they are crazy like New Yorkers but let them drive you. I don't know how much I even saved. Probably easy a thousand or more but the detail about everything blew me away. They are extremely professional. read more

This review- or should I say, warning, concerns the Sam Dental in Tijuana. They removed the wrong crown and broke another tooth so bad that it now needs an implant. They didn't mention that until I was on my way out the door. Very unprofessional but as nice as could be. Except for the deception part. The dentist waited until the end to tell me the bad news. I guess no point getting me worried. Why make me mad until she's finished the mold and could charge me for the crown I didn't need? Cheap prices but cheaper work done there. I wouldn't have my dog seen there. Bad advice from dentist also. She said I needed a root-canal treatment, insisted on it, until the receptionist said there were a couple of patients waiting. Then she said, no need for the r-c treatment, "I'll just put resin in there"! Very inexperienced- with good dentistry anyway! God strike me dead if I have exaggerated or lied in any way. I found a better dentist, Dr. Vitol with much, much more experience and good prices- especially considering he uses labs in LA. He also explains that in implants a ct scan should always be used.
