He really helped us plan and basically hand hold and walk us through the entire process from conceptualizing our options, where to buy materials, even color and design recommendations. He gave us an aggressive time window for job completion which was important to us with the Holidays looming; and he nailed it - finishing with time to spare. The work was absolutely meticulous, and the attention to details and small nuances make such a huge difference! He even went around to touch up and improve other details around the area not in the scope of the job; just because he thought it would improve the aesthetic and he takes so much pride in his work. This guy is a real artisan - not a laborer. He genuinely enjoys crafting beautiful work and it shows. Our kitchen came out mint - better than we even expected! In all honesty, he was so good at what he does we would be willing to pay MORE to have him work on our stuff than other contractors. We had just finished a kitchen remodel in January 2019 (replaced all the cabinets, countertops, and…read morelights), but the floorman we'd contracted with had left us high and dry. We had subfloor and while we could have installed the new laminate floor we had, we'd have done a horrible job at it. Lou Gagne was highly recommended to us by a local business, many of whose employees had used his services. We gave him a call that evening. He came out to see us a couple days later and we discussed what had to be done. Install the laminate floor throughout the kitchen, dining room, and attached hallway, install baseboard everywhere but the kitchen, and install threshold where required. He said it would take two days and gave us a reasonable price. OK, so that's the background. Here's what we got. We got a perfectly installed floor, perfectly installed baseboard, someone who really enjoys his work (he sings to his boom box while on the job!), and he fixed some things that a previous contractor hadn't done right because it bugged him and only took a few minutes. The join between the living and dining rooms is perfect. My wife and I did the living room, and not particularly well. He matched the grout lines in the laminate perfectly. In the kitchen he got the laminate floor so close to the cabinets it looks like the floor goes under the cabinets. His idea of using gray grout was perfect as it matches the grout lines in the floor. These walls in our house are not square, but you'd never know it when you look at the baseboard corners. It didn't matter whether it was an inside or outside corner, in close quarters or not, Lou did it perfectly. He also screwed our subfloor down as it wasn't correctly nailed into the joists during construction in 1986. Can you say "squeak"? Not anymore! Lou also gave us some ideas of how we're going to do the backsplash in our kitchen and behind the stove, which we're going to take him up on as soon as possible. My wife and I trust Lou completely. When he says he can do something, he can really do it. Fair price, great work, and it really gives us pride of ownership in our home again. And at some point, we're going to find a figurine that represents what he can do and how well he does it, even if we need to design it ourselves.

One of the decks required removal of a flight of stairs and both needed to have the railings reinforced. Working with Gabriel to make this happen was a pleasure! He is very personable and responsible -- in other words, his standards are very high as reflected by the outcome of our decks repair project. Not only did his team do a great job repairing our worn decks, but also they cleaned the work spaces thoroughly each day. All in all, we are very pleased and intend to contact Gabriel Iwano whenever we have a construction project in the future.

Scraping, power washing, priming, caulking, carpentry and repairs as needed, and 2 coats of California paint. The job was done, but in less than 3 years I had significant pealing and cracking on 3 sides of the house. 3 years is past the 2-year guarantee, but the level of failure experienced in such a short time should have been addressed. I brought it to Gabriel's attention and offered to supply the paint and to address the first story issues myself. I just wanted the parts that required 2nd story work to be done with his labor. He agreed, BUT ONLY IF I PAID. I moved on from this supplier. In addition to this, when originally doing the job, he did not address an area where rotting wood should have been replaced. Neglecting the repair at that time resulted in much more advanced damage and required more rework and with it more cost when it was addressed. When I hired Gabriel, the carpentry was on a time and material basis and would not have cost him profit from the paint job. Doing the work would have resulted in more revenue for him. Do not use this supplier. He does not do the work correctly and if it does fail, he does not stand behind his work.

The guy who arrived to do the work seemed a little unprepared (no voltmeter and I had to give him directions to True Value to pick one up). Ultimately, he couldn't complete the job that I wanted done and told me that I needed an electrician as I had a wiring problem. The electrician I later had out said that it wasn't a wiring problem, but a problem with installation of the fixture. I didn't know who was right, but in the end, I'm happy to have the light working again. I contacted Bob and let him know what the electrician said. While Bob disagreed, he still offered to refund my money. Such customer service is very hard to find and I was a little blow away by it. So, they have earned my respect. I would use them in the future, but probably not for electrical work based on this experience.

Frank was a no show to give me an estimate, no communication that he was running late or unable to make it. He accommodated coming early one morning to give an estimate that seemed fair. Fast forward to when they were scheduled to do the work, 30 minutes past start time no sign of Frank's team and no communication. Contact the office find out that they won't make it today. My experience has been poor communication and unreliableness. Won't be giving them a chance to reschedule and waste anymore of my time. It was a small job so maybe not worth the effort to provide good customer service. Seeing the business's response adding this - I understand things happen and I am not expecting perfection by any means but a little bit of respect for my time and communication would have been nice.

Despite working through several long, hot days without the benefit of air conditioning, he never once complained.
