There are two Best Western hotels in Danville, IL, one off the I74 interstate and this one near…read moredowntown Danville. My review is about the Best Western Riverside Inn which is near downtown Danville. I had never been in the property before and I was very pleased with my overnight stay there. The exterior is that of an older hotel, but the interior has been comprehensively updated over the years. Very clean! The hotel features an outdoor pool which is covered by a pool cover and there is more than adequate signage concerning safety issues for those who use it.gues For business travelers: there is a small office center on the first floor that has a PC and an inkjet printer. I do not think that Microsoft Word nor Excel (or any other software packages) are loaded onto the hotel's PC for guests in the office center so a laptop with those software packages would be needed here. I did not see a fax machine and am presuming that they would be sent and received by the employees at the front desk. Concerning receipt of FedEx packages, I would contact the hotel directly to confirm that this can be done. Lastly, concerning meeting rooms, I would contact the hotel directly to confirm whether they can - or cannot - do this. This is a two-story hotel with no elevator. If one needs to avoid stairs ask for a room on the first floor. Accessible rooms are also available for booking on the Best Western's webpage. Parking is outside close to the hotel property. Very good hot breakfast typical of what was served pre-COVID including healthy choices like fruit. Advice to those approaching the hotel from Danville's downtown: as soon as you approach the bridge the Best Western Riverside Inn comes up very quickly and it's on your right just outside of a wooded area. Very very helpful staff. The Best Western Riverside Inn near downtown Danville is definitely recommended.

It had a full kitchenette with a full sized refrigerator. Climate control worked well and room was quiet. My wife enjoyed the view of farmland from our window, and the whole property backs up to a heavily forested area. Morning breakfast was good and they offered custom omelets. They use the modern NFC key cards that I really like since I've had frequent problems with the magnetic strip version demagnetizing on me.

I showed up the day of my check in a little early (15 to 20 minutes) and asked if by chance the room was ready? I was told, no, not yet. Give it 20 minutes. The guy at the desk looked confused after checking a list. Then told me my room wasn't on the list to be cleaned that day. Again I was told to give it 20 minutes. So I waited. 20 minutes go by and I came back up to the desk. I asked if my room was ready and was told they would check. A few minutes later they came back and I was told they are having the cleaning staff clean it. Please wait 30 minutes. So I waited again. I gave it 40 minutes and approached the desk again to ask about the room. After they went and checked I was told, No. It's not ready yet. By this time I was getting fed up. I let them know this wasn't good. They checked to see if there were any other rooms available with a kitchen. None. I waited another 5 to 10 minutes and was told they would check me in. I arrived at the room to find feces on the toilet seat. The bathroom sink hadn't been cleaned very well. The microwave was dirty. There were stains on the wall inside the bathroom. Dirty silverware. A rusted out filty stove burner. I cleaned the toilet, sink and microwave myself. On the second day we noticed the shower head was leaking out the bottom, and there wasn't much water pressure because of that. Reported it and was told a ticket would be made for it to be fixed. My key card also stopped working and they reactivated it. On the third day the shower still wasn't fixed. My key card again stopped working. Had to go to the front desk again. I was told the person who gave it to me didn't activate it for 3 nights, only one, and he would let the manager know about this. The only thing this place has going for it, is the breakfast. Made to order omlettes. The sausage links and potatoes weren't bad. The coffee sucks.

It is in and area surrounded by other hotels and one gas station across the street. There is a casino down the road that houses a couple of restaurants and using the Yelp app there are a few within 5 miles. This hotel was clean and quiet and our room, for a standard king was spacious, as was the bathroom with a walk in shower. Both desk staff and breakfast attendant were friendly. The breakfast area was open about 15 minutes prior to 6 am and allowed us to grab and go for the road. Hard boiled eggs and some fruit were appreciated. There were sweets available also for a grab and go. The only thing we did not appreciate at the time was the high price, especially with the pool closed until 2027. $169.51. And they were not very busy this particular date according to the vehicles in the parking lot.

Needless to say, I think it is worth the extra time to drive towards Champaign. For me, I think this hotel best serves as a stop if you have had a long travel day and you just need a quick place to crash. It is right off the highway with many other hotels, but that is really about it. There are no restaurants within walking distance, nothing really to do by the hotel and anything meaningful is at least a 10 minute drive. At least the Golden Nugget Casino is close. The hotel itself just feels kind of old and needs some upkeeping for sure. The rooms themselves are okay, spacious, with a mini fridge, microwave and air conditioning. The furniture is not in great shape in any of the rooms I've stayed in, with the couches feeling old and worn out and the wooden structures starting to wear out so you can see the interior wood. The beds are at least comfortable and clean. On my last visit, I had a problem with the hot water in my room. The staff were nice enough to move me, but I was surprised when I couldn't take a shower in the morning before some meetings. Additionally, the internet here is pretty poor, it is tough to get things done with the WiFi on site. The gym is pretty well equipped, but I think some people stole some of the dumbells because there are a bunch that are missing. The pool seems to be closed for the rest of the year. Kind of a bummer! I would suggest staying here only if you need to. If you can forge on towards Champaign for an extra hour, I really think it is worth it. I've stayed at so many different Hilton hotels, and this one is definitely not equipped for people to stay for long durations!
