I went here with my partner over a year ago, and I just thought about all the places I miss since Covid-19 made its way to Australia and shut everything down. This is one of those places. We had some time to kill before we had to head to the airport to get back to Melbourne, so we thought we'd try our hand at getting somewhere in Circular Quay. Of course, we walked in without a reservation, but they were accomodating and let us sit at the bar, which we love to do in the first place.
As we are both vegan and this was an Italian restaurant (the two don't generally go together very well) we were pleasantly surprised by the amount that they could offer us.
We started with a couple of negroni cocktails and marinated olives, followed by a gorgeous vegetarian woodfire pizza and truffle parmesan fries. It was such a pleasant experience from start to finish.
I would like to note that it was 7:00 pm when we arrived, so the place was completely packed. However, that did not slow the service whatsoever.
Nice job Salt Meats Cheese, for making vegans feel welcome in a carnivore's world. read more
