It's salt and straw. Were you expecting me to be disappointed? Unlimited samples, friendly staff and legit flavors. Indoor seating is limited, and most is outdoors. The lines can get long, especially on Fridays and Saturdays. You can buy a pint to go... if a kids size scoop isn't enough. Love the chocolate gooey brownie!!! And so will you.

We have been here a dozen+ times. Love being able to try a few flavors before committing and being able to do the half scoop options. Service has always been great- friendly and accommodating. Wish there was more seating, but appreciate how clean it is in the store.

We love coming to salt and straw! They always shock us with the different type of flavors they have, you never know what's in store. I love that you get to taste test some and then you can mix and match if you like multiple flavors. There's so many good choices in the staff is really nice and accommodating. There are no tables to sit inside, so just beware!

Ice Cream!

I really love the flavors. Tried a few and and got the pineapple upside down cake ice cream. And a chocolate one. No wait! Then a hoard of people came in. It never dissapoints. No matter how long the line is. Just give me the ice-cream!

Love salt and straw. We came after dinner at 6 and it was the emptiest I've ever seen a salt and straw. I wasn't even planning on getting anything since I thought ugh I don't rlly like cereal month but I sampled all the cereal flavors and I had to get a split scoop of the pb brownie and pots of gold. I didn't remember the pots of gold being that good last year. The samples were extremely generous and I rlly appreciated it since it's easier to tell if you like it or not. Workers were rlly nice. Anyways, I luv SS.

Staff is wonderful. We come frequently as we live in the area. Honestly haven't had anything but great service and experiences.

You really can't go wrong with any Salt & Straw location but I swear the Lake O store is special. The ice cream is always perfectly rich and creamy and the staff encourages you to try every flavor. We loved all of the seasonal flavors! There wasn't a taste we didn't enjoy. Our group decided to get "split scoops" so we could try two of our favorites and we all wished we had ordered more. It was that good! Sure, you're going to pay more for this ice cream but I swear it's worth it. Where else can you get high quality ice cream with wildly original flavor profiles? It's worth the extra buck.

I dream about this ice cream as if I ate it yesterday. It's so smooth and creamy with the perfect amount of cookie bites in it. It's not too sweet which is what I was afraid of when I first tried it. I literally ate it every single day of my trip, I wish there was a location closer to me, but at the same time I don't as I would gain a lot of weight. The waffle bowl is divine, if you get there at the right time, you can actually see them making them. I love tasting the vanilla in it, it's super crispy and you can tell it's very fresh. If you are nearby a salt and straw location definitely give it a try. I'm glad we did!

Salt and straw is a oregon based camp any that has since expanded to several states. They have stable flavors and monthly rotating flavors. On this particular visit they line was out the door, despite this the workers moved quickly to get us our ice cream! I appreciate their vegan flavors as dairy is sensitive on my stomach. They have extremely limited seating, almost non-existent. They also have almost no toppings. I'm sad they got rid of the hot fudge, it was delicious.

It still good not so sweet ice cream! The coffee and love nuts was very enjoyable and hit the spot on a Monday evening. The staff has always been very friendly and pleasant to me. Thankfully they are patience while we make up our mind on what we want. The Lake Oswego location could us way more seating!

All the staff is super friendly. This location is popular and crowded but tables open up fast. There is indoor and outdoor seating. Not enough for the crowd but most people take cones or cups to go. I typically order a pint for the house. As Frasier would say, "nirvana ain't cheap". LOL Now that's funny! The ice cream is not only delicious, but also has crazy flavors. I"m a vanilla man, so I purchased the Double Fold Vanilla. If you want to try some exotic flavors this is the spot. Great place for a change of the ordinary!

Back for more ice cream!!! While I love to order an ice cream cone or cup, we more recently have been picking up pints, typically two, to go and take home. That was true for last night as well. The staff, as they always are, was friendly and welcoming. In fact, the woman who assisted us allowed me to try three different flavors before landing on a pint of one of my favorites; gooey chocolate. This location is great because later in the evening it is relatively easy to find parking, the line wasn't too long, the store is clean and the crew working are friendly. Will I be back? Um, yes, absolutely. I am an ice cream fan and a big fan of Salt & Straw. YUM!!!

It'd be tough to imagine a better ice cream shop. This place had a line 20 people at the door so we knew it would be worth trying. We were able to get in pretty quickly, and were instantly met with you recognizable aroma of hot, fresh waffle cones. The ambience makes it feel a little bit more upscale, but the staff is so friendly and makes it a fun and casual place to get some delicious ice cream. They let me sample almost every flavor and seemed excited that I wanted to keep trying. They serve a wide variety of classic and more non-traditional flavors. I ended up getting a scoop of olive oil and a scoop of their special cookie dough, but would have been delighted with all of the options. They were all lusciously creamy, and the flavors were excellent!

Ask the Community - Salt & Straw

Is parking difficult to find?

Street parking might but there is an awesome FREE parking garage super close to it!

Are there any gluten free options at Salt and Straw? I want to take a niece there who has celiac disease.

Yes there are! They are not labelled but several of their yummy options are gluten free if you ask.

A Lake O fave! Not a bad meal here for me yet. We also ordered a classic burger which was cooked to perfection, juicy and flavorful, and sat on a pillowy brioche bun. So good! Service was delight, our server was friendly and super informative. OK, so the fries were not as crispy as we'd like but that's not a dealbreaker. The space is great, the upstairs is nice and woody and warm, with a patio overlooking the street giving it a Euro vibe.

The bartender (a more mature fellow) was casually talking to someone, not serving him - standing in the restaurant talking. No one acknowledged we were there - or they would come back in a min. There were obviously plenty of people working a gal was putting candles on tables etc - we waited TEN mins to even have someone come over and give us a menu. The bartender seemed irritated at my question of did they have a pinot gris in the happy hour menu. "no, only chardonnay". And, when I asked for a taste - also seemed to irritate him. The food is great here - that is without question, which is why we went. And, it didn't disappoint. However - receiving the bill - there is a weird ADDED $1.25 for a "Hosting Fee"... Hosting Fee??? what the heck is thattttt. (if you google it will tell you that it's for 'helping the employees' basically) What? Then, I had gotten a regular non-premium martini. It says in menu Well Drinks are $8. A regular martini is just their well vodka and should be that. The charge for the martini was $12.00! Never going back - the service was lously. They are padding their prices and I can get much better treatment (and pours) at Five Spice or Tucci!

Absolutely love Willamette Valley Vineyards!…read more Staff were amazing and it feels like they genuinely care for you. Extremely knowledgeable about the wines. This location is interesting because it's located in a strip mall. With that being said, inside the ambiance is great.

It's spacious, with lots of different types of seating options, from tables in the center of the main dining room to booths and a fun little wine barrel-esque 4-top table by the windows. There's also an indoor little fire pit with seating around that by the front window. There's plenty of parking in the parking lot, so that's never been an issue for us. The wines are wonderful, as expected. WVV has expanded its portfolio over the years and includes a nice array of labels so you can get your classic Oregon Pinot Noirs and Chardonnays, as well as more robust reds like Tempranillo and Syrah. The bubbles are always a good choice here, and the rosé is usually a crowd pleaser. The menu here is small, but mighty, and the quality of the food has always been top notch, in our experience. On Wednesdays, there's a happy hour menu. On our most recent visit, we loved the tarragon shrimp and the mushrooms. The truffle fries were fine, but tasted more like standard garlic fries and not so much truffle fries. While I love having a wine bar/restaurant like this in this area, the one thing that has been disappointing is that I have noticed the service has gone downhill since it first opened. It's not bad, but it's also not as attentive, warm and welcoming, or knowledgeable (re: the wines) as it once was. So one star was knocked off for the just-okay service, but otherwise, this is a fantastic spot for foodies and wine lovers alike if you are in the Lake O area!
