My friends and I attended this restaurant tonight for dinner. We waited a long time for our drinks. We felt like we were waiting a long time for our food, and then we realized we had. Finally the waitress came over and told us something got messed up and she just had to re-put in the order. She said it'd be about 10 minutes. We waited about 20 minutes when they finally slowly brought out our food. It was not that good and my friends' steak fajitas were not super warm and most of the pieces of steak were fatty. To make it worse, no one came over during our meal to ask how it was, even after having to wait so long. Would NOT recommend this place to others. Don't waste your time. read more

My favourite place in London ! I love this place! For me, one of the best place of latin music in London(salsa, merengue ...) where you can meet a lot of very nice latin people! Friendly atmosphere and salsa lessons for everybody. The place to be for people who like latin music ! read more

Happy hour until 8pm - great music and people... food well - hence only four stars

Dined here once before and really enjoyed it. Decided to go again to take advantage of half price specials last Sunday with my husband. We were greeted at the door and directed to go downstairs where we waited at least five minutes to be seated as there was no one attending to guests on the dining area. The bar, dance floor and dining room were nearly empty but the music was set to a deafening volume. We asked if the volume could be turned down, and the staff obliged us, but it was still quite loud. We ordered nachos with our drinks but were told that there were none available, so we opted for some wings, which were teriyaki glazed with hot sauce (weird combination for the theme of the establishment). I ordered a grilled chicken sandwich which was served on a very stale bun and was so over marinated that it was probably completely cooked before it hit the grill. This was served with a paltry side salad instead of the fries listed on the menu. When the dessert menu was delivered and our server announced there were no churros available. We guessed that the fryer must have been out of service. Wish we'd been told this prior to eating here. So disappointing. We won't be back. read more

The WORST night I've ever had in London!!! I was really curious about this place, some friends told me about it good things others bad things but as always you can never say anything unless you go and watch it for yourself. here is what will happen if you go to try to find out. - unwelcoming people that will just ask you to pay money and more money with their large faces, as if they are doing a favour to receive you (this has never happened to me in other salsa places, usually latin people are really nice) - the hottest environment you can ever find (and i don't mean it like hot for good place, it is actually hot as hell) as soon as you enter you may want to take out your coat or jacked, it is insupportable. - the music and the people is ok at the beginning. - later if you want to dance you will end with somebody else's sweat (disgusting!!) but if you don't mind I'll tell you that the room is so big that this will happen anywhere inside the place. (truly.. disgusting!) - i tend to forget my camera in my coat so when me and my friends want to take some pictures i just go back to the cloak room and say please can i have my coat back for a second and grab my camera and give my coat back. this has happened to me three times and the two first nobody had any trouble. but in this place they wanted to charge me again. ¿? it makes no sense!! - so if you have a complain, talk to the bouncer who will be happy to find any word you say to use it as excuse to hit you and show that he is stronger than you. This is what make the best of the night, i asked to talk with the manager in a really calm way and he just started yelling at me, man definitely you should never tolerate this behaviour from anybody, specially if you are paying for something. oh yeah i almost forget, and he will call his other two bouncer friends because they want to make sure they have the last word. I am terrible disappointed from this place and i will publish this as much as i can, but my recommendation is, 'find it out your self' you'll see that it is not worth it!!! there are plenty of better places to learn and dance salsa in London!! Been here once a couple of years ago and I would not go back .I am used to dancing salsa in out of town places where people are friendly and fun. This place on a saturday night was absolutely rammed full of people, it was hot, sweaty and disgusting and sadly so too were most of the men. We danced with a few people since that is what we had come for but it seems to attract people that think they are amazing dancers and if you are not up to their standard they don't want to know -even after they have asked you to dance without knowing if you are any good! A lot of sweaty, sleezy guys that are there just to grind around with a few women taking advantage of the stupidly packed dance floor to do this! I'm sure some lovely people go there too but hopefully they will find out there are better places to go and leave the rest of them there ! The bar prices I seem to recall were average for London prices really. read more

Well what can I say about this dive. We went there on a saturday night in a large party to celebrate a birthday. We arrived at 6pm in order to take advantage of the lessons. these are supposed to start at 6pm but didnt due to the late arrival of the instructor, so they started over an hour late! Upon arrival my wife and some of her friends visited the toilets and were absolutlely disgusted in the state they were in, public toilets are better cleaned!. When we sat down to eat the plated and cutlery stuck to the cheap plastic tableclothes which obviously dont get cleaned regularly, and it would be hard to see the dirt as the lighting is so dim. We were served our main course and despite complaining that there was a serving missing, it never arrived. I went to drink out of a glass and cut my lip on the sharp broken edge, again due to the dim lighting I did not notice this, I complained to the staff and was just given a clean glass with no apology. This place also probably breaks fire regs and health and safety rules due to the large numbers of people in there, many who block the aisles between tables, and because of this a waitress( sic) dropped a whole tray of orders on the floor, which went over peoples feet etc , again no apology and no attempt made to stop people walking through the area and potentially slipping up. If you enjoy salsa the dancefloor is too cramped to do any dancing and the bar area becomes another makeshift cramped dance area. This place is also full of letchorous men so women beware you will get touched up! read more

Went to Bar salsa last night.First went back in the 90s. I introduced all my friends to it for many years. Not been in 5 years tho. Coz of my intro to the place 2 of my best friends ended up teaching salsa there years ago and one of their aunties taught Salsa for decades at bar salsa. So u can imagine my love & respect for the place. My friend decided to do her birthday there last night, with dinner. Here's where my respect for the bouncers and management changed.In all these years I have never had my human rights violated. There wasn't enough space at the table so the waitress said i'll have to order at the bar near the restaurant and gave us a space to stand and eat. I went to the barman to order. He was so rude and told me rudely that I have to order at the bar on the other side. I tried to explain that I was with the birthday table and waitress said its ok. He didnt even want to hear me.Didnt lemme speak and carried on with his stuff. I thought how rude and manner less. I did get my order done after as the waitress who told me took it. Anyways the worst is about to come.keep reading. So i was having fun. laughing. Had just one pina colada. There were lots of barrels between dance area and restaurant. my friend went past between couple of people standing near the barrels.I went to go past with a little gap left. Remember its very loud and no one will hear 'excuse me'. As im going past i felt a push from the back of my bottom so naturally i wanted to move and not be stuck between a barrel and someones bum with me facing away from the person.So i struggled to push through. I turned around and this woman about 5.5f very aggressive looking said to me in full aggression.you have to say excuse me not push. I said i was sorry didnt realize i did that. Then she goes you pushed the wrong person, she would not lemme talk and grabbed my arm so tight and brought it next to her face.I didn't know who she was even. She started bombarding me in full anger and immense aggressive as if she wanted to punch me and harm me. She kept accusing me saying u dont do that, u have to say excuse,its not your lucky day, u picked the wrong person, (she was shouting at me)you have to say excuse me. She repeated several times. I could not get a word in. I thought she was really drunk and having a bad day. So i just said I didnt know and she let go of me. She was so angry still and kept repeating the same thing, so i said' what is wrong with you, it was an accident' then she said 'u watch me what I'm gonna do to you, u picked the wrong person'. I thought she was gonna punch me with the finger pointing and violent way of talking. So I naturally fought back for my life before she punches me I said 'what u gonna do?' She agitated me so much that I nearly had a heart attack. She laughed in a wicked way and said 'watch me'. I am 5.2. I look about 25 years old. A sweet and gentle person who hardly ever gets angry.I didnt have any alcohol even. I only just pushed a little without realising. No one fell or was hurt. Not even a bruise was caused. I was not even rude to her. So after that I thought she will punch me. I see a bouncer calling me out with her behind. They led me outside and in front of the crowd this woman started shouting at me repeating the same as before, 'you pushed, you say excuse me, then u said what u gonna do. I'm the manager, ur not allowed in the club.' I was like why would a manager intentionally get aggressive when i only just accidentally pushed to free myself from her squashing me. She is supposed to diffuse the situation not aggravate and promote violence by using her position. She cud have politely pulled me aside and said, you pushed me, please do not do that and say excuse.she should have listened to my apology and let it be. A manager is supposed to set an example not show off that violence and aggression is the way to handle things. Even if I pushed through intentionally she still should have been professional and spoken to me politely. I thought I bet she did that intentionally just so she can show off she is a manager and how powerful she is.I stood outside with no jacket on. I heard her say to the security 'she swore at me blah blah....she's not comin in' I was like I neva swore even. It was unreal how she used her position to suppress, intimidate and antagonize me on purpose.She made me look like i was a criminal, like I beat someone up or I hit someone with a glass or something. I even explained to the senior security. He was so polite and started laughing with me when I was explaining what happened in a joking way. I was not even angry I found it hilarious that she got me chucked out because I have a big bum and it by accident pushed her a little. Comon get a life!!! She obviously has mental issues or is underpaid and really hates her job. for someone to turn a situation into an aggressive and violent threat to a customer, that manager has stress related issues either at work or in her personal life. read more

9 of us decided to go to Bar Salsa after a regular salsa class in Piccadilly Circus. 4 of us were already there and ordered the first round of cocktails. We saw an empty table for 4 on the lower floor and we took it. The waitress took menus to us and we proceed to order starters and another round of cocktails. She promptly told us that if we are not ordering main courses we will have to leave the table (this was at 21:30 sunday 20th October, there was no one else waiting for a table), and also that we cant order cocktails from the table but will have to go to the bar - this is despite them providing us with the cocktail menu at the table. I asked to speak to the manager and that was a mistake, this woman was very condescending and quite disgusting in her manners to be frank. We tried to argue that if we are ordering from the menu we should be served - as in any other restaurant, but the manager - having not the slightest modicum of hospitality - actually turned it into a shouting argument and called the bouncers to throw us out saying we are threatening her and pointing in her face - despite the fact that we were sitting and she was standing over us. And also that I swore at her because I said this was "bullshit" Even the bouncer conceded that "its not right but he has a job to do so we should let it go" (his words) So we left and took our money with us to another bar. So they missed out on 8 more rounds of £6.75 cocktails and starters, I guess you guys are happier with only one or two persons having a main course than orders that would more than cover that manager's £8/hour salary for that night. I call that stupid. Our salsa class average 20 persons several nights a week, and some of us usually walk up to bar salsa afterwards, but we will go and practice somewhere else from now on. read more

I have mixed feelings about this place. The main draw for me are the half price drinks :-D its called 'Happy Hour' but it's more like Happy Lifetime. granted, happy hour ends at 8pm or sobut for someone who gets there in the afternoon (read: me) it's more than enough time to get contentedly sloshed! some of the staff are beyond lovely unfortunately, most of them have major attitude issues that they need to resolve before coming to work within a customer service environment. The salsa lessons are great for beginner-intermediate dancers, as they enable you master some steps before the real boogying of the night starts, so that you a) do not embarrass yourself on the dancefloor and b) will have met a few people that you can then dance with. i have only ever had tapas here (which were simply so-so), and that is due to the fact that the main meal menu simply isn't exciting enough to entice me into parting with my money. all in all, Salsa! is lovely for salsa, lessons, and pre-party drinks but i wouldn't complete my night here. read more
