Always great service and great care, only Doctor to correctly diagnose my headache symptoms.

We were told to come in 30 minutes early, only 2 wait 2 hours to be seen. The Dr. came in checked my daughter out, told us his findings and left the room without asking if we had questions and I thought he was coming back and NO he was with another patient. Then had one of the girls working there check us out and to explain what test my daughter needed done. I also don't understand how their out of pocket cost for the service needed cost the same with my insurance. Let me not get started on the waiting area chairs felt like I was sitting on a piece of plywood. I must say Jasmin was very nice when checking us out. read more

I don't know how he has any patients....can never get anyone to answer phone, goes straight to voice mail and the message you get is "mailbox full"... you can't leave a message or talk with anyone. My husband drove to his office (about 25 miles) to make an appointment for an EMG test. When we arrived was a little early so had to wait for doc to get there. When my husband was taken back young lady told me I couldn't go back, but after test doc would go over results with he and I. Didn't happen. As she was walking my husband out, told us test results would be sent to our pain management doc that night cause my husband had appointment with him the next day. Didn't happen. Tried to call Murra office, once again no answer, can't leave message.... Mailbox full. How in the world this doc has any patients is a wonder to me. We will not go back to him... no matter what test results say. Stay away from these folks... or am I expecting too much??? Say what you do, then do what you say. read more

My mom started coming here earlier this year due to excessive headaches and other concerns. She was given a care plan that included multiple blood work, MRIs, EEGs, and a recommendation to see a vascular surgeon to test for temporal arteritis. Dr. Murra himself is kind and knowledgeable; but his and his staff's communication skills are absolutely awful. Every single time I call the office, regardless of morning, noon, or afternoon time, it goes straight to their answering service that transcribes messages. To make things worse, they don't actually listen to that message until 1-2 days later. Their ACTUAL response time to help you is nonexistent--as in they will either NOT call you back or they will call and say they'll call you at X time, but never do. If you want to reach them and speak with an actual person who works there, expect to drive all the way to the office--just for them to give excuses on why they can't help. I understand the occasional issues such as network problems, lack of staffing...but if it's months and months of poor/inefficient communication, then they need to do some serious reevaluation of their process. We came to this office to figure out WHAT was the source of my mom's constant headaches. Instead, this office BECAME one of those sources. We're working on looking for a new neurologist, before this office causes more grief than it already has. read more

They are mean, careless. Will hang up on you. Millions of times it will just go straight into a voicemail as if it's like a mobile phone and says the mailbox is full . Brought my mom here for the first time and it was the worst experience of our lives. The doctor is awful and is here just for the money. He clearly does not care about the patients. The medical assistants always come in and out of the room asking questions about other patients putting their business in public. We came in for an EMG and the most unsanitary thing occurred, the needle the doctor used for this procedure at the very end was inserted in the patient bed just to talk to us. Might I mention it was covered in blood. DISGUSTING. Irene was the medical assistant who helped us out at the end and she was the most rude and loud MA I've ever met. She has no respect for her coworkers imagine how she is with the patients. Very unprofessional environment I do not recommend this location, do yourselves a favor and STAY AWAY!! I have been seeing Dr. Murra for years. I love Dr. Murra takes his time with each and every patient it takes longer to get in and out. Patients are made aware of all he is doing to get you well and he educates you on your illness. i was referred by a family friend that loves how Dr. Murra took care of her and her brother. Dr. Murra is the best Neurologist I've ever seen and wouldn't change him for nothing. The office is always clean and the staff is always friendly and perky. I've been to Dr. Murra 2 times now. The first time, the wait time was relatively short. Don't really remember how long I waited, which is a good thing. It means I didn't wait that long. Dr. Murra is a busy man. It's evident in the fact that my consultation was brief and full of interruptions. He left the room abruptly several times with no explanation to supposedly look at my test records that I brought with me from my other Dr. He ordered new MRIs done, which I expected. On my second visit, I had to have some testing done. My appointment time was 9:00 am. By the time they called me back at 10:00, the waiting room was so full of people, they had to start bringing people back to, what I can only assume, is the auxiliary waiting area. They didn't even start calling people back to be seen until almost 10:00. After I got into the exam room, prepped and ready for the test, it was 11:00 before the Dr. even came in. The test was supposed to take an hour, but with all the interruptions, with nurses coming in to talk to him about other patients, techs leaving and others taking their place, Dr. Murra's abrupt departure on several occasions, It took an hour and a half. He did apologize for all the interruptions, but it left me with the sense that he needs a partner to help lighten the load. He's way too busy and his bedside manner leaves a lot to be desired. He's a good Dr., I can tell, he's just too busy. I believe, if he had a partner, things would be different in that office. Im giving the practice 3 stars because I didn't have the experience that other reviewers had with rude and incompetent staff. They were all very nice, patient and caring...to me anyway. Avoid. Weekly staff turnover happens for a reason. They are unresponsive, standoffish and unprofessional. They do not focus on patients, and they will put you on hold forever when you try to call. Dr. Murra is thoughtful and intelligent, albeit somewhat lacking in urgency. Neurology is a weird thing and while it is important to diagnose, it's also important to efficiently address pain management in the near-term while finding out what's happening with the patient. read more

We waited over 2 hrs to see the DR Murra and then ANOTHER hour for him to come in the room and when he did come in the room we were interrupted 2 times by his nurses asking questions about other patients. DR. Did NOT Listen well , I had to repeat to him 3 times as he repeatedly asked me the same question previously!!! He was obviously in this business as a business man rather then for actually caring for patients! I then called the office today to have my info faxed to me for a new Dr and they rudely put me on hold for 20 mins when I called. They also informed me I could not have my info faxed or emailed to me it had to be sent to another Dr. or picked up personally! I informed them I live in Katy FAR From CY FAIR!! We were recommended to Dr. Murra, as my son had no insurance at the time, and he was the only doctor in the area accepting patients w/o insurance. However, that should not equate to "third world" treatment where you sit for hours on end waiting to see him. We've had 3 visits thus far and each time we waited well over 2 hours. The straw that broke the camel's back was the last visit, whererby after a 2.5 hour wait, to find out they mis-placed the blood work. And we were informed we needed blood work before Dr. Murra could see him. Now that my son has insurance, we are currently seeking another doctor. read more

DOES NOT DESERVE A STAR! This Doctor might actually be good but his staff makes him look like a clown. They are all very childish and they play around way too much to say it's a doctor's office. Worse experience ever. Appointment was at 9:45 am. wasn't seen by the doctor until 11:15a.m. had to return for a test at 3pm,thank God we came back early at 1:30pm because it's 3:26p.m. and he's been hooked up to this machine since then. They close at 5pm,let's hope we can leave by then. We still don't know what's wrong and they still haven't called in the medicine from this morning. They walk in and out of the room and say nothing. I hate that he has sorry insurance, because if he could go anywhere else, believe me we would have taken him. We WILL NEVER RETURN. IF you have a choice, PLEASE GO SOMEWHERE ELSE! This is my first time here, I'm already in alot of pain and miserable and now I have been waiting for an hour and 10 mins. When I asked the girl at the front desk how much longer would it be and how long I have ALREADY been waiting she said they are waiting on a room and that the Dr had a procedure at 10:00 and at 11:00 and each procedure usually takes about an hour, then WHY WOULD YOU MAKE MY APPOINTMENT FOR 11:30?! I Told her there is No Way a patient would have to wait more than 10 min at my job and this is unexceptable! It's now and hour and 20 min I've been waiting. NEVER AGAIN WILL I RECOMMEND THIS DR OR COME BACK! I can hardly wait to see how the Dr treats me after reading all the previous reviews. These reviews are confusing! I was referred by my primary care doctor to Dr. Murra who said he was excellent - once I read the reviews, I felt hesitant while anticipating my appointment. After my appointment, I have nothing but positive things to say - the staff greeted my warmly, I didn't have to wait more than a few minutes, and Dr. Murra made me feel like I was family. The lady Tiffany was very educated and answered all the questions that i had. She made sure i left well attended. I am writing this review to give an update on my not so good review in 2012. My son saw Dr. Murra for the first time in 2012 for Epilepsy. We had an appointment, but waited a solid 4 hours in the waiting room before being seen. I had never experienced such a wait time before and Dr. Murra and staff acted as though this was a normal wait time; hence a scathing report on his services. I would like to indicate however that he's always been a very good doctor and has worked really hard to cut down on his wait time. We now wait no longer than the usual 15-20 minutes wait time. First visit here, it was terrible. Usually pretty patient, but this place is terrible. The staff is terrible. We waited 1.5 hours for them to verify our insurance (medicare). Then, we were charged the co-pay and they took us into the waiting room. They came in about 15 minutes after waiting saying that were still trying to verify the insurance. After an extra 30 minutes of waiting in that damn room, they come to inform us they weren't in network. Mind you, I made this appointment 3 days in advanced so they have all information on file to contact me if they had any questions. We asked for a refund for the copay they charged - and they didn't even refund the right amount. I do not recommend this location. Save your time and go elsewhere. Dr. Murra is kinda rude. It almost seems that he sees you as a client not a patient. One of his medical assistant an older Hispanic lady with the blonde hair in her mid 30s , is always so rude, always. I would not recommend this doctor for people with serious issues. Like mobility issues. He doesn't prescribe to any of his patients power scooters or wheelchairs. He even told me himself , that he doesn't prescribe to anyone. Which kind of sounded suspicious. It also seems that he just doesn't like his job because he and his staff have a hard time dealing with patients. And the wait time is2-4hours. So if you need a power scooter wheelchair for your grandma, anyone, DONT GO THERE. read more

I have to disagree with previous reviews. Despite a lengthy wait, yes, I experienced nothing but top-notch care from Dr. Murra's staff and the doctor himself. I was given detailed explanations for each step of the tests and processes, and never once felt I was receiving insufficient or inefficient care. He took time to review my test results with me and explain why further testing was needed and beneficial. The offices are nice, clean, and professional, and the staff seem well trained and organized. Not sure why so many people have a problem with this doctor, but it doesn't match my experience at all. read more

I do not recommend! My son was referred to a neurologist On October 3rd of this year and due to the urgency, I wanted to see a Dr. immediately. His nurses (except one and the young lady at the front desk) show NO sympathy, looks like they care less about the patient. I've called a few times and it seems like every time I call, it's to bother them. The nurses are always rushing. To top it off, there have been two occasion where they pretty much told me directly how unorganized they are. One of the times I was going to leave the MRI disk from Texas Children and one of the nurses said, "Keep it till you give it to the Dr. directly, because it can get misplaced." Second time I called to speak to the person who handles medical records. I asked the nurse who helped me over the phone to please take a message, with a bad attitude she said to call back tomorrow, but again, I asked her to please take a message. She said, "She probably won't call you." REALLY????? If this is the kind of service you want while you and/or your loved one is going through a neurological problem, than this is the clinic to go to. The Dr. is nice, it sucks for him that his nurses give him HORRIBLE feedback. People who work in this industry should love their jobs, these girls obviously HATE IT!!! read more

I met Dr. Murra after being referred to him by a very close friend. He is awesome. This is the first time in a long long time had i seen a doctor that has the up most respect for their patients. From the doctor to the office staff are awesome I couldn't ask for anything better. I was explained everything in the easiest English that anyone could understand. The wait was long but well worth every minute. If there is anyone needing a Neurologist right away call his office and you will be seen within a few day and his personality and hospitality are above and beyond excepted. My daughters and I have seen different Neurologist in the pass but nothing ike Dr. Murra. In fact I am scheduling my other daughters appointments. People always say that after the 1st visit that doctors get an attitude like you are bothering them. Not in this case. I've been to his office 4 different times and he's always the same sweet and honest doctor. Thank you Dr. Murra for helping me get better. I appreciate your awesome ways. read more
