John who runs the Funerals at sea and his wife made sure everything went according to plan. It was a little rough on the waters but went smoothly we didn't feel rushed or uncomfortable in the process. Honestly Captain Mike and Brandi were amazing and definitely made the experience even more memorable. Capt Mike slowed down for us to see some dolphins not once but twice and Brandi was so incredibly sweet she helped the kids make necklaces and held their hand for them to throw flowers in for my family. Definitely a way better experience than last time and I was able to finally put my father in his resting place.

I came across Charter Finders and saw they were veteran owned. I contacted them via telephone, they answered all of my questions, and were extremely polite. They offer a discount for veterans and first responders which was nice and was a draw for us. We knew we were likely in good hands. The boat leaves from Sea Dog Brewery which was great for grabbing drinks to go and bring with! They make a good seltzer FYI. Dean and Tim had a cooler with ice on board where you could throw your own booze. There were only 6 other people on board and it made for a much better experience. We made friends and just sat back and relaxed. We were able to see dolphins up close on the way to shell key island and back. (See attached photo) Once we were at shell key advice was provided as to where to find shells. Some of us had high success. We were unable to snorkel due to visibility. The island is beautiful and not populated. The trip was roughly 3 hours long, but they were nice enough to extend it an hour so we got very very lucky. We highly recommend Dean & Tim and cannot wait to go again in the future.

However, the boat itself was older and showed quite a bit of wear and tear. Unfortunately, we were very disappointed with the experience overall. Our kids were especially excited about snorkeling and finding seas shells but when we arrived at Shell Key island, it was so crowded that the boat wasn't able to dock anywhere. The captain took us to a different location, but the snorkeling there was very poor, and we were only able to stay about 45 minutes because our time was almost up. Overall, the trip did not meet our expectations. I wish I would have done a little more research and booked with a different company.

Around 7:22am the number texted my husband saying he wasn't notified that we booked the trip and he would not be able to take us out that morning. Fish Pro Charters - Captain Kellen…read more Captain Kellen Ankrum flat out worked his butt off for us! My teenage son and I had fished a short trip with him last autumn. I liked him enough to book two full-day trips with him for myself and a buddy 8 mos in advance. So last week, we fished for Tarpon, Grouper, Snapper (several kinds), Amberjack, and even caught a Cobia and hooked a small shark. The AmberJack fight like banshees, and the Grouper were big enough to stress your arms to the max! I have never tasted fish as sweet as Mangrove Snapper and Red Snapper. We limited out easily in the first 90 minutes! We fished in-shore; Tampa Bay under the Sunshine bridge; sandbars; "the Hole"; and 40+ miles off-shore on those two days. Had a blast!!! Knowledgeable, friendly, laid back, smooth boat, adjusts his methods to your level of ability, and just flat out works hard!!! Just don't book him on the days I go back!!!
