The classes were fun yet challenging. The teachers and students were all pleasant and welcoming. Overall it was great experience. Definitely recommend.

The dancers were super professional, dressed elegantly, and really breathed life into the song that the orchestra (hired from a separate company) played. I paid a flat rate per dancer, which included the performance and 50 minutes of rehearsal time before the proposal to give the dancers a chance to rehearse with the orchestra since they had not worked together before; Urbanity Dance was worth every penny and then some! The final performance was exactly what I had envisioned, and I especially appreciated that the dancer who performed last (Joy) finished her solo with a "lyrical invitation" for my partner and I to follow her to the predetermined proposal spot - this aligned perfectly with the music as it was fading out, and allowed for perfect photography/videography coverage - plus the two of us were in such a daze as everything was happening that we definitely needed the clear guidance Joy provided. Big big thank you to my POC, Cayley, and each of the dancers who made this possible: Genny, Katie, Haley, and Joy.

Serena and G, in particular, have made me grow so much as a dancer in terms of musicality, technique, and improvisation. The classes are challenging, technical, but simultaneously a total delight. The masacote community is fun, welcoming, and full of fantastic dancers and friends. I can't imagine a better studio. Go now!

I had to stop going for a while because of work/school, but I recently started going again and I've found these classes to be the most fulfilling type of self-care. Something that sets Masacote apart is the great community. Everyone is so friendly, from Greg at the front desk, to each of the instructors and even the students in the advanced classes. Tana, Audrey and Dave are great instructors. They are very skilled dancers but they also know how to communicate and translate that into skillful instruction. They really went/go out of their way to make sure I learn what I need to learn. They call themselves the Masa Tribe. While it was hard for me to see myself as part of something like a salsa dancing club, I see now why that name makes so much sense. I really feel I'm a part of a team every Tuesday and Thursday when I go to class, and even beyond that. I really recommend these classes to anyone who wants to learn to dance, to have fun or simply to meet wonderful people and make new friends. The location at the CAC is very nice and easily accessible. There is free parking after 5 pm. And the class prices are pretty affordable too!

Overall, the education has been top-notch, with some unnecessary/ill-designed classes (e.g. Community Heath) along the way. The clinical placements have been exceptional. I've been on the Cardiac Surgery Step Down Unit, a Med-Surg Telemetry Unit, and General Med Unit all at MGH; the Lemuel Shattuck Hospital in JP; and McLean Hospital's Eval Center for my advanced placement clinical. However, your placement depends upon your curriculum coordinator and the clinical placement coordinator. They have Adult Primary Care, Adult-Gerontology, Adult-Women, Pediatrics, Pedi Psych, Family, Acute Care, and Psych Adult Tracks. The program is intensive. 3 years full-time, summers free to work or take classes. They do NOT help you get a job, but they do teach you good networking skills. It's expensive, to the tune of 30,000K/year, in addition to books and supplies. They offer some cool, fun classes: HIV/AIDS Nursing, Mind-Body Nursing, International Health, and Refugee/Immigrant Health. My year they accepted 100 students, major overkill, especially when you are all in one room. Privacy and autonomy relinquished. You do band together, because it's like enduring bootcamp baby. Only the strong survive. Any questions, shoot me a message!
