Great time here tonight for the UNLV vs Air Force football game. Had great parking, seats, food and drinks. By drinks... I mean beer, beer and more beer. Good time had by all. Win or lose always a good time.

Pretty decent college football stadium. I love that there is free parking out on the dirt lots. Plenty of space for tailgates and whatever you might want to do. I loved watching my team come in there and win by 31 points. I got to take two points away for the super uncomfortable bench seating they have there.

I've been coming here every other year..........just to support the University of Hawaii Football program. As an alumni of the University of Hawaii........isn't it the right thing to do? The Sam Boyd Stadium is not too far from the Sam Boyd's downtown hotels........I wanna say it's probably about 12 to 15 miles away, and very easy to find. A few things I like about this little stadium - - Free parking........yeah most of it is on a dirt road, but who cares? FREE PARKING! Get it? - Food & Drinks are a little cheaper than what I would pay at the Aloha Stadium. For instance...........Beer here is just $7 bucks, where as I pay $9.50 at home. But a bad thing about this place - There is no individual seating........just a hard metal bench seating. The good thing is you can pack more people into this little stadium, but the bad thing is.......if the game runs long, it can be pretty hard on your butt! This is a outdoor stadium.........and we Hawaii folks are not use to the "cold" in the winter time. I don't know what I was thinking when I came up here............as I was just planning on just bringing up shorts, t-shirt, & a light jacket. Lucky for me, my smart girlfriend told me that it would not be wise, and that I should wear pants & layer my shirts. Thanks Jules Y.! You da bestest & smartest gf! And you know what? As the sun came down..........and it turned into night.......it was quite nippy at the stadium. I see a few Hawaii bruddah's who went with shorts & t-shirts.........and I could see they were a little uncomfortable. But as for me.........I was warm as a puppy dog.......with the exception on when I left the stadium, and the winds picked up! MAN! It was so cold..........I felt like a frozen Popsicle! I had to blast that heater in the car for a little while.............but I was okay. Although we lost again, and took a beat down from UNLV. At least I was happy to see a lot of Hawaii people supporting the University of Hawaii Football program! The people of Las Vegas were nice, and there was definitely good sportsmanship, as there were no fights or taunting.

Can anyone tell me why the UNLV stadium is built clear across the campus, way out in Henderson?? I get that UNLV is an older campus built before the strip was "The Strip", but I hate having to drive way out here for an event. I hear rumors that UNLV has plans in the works to build a new stadium - I hope it's in a more convenient location and that it comes to fruition soon! I've seen a UNLV Football game, a Monster Energy Supercross event, and participated in quite a few 5k runs at Sam Boyd Stadium. As most reviewers have mentioned, parking sucks. No one wants to park in a crowded gravelly dirt parking lot. I'd recommend parking at the Silver Bowl parking lot instead if you don't mind walking a bit father. The stadium benches are basic and hard on your back and bottom. When it comes to assigned seating, it can get pretty tight. The stadium itself is clean and typical stadium fare is offered (churros, popcorn, hot dogs, etc.) at the usual outrageous prices. The stadium is on the small side, but I guess that just means you're guaranteed a good view of the event! I try my best to avoid coming to Sam Boyd, but until UNLV gets set up with a new stadium, we're just S.O.L right? YELP 100 CHALLENGE 2015: #77

Here to watch my SUU FB team play UNLV. I love this stadium. It is close to me. I have been coming here since I was a kid watching the old Las Vegas Quicksilvers, but lets face it, it is dated. I know the popular opinion is that you have to have a stadium on campus to have a good football team, but UCLA, USC, SDSU do not have stadiums on campus and they seem to be doing well. The problems with the stadium is there are no places to tailgate, unless you like sand in your food, courtesy of the winds. The restrooms are atrocious. Key word: "VENTS". The food situation is very basic and there is no love for the past UNLV players that have passed through there and gone on to the NFL or even the CFL. You could paint the damn walls Red and Gray for God sake, it has to be less than the new field that was put down. I love the stadium, but it really needs improvements and I get that everything is on hold because we have a new stadium deal dangling over our heads. Some wonderful provider could put a cell tower for better coverage and having never been in the locker rooms, I have no idea how bad that is. It was a sweetheart deal and the lack of support for the UNLV football team from UNLV got the stadium to where it is, today. John Robinson made improvements and I have NO DOUBT that Tony will do more. I have already enjoyed the new football team, the new field, the new score board, the new attitude.

I came from California to watch Supercross finals. I was let down by the stadiums, parking lot, Uber pick up areas, food, seats, and service. I understand that it is a university stadium but if a stadium is going to be hosting professional events there needs to be more money invested into the stadium. The "seats" were so uncomfortable to sit on. The seats were actually metal benches that leave audiences to feel like squished sardines if the whole bench is sold out. The entrance and exit of the parking lot were terrible. It is not child friendly what so ever. If someone was to stand it would block entire views. There is only one jumbo-tron screen and their were not enough speakers around the stadium to properly listen to the broadcasters. The Uber/Lyft pick up drop off area were a huge mess because there was only one small section and was part of the parking lot. There was a line of over maybe 300 people waiting for their Uber's. The worst part of the whole event and stadium was the service. For some odd reason one of the five tickets we purchased scanned as if we had already entered the event. The person who was assisting us basically thought we were attempting to sneak in. Not only was it embarrassing but they told us they were not able to assist us because we purchased the tickets through stubhub.

We caught the UNLV vs Idaho State game and had a fantastic time. The final score was 80-8, setting a new record for both UNLV and the Mountain West Conference. First off, let me start by saying that there is a reason this stadium was built in the middle of a huge open area. It was done deliberately. And it was intended to be well off the strip. "Why??", people keep asking. Because of all the dangerous fireworks and other extremely loud events that were and are still held at Sam Boyd Stadium. This is NOT the type of venue most people want in their backyards. Of course, I recommend tailgating! Either the UNLV Alumni tailgate or there is also a separate tailgating lot on the left side of the stadium open to all fans. You can enter the public tailgate lot from Broadbent Blvd, just north of Russell Road very easily. The tailgating area is a grassy field that is nicely maintained and well kept. The grass is perfect for providing a cool and comfortable area to do your pre-game partying. You can park your vehicles and setup your tailgate party in a section that you have reserved. You can reserve your spot for the season, or you can reserve a spot for a single event or individual game. It's fantastic! Bring whatever you want, because grills, tents, tables, and alcohol are allowed. I'm happy to report that the field itself looks amazing! Not sure when it was redone, but I was happy to see it in such good shape. The sound system was also working well. The bathrooms we saw were clean and the concession lines moved as a fast as humanly possible. The parking areas here are just fine. Coming to a collage football game, or any other type of event held here is not something that you can just swing in & out of. Remember, your not the only person stopping by. Everyone else here is on the same exact schedule as you are. So people just need to have a little patience and deal with it. Stop complaining about how hard it is to get here, or having to wait a few minutes in line to leave the stadium. Because in reality, it's just NOT that bad.

    U2 Vegas!!
    Kristin S.

So we flew down to Vegas to see U2. Venue itself not too bad except there are too few ATM machines and one other BIG exception. Boyd Stadium Big-Wigs, excuse me if you're not to blame for this but I'm pretty sure you are responsible for the parking outside the venue. So a BIG sarcastic THANKS for a complete lack of organization in the parking lot. I think all fans that night would thank you for giving many of us a "first-time" experience; what it feels like to get trampled by a large moving crowd!! While I didn't go all the way down, the force of thousands was strong enough my feet started to go out from under me. Maybe it was the lone car that was somewhere behind us, ALSO pushing its way through the crowd. We were all praying that lady's foot wouldn't slip off the brake as she tried to inch her way through thousands of people on foot. The crowd even started sitting on top of her car. Police? Security, at least? Nowhere. The reason for the madhouse was that ALL the concert fans, and any idiot knows how many people I'm talking about, were forced to exit through one 20 foot wide gate to the parking lot. Even worse, in an odd form of crowd control, they periodically SHUT THE GATE and locked us in the stadium! So people began getting pushed up into the locked gate! Whaaaat???? Were we still in the United States? It seemed like something we see on TV in other countries where lack of planning is protocol. So what's up, Boyd Execs? How did you manage to drop that very big ball? Never heard of U2? Thought maybe it was some rogue, unfamiliar group where large crowds wouldn't be a problem? Aside from being pissed off by the danger of the situation that tens of thousands of us were in, I am HONESTLY CURIOUS how such an oversight came to be. When we finally made it to our car and tried to exit, guess what? Same problem. Thousands of cars trying to make it through one small exit surrounded by a large metal barrier and NO traffic direction. Thank you to the one lone U2 fan who stood in the street for a very long time doing what the Boyd venue staff should've been doing themselves. Directing Traffic! So, 2 1/2 hours after we exited Boyd Stadium, we finally made it out of the parking lot. I feel lucky. A lady I met on the plane didn't get out until 3 am. Really, if any one can shed some light on just what went wrong here and why, I'd like to know.

Raise your hand if you knew what was the name of the bowl game that is play in Las Vegas every December. I didn't even know a post season bowl game was possible for a non-winning team. Apparently they love to invite a 6-6 team like UCLA Bruins to come to Vegas. I'm pretty sure they would rather invite Cal Bears if they could. Get ready, here's the answer...I was here for the "LAS VEGAS Bowl" sponsored by Pioneer. Yep, even Wynn wouldn't touched that. It was the disappointing UCLA Bruins vs the conference champ BYU (who incidentally lost to UCLA 27-17 earlier in the season). The luster was taken off a little whenever a rematch was schedule in a bowl game. The excitement has since been gone with UCLA manhandling BYU with a full healthy squad. Too bad the Bruins are decimated with injuries and had to start the 4th Quarterback of the season. The stadium was located a mile off the UNLV campus and a short drive from the Vegas strip. It was a little confusing using the public transportation to get to the stadium as we barely got there on time. We almost didn't get to watch the first quarter due to the staff's confusing distribution of will call tickets. We were starting to sweat bullets when the kickoff started. Once we did get to our seats, I was amazed on how good the tickets were. We were about 16 rows from the sideline and was very close to the north end of the end zone. We were assigned to the sections with the UCLA alumni with a few BYU fans able to buy the leftover tickets. I was delighted as the tickets for that area would have been about $50 for an alumni. The stadium have about 40,000 seats for the game and was very cozy in terms of close proximity to the field. It's perfect for a Saturday college football game or a Monster truck event. I also heard that concerts and High school football championships were held in this stadium. Granted, I have been to a few High School football stadium that were a lot bigger, but with fewer seats as they also double as a track and field stadium. This was still a top notch Division I stadium. Comparing to other bigger venues that I had went to (Dodger Stadium, Angel Stadium, Rose Bowl, Petco Park in SD), this stadium needs to update on the restroom facilities and maybe come up with a little bit more lighting around the stadium. Just a little brighter would be nice especially for a night game like the night we had. In terms of concession stands, they do have alcoholic beverages and plenty of the similar stadium food around the country. The only thing I can say is that the price is a little bit lower than I thought it was, but I didn't want to spoil appetite as we have plans for a Bellagio buffet for dinner. They have a jumbo tron on the scoreboard for each end for live action and replay of crucial plays. The only thing that bothers me was the announcer who have a monotone pitch voice. He needs to spice up to get more excitement for the crowd. With an open air and the synthetic turf on the field, this would be perfect for a fast high scoring game. Alas with an inexperience Quarterback for UCLA and a BYU team that took awhile to fight off a tough UCLA defense, there was no high scoring offensive output. The game was actually very exciting and very close to the end. The fans were rocking the stadium for both side and the game would eventually came down to the last play where UCLA had a chance to win the game by kicking a short field goal. They set up a 28 yard field goal which is a gimme for the UCLA kicker. I had seen him kicked a 52 yarder early in the game. Here comes the snap, the place for the kick, and the kick........ I wished I could tell you the result of the game. I left at Halftime just so we could avoid the cold temperature and make it to the Bellagio buffet. We were starving!

I live close to this stadium and I've never been until last night. Entered on the east side, to my surprise their was no line. I came prepared with my clear stadium approved bag I purchased from Amazon for $6. Walking in it was clean, staff & security everywhere. Finding our seats, the seats are benches an not going to lie their not bad but they do offer red padded you put on the bench for a rental fee of $5. Many employees walking around sale goodies, popcorn, beer, water, cotton candy you name it.

So here's the thing... I'm not from Nevada or surrounding states. I'm also not a UNLV fan but for possibly a good football game... I'm in. Our first game here was vs. University of Arizona. I honestly think there were more Arizona fans here than UNLV fans. Oh... maybe that's because Arizona was winning (by a lot!) and had more to cheer for. LOL The stadium itself is so small than what I'm used to being in. From Michigan ~~ University of Michigan Fan ~~ GO BLUE! Sam Boyd only holds around 36,000 people.... The Big House.... 107,000+. Yep, huge difference. The parking was fine. We got there a little early and pulled into a parking lot that was just starting to get used (One of the free lots) . In and out of this parking lot was actually pretty easy and made it only a few minutes to wait for traffic to be directed out. Nice! It was only a short jaunt to get into the south entrance of the stadium so that was good. The concessions have a little improvement to be made. There really wasn't much of a selection as far as hot items. No big deal I guess. We will just eat something before I get to the game. Overall it's very inexpensive for entertainment during football season. We will be back again and hopefully more to cheer for than the opposing team. ;-)

    Pre-game warm ups.

I like coming to events at Sam Boyd Stadium. I've been to the monster truck several times. And many supercross events as well. I've even been to a couple of football games. Both UFL and UNLV alike. While I always have fun the fact remains that Sam Boyd is showing its age. The concrete is cracked and breaking apart. The seats are warped and have some sharp edges in the curves. It has an overall feel of bare minimum ammenities. And the parking is terrible. I hate having to park in a very rough and rocky parking lot. Dirt or small gravel is one thing but large chunks of asphalt and concerte is quite another. It is time for an upgrade. I hope the new proposed project UNLV has planned grows legs and progresses soon. It would be nice for the school to have a place near campus instead of on the outskirts of town. Fingers crossed.

Monster Jam action at Sam Boyd Stadium
    Eric M.

Been here what will be my 5th time all during the Monster Jam World Finals. Nice stadium but the bench seating after 3 days starts to take its toll on your butt and back. It's a nice stadium, clean unlike o.co coliseum which seems a bit on the dirty side. But the stadium feels a bit on the older side.

She was organized, calm, and on top of every detail. She made the entire process feel easy and stress free. On the wedding day, everything ran smoothly because of her and DJ Syd. The photographer, whose name I sadly forget, perfectly captured our memories. The food was amazing (get the chicken piccata). Our guests are still talking about it. Every dish was fresh, well prepared, and full of flavor. The service was even better than we expected. The staff was attentive, kind, and truly cared about making our day special. Perhaps best of all, is the fact that we weren't nickel and dimed. Their pricing was up front and truly turnkey. The value for our money was amazing. If you are looking for a wedding venue in Las Vegas, this is the place. The Side Yard exceeded our expectations in every way. We could not have asked for a better experience.

Farrar Wedding 2025…read more Absolutely an experience! We had our wedding event here on July 19, 2025. From the moment we sat down with David to discuss what we wanted, he was incredibly understanding of our budget and knew exactly how to make our day as beautiful as I imagined! Everything was beyond exceptional--our guests loved the venue and couldn't stop talking about how amazing everything and everyone was. I always have and will continue to recommend Factory of Dreams and/or Skyview Banquet Hall to anyone looking for a venue! That said, we did experience a few hiccups during the planning process. Communication with Chef Francisco G. wasn't the best--he wasn't timely in responding, which caused some stress. However, the food turned out good on the day of the event, though I was surprised and a bit disappointed that the kids were served Little Caesars pizza. As for Irma, who I was told was the event coordinator--she was very sweet and helpful in the beginning. But when it came time for the wedding rehearsal, I was told I had to find my own coordinator. This was frustrating because I had gone over all the event timing with her, so I assumed she would be the one handling it. If I needed to bring in someone else, I wish I had been told upfront--it would have saved some last-minute stress before my big day. And id also like to give a big thanks to the Bakery used Cakes Las Vegas so good with the flavors my husband does not like sweets but he did enjoy your cake. Despite these issues, I truly thank the entire team for their hard work and dedication. You all helped make our wedding a day to remember!

There is a small parking lot in front and some street parking around the venue. If you get there early, you can snag a spot there in front. We scored one. Just inside the front doors is a small lobby with a bar that serves a few options for beer, wine, mixed drinks, sodas, and water, along with a few snack options. The bartender was friendly and took care of us quickly. The venue is through another set of doors and seats about 200-250 people. With that size, there isn't a bad seat in the house. We were in the back row of seats and were still only about 100 feet from the stage, if that. There is also a section of bleacher-type seating in the very back. The sound and lighting system were excellent. There is also a room in the back that they use for meet and greets. Again, small bar serving drinks. They also had a charcuterie table set up. I don't know if that was specific to the artist performing that night or a typical offering, but the spread was very nice, offering decorative cups with a small variety of meats and cheeses, along with salted caramel chocolate. There were also cake pops offered. Overall, this is a great venue. I would recommend looking into the shows they have to offer and come check one out!

They're big time Disney fans so they had a Cinderella theme. It was easy to find this venue & there is plenty of parking. There was a security guard inside the door. The table settings were gorgeous. Everything looked so perfect. The colors were great!! The curtains that hung from the ceiling have lights all in them & when it gets dark inside & they turn them on it was soooooo pretty!! The guest of honor was able to arrive at the top of a staircase inside & walk down that stairs. There is also is a little room off to the side where they set up a photo booth. There was a young lady who was introducing the guest, her court & other guests. When the speaker announced it was time to eat & that she would call one table at a time I had NO idea where the buffet was. I thought it was going to be a long table of food but it was inside this little room. There were 2 servers & there was a little bit of a wait. It would of been nice if they supplied butter for the bread & plain spaghetti along with some black pepper. There was no salt & pepper shakers to be found. I was a little bummed not to see any seltzers or sliced lemons at the bar. Also it would of been nice to know it was a CASH ONLY BAR. I talked with my friend & she said she wasn't even aware it was cash only. That is something that the owners may want to tell their guest when they are looking to book this hall. I don't carry much cash on me & they were charging $10 for a Tito's. The girl also announced after they were done serving the food it would still be available for guests & just to let them know. I was actually hungry & could have gone for seconds but never saw anyone to ask. My friend arrived after the food was served with her 2 kids and no one came over to her. The staff was very, very slow to come pick up dirty dishes off the tables. I was not impressed by this. No one came to see if we needed our water pitches refilled. My empty drink cup sat on the table the whole night. I did like how they had a water bubbler next to the bar with cups to serve yourself water. It was pretty sad how the staff demolished the cake while cutting it. The pieces were all different sizes & just a hot mess at the end. See photo. They did a beautiful job on the setup & decorations but the staff definitely needs some improvement on taking care of the guests dirty dishes & checking on everyone. Due to this I'm giving this place a 4 star review.

The bar mitzvah boys favorite drink is the virgin Shirley temple and everyone was red one in his honor. The matradee was also helpful and attentive with setting up the event and keeping the evening moving. The only issue was the dj was not the same do my sister met with initially at the booking. The dj she had didn't understand all the small extra requests that were made. We did a candle ceremony thanking all the important people in his life that made him who he is before cutting the cake, lifting the bar mitzvah boy up on a chair with his dad, and the horah. These are things done at all bar mitzvah to celebrate the 13 year old becoming a man. We had the garden room and the space is huge. We not only had the extra space of high tops by the bat, the extended outdoor space and there was even a small empty room for kids to get a place to run around. The dance floor is a little small but we were no more than 70 people and most of the tome the kids were outside playing the lawn games we brought.
