Disappointing experience at this cat adoption center. The staff seemed disinterested and unhelpful, making it hard to get any information about the animals. read more

Specialties

Salsa’s Legacy Rescue is a small, foster-based cat rescue rooted in love and compassion. Founded in memory of a beloved cat named Salsa, we focus on giving second chances to the cats who need it most—those who are abandoned, injured, or overlooked. Every cat in our care lives in a home, not a cage, receiving individualized attention, vet care, and socialization until they’re ready for adoption. We’re a community-driven rescue, fully volunteer-run, and 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Whether you’re looking to adopt, foster, or support, you’re helping save lives—one cat at a time.

Month later, after weekly phone calls from me, found out chipper needed new engine, one they would cover. One month later, still do not have my chipper back, still have to call them weekly for an update and am still being told "It is almost done. Will be done soon". I am happy they are honoring the warranty but not happy that not once have they reached out to me to tell me what is happening. I always have to call. And 2 months later, still do not have my chipper.

I will admit I was slacking this year on yard work. Which I shouldn't have because I slacked the…read moreyear before during the time my mom was sick. I had a reason last year, not this year. So late summer I started doing the overdue yard-work and maintenance I needed to do. One of the last things I tackled was the river-rock I needed to buy. The area where I have my flowers started getting overgrown by weeds because I had not been replacing the river-rock of the area that slowly erodes over time. I had the weeds removed and now needed to fill the areas. Fall was approaching and I wanted this done before it got too cold. I came by Laymans to get the material I needed. They had all kinds of stone/rock for me to purchase. I had to buy it think 8 buckets of river rock to fill what I needed. I bought them over several trips. The price was reasonable. You need to put down a $3 deposit for the buckets, you get it back when you return, which makes sense. I got my task done in time and can now focus on my next yard task in the fall... leaves... so many leaves I will have to rake/blow... As an aside, I will say Layman's has a huge selection. Come here for whatever you need for the yard. While I was coming, they also had put out tons of pumpkins for fall, huge ones so if you want to decorate for fall, this may be your place. Service is also excellent, the staff is very friendly! Will be coming here in the future!

Joe's Repair

Joe is the Man for parts and service on appliances!…read more I have been working with Joe for years now. He has always been extremely helpful to me when I just needed a part for my dishwasher, or clothes dryer. I am generally a DYI kind of guy first then if I can't do it, I call a professional, and that is what Joe is. Today I called Joe, and just by chance he was able to come right out to help me with my refrigerator going on the blink. If it was 15 minutes from when I called him, I doubt it. I would not expect the service to be that fast everytime, but he has always been very diligent for me. His services are not cheap, not expensive, but reasonably priced for a call out and considering all the help he is given me in the past and some extra advice about my dishwasher and other appliances, I would say he gives great value for the price he charges. By all means, call Joe. From my experience he has been great. An Ottawa Resident.
