We have giant pine trees and a heap of pepper trees surrounding our property. This is the second time we have used Sal's Tree service and are very pleased with the quality of work and the pricing. I was able to get an estimate via texting photos to Sal, with understanding price to be confirmed once he was onsite. With these Santa Ana winds we were concerned about the heavy branches breaking in the wind and causing serious damage to our house or fencing. This guy stood me up not once, but twice! He gave a quote on my junk removal and said he'd be here the next day. Waited around all day, no call/no show/no return texts. The next day he texted that he dropped his phone in water the night before (what about the daytime when the appt. was?) and would come out the next day. Well guess what? No call/no show/ no text again. Do not rely on this guy at all! What a terrible way to do business. I have had very large tree trimming jobs and a huge leaning eucalyptus tree removed by Sal's Tree Service. Both jobs were complicated by horses being in pastures nearby, gates to go through and keep closed, pasture fencing and irrigation just below the trees. All work done was Excellent. All communication was professional and respectful. The property was cleaned up after the work. In the case of the huge leaning eucalyptus tree, this tree was leaning precariously, a danger to my horse and property as well as dangerous to cut down. I cannot speak highly enough of the expertise used to remove this tree. In addition to removing the tree, quartering and leaving the wood piled, the entire area was cleaned up. A small canopy of nearby eucalyptus were expertly trimmed for safety and proper growth. This has allowed this area to give shade and continue to be a haven for wild birds. We called Sal on a Saturday morning, & he came out to give us a quote that afternoon. His price was very fair, so we hired him. He came back to our place about a week later (per our request). The job included fixing a palm that was blown over from a recent storm. The palm was barely hanging on, but still had a few roots still in the ground. Sal & his team pulled the palm upright, then supported it w/ 2 large stakes. They also trimmed many large trees & shrubs on our 4 acre property, skinned 2 fan palms, fixed an arbor & finally hauled a large amount of old junk away. The job was completed in 1 day, w/ about 2.5 hours of cleaning up the following day! We were very pleased w/ the service that we received. I had a 30 yr old queen palm protruding into the sidewalk at a rental property in Carmel Valley. I called three places plus my existing gardener for a quote to remove it with the stump. After msg my pictures he responded same day and gave me the lowest bid and was able to come in within two days to cut it down. I was really shocked that Sal came by himself and I didn't think that he would be able to get this done alone. I had a smaller palm removed a few years ago at a different rental property and it took three guys half a day. The trunk blocks are so heavy and this guy did the whole job by himself in a few hours so I asked him if he would remove 4 old 14 ft tall woody shrubs in my back yard for additional fee and he said no problem. He grinded the palm stump and the trees roots and hauled away a huge load. All this time I was amazed to watch this small man work so fast and so hard. Later in the day I found out that he is a bull rider as well and that's why he has the stamina and love for tough jobs. He has truly exceeded my expectations and I will hire him again.
