Maya's Nails and Spa - Shaping and filing is very uneven

New to the area and have been trying to find a good place to get my nails done. The inside is very…read moreclean and well stocked with lots of polish options. I made an appointment online and was seated immediately. I got a gel manicure and it was really messy. The man doing my nails did a good job trimming and shaping but did a poor job with polish and cleaning up. After my manicure I waited for about 5 minutes to be seen for a pedicure. By this time lots of people started to come in with and without appointments. It was very busy and many people had to wait to be seen. There was also a customer complaining about her daughters pedicure as well if that means anything to you. A different person did my pedicure and they did a decent job. I would most likely not return for any manicure service. There were also no prices online or visible in the store. The total for a gel manicure and a regular pedicure was $65.

I was directed to the pedi chair with little conversation, not even a hello. The long and short of it was that the quality of the work was substandard. Their tools weren't sterilized and I got infections on two toes on my feet and hands. She barely shaped the nails. If I could call and cancel the charges I would. STAY AWAY!

I've been coming here for about three years thanks to the membership…read more*The services I received were amazing.* It's the owner that has me debating if I want to return or not. The one star is aimed towards the owner and the interaction, not the quality of the services provided. I was approx 5 minutes late to my appointments, which I called and shared that I was running behind. At no point was I informed that I had to fill out a form from the time I scheduled about a month before my appointment, by anyone calling and confirming my appointment, in the text for confirmation, nor when I called saying I was running behind. I attached the email she said was sent. It says if not already filled out. I've already filled these out because I have been a customer for about 3 years. It didn't say anything about being expired. So running behind I see that my masseuse is waiting for me and ready to pull me behind and the owner stops me and was like This needs to be filled out before I can allow you back there. Understandably. If I was a brand new client, I would want the waiver filled out before allowing somebody back there I've been going here for about three years let me sign it when I'm done. The owner decides that it's best if we make this an out loud questionnaire and ask me personal medical questions in the middle of the lobby, surrounded by other people. Embarrassed, told her it would be faster if I just did it and took the tablet from her. Then she disappears in the back so after I have this done as quickly as I can, which took me just a couple of minutes I have to wait up there for her to return so l could actually start attending my massage that I'm now 15 minutes late. I know that she's had people be able to fill out the form later especially if they're running behind like after the service I've seen it happen. Now I'm rushed, embarrassed, uncomfortable, don't even get my full hour (50 minutes) I'm paying for. Why I'm here: Brought this up at the end of my service. You could have told me before 1 showed up because I could have signed all of This electronically and wouldn't have had to worry about standing in the lobby. The five minutes or so would've been just my fault like you made sure to say when giving me a credit. Instead, she decides to argue with me. Letting me know that well technically you were seven minutes late. OK, I didn't realize we were counting the seconds here. Told me that we did send it to you an email which again is attached. Kept arguing with me about it. I told her that it was extremely unprofessional and inappropriate that she thought it was OK to ask me personal medical questions in the middle of the lobby when I don't even do that at my own doctors office. She's like well. "We'll leave a note to make sure that you get a $20 credit. I feel like that should be enough to make up for the time that you've lost even though it was your fault that you were late. Maybe you should show up 10 minutes early to your appointment. It only took you a few minutes to fill out the form. It's the masseuses fault that I couldn't just let you back there. There are a Stickler. Just because your buddy buddy with people here doesn't mean that you shouldn't be signing these forms." I've becoming here for three years. Yes, I have gotten to know the workers there. I'm sorry that we're friendly. I'm sorry that she's not friendly. I'm never late. I'm always sitting on the couch waiting for whoever it is to bring me back for my service. It might've just taken me a couple of minutes to fill out this form but then I had to sit there and wait for you to come back to the front so l could get pulled back. Please take no accountability it's the customer that is wrong, putting $20 credit will make her shut up and leave and throwing the "even though it's your fault bc you're late" at the end. Keep your $20. I have two more gift cards, luckily I can use them at other hand and stones and I'd be willing to drive anywhere that doesn't help line her pocket at this moment.

My therapist SEVEN had the perfect touch--firm where I needed it, gentle where it counted. It wasn't just the pressure that impressed me, but also the intuitive flow, the thoughtful draping, and the subtle incorporation of reflexology that made it feel like my body and mind were finally in sync. It was exactly what I needed--thank you for such a healing experience.
