Sal's Bruschetta Pizza

Sal's Bruschetta pizza in Northfield, NJ, is THE most disgusting pizza I have ever eaten in my life. It was cold, disgusting, soggy, wet, and smelled like rotten socks. DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS PLACE. Save your money and go anywhere but here. Look at at the photo of what I ordered..... I wouldnt even feed this to my worst enemy.

Mozzarella sticks...?
Loren B.

This review is based on their delivery service. I would also like to note that we did not order pizza. Myself and two other coworkers ordered a cheesesteak, mozzarella sticks, and spaghetti. The delivery was a little faster than I had expected (only about 40 minutes, which is the reason why I added a star) but upon the delivery guy's arrival my coworker accepting the order asked him why the bag of food was leaking. He said, "all orders tend to do that." Do they really? I opened the bag and... well, I've attached a photo of my mozzarella sticks. I did not eat my food. My two coworkers were disappointed with their food's quality as well, so we decided to call them soon as they opened for breakfast the next morning. Because it was a new day, they did not want to give us a refund - just a discount for a future purchase. Sorry, but no thanks. Too disappointing. We will not be giving them another shot.

This overcooked chicken carbonara was $27 but barely worth $10. Won't be doing that again

Lobster crab bisque
Dave D.

In the mood for some Monday soup and traveling near Sal's so why not? Picked a slow time of day and although service was leisurely I felt welcome. When I heard lobster crab bisque I knew my choice! The orange broth in a very big bowl gave off an appealing scent and the flavor was wonderful. It was accompanied by wrapped saltine crackers. Ok, I would have enjoyed oyster crackers or bread. Never understood the appeal of plastic wrapped plain saltines. Blah The bisque had a great lobster bisque flavor but it needed more crab to keep me less crabby. Seriously ... It was a good lunch break. I was satisfied with just the bisque (And the crackers.).

Ordered an avocado and chicken salad, very disappointed. It was overloaded with tomatoes cucumbers peppers and onions. Literally had a slice of avocado with black spots on. Never again

Sorry excuse for a pizza

We decided to give this place a try despite the low reviews. We booked reservations for four on a Thursday (make reservations or wait). ENVIRONMENT: Small quaint, white tablecloth, Italian farmhouse decor. ORDERED: Arugula Pear salads, Seafood Risotto special, Salmon Livornese, Bone in Veal Chop and lots of bread (delicious bread). Tiramisu for dessert. WAIT STAFF: Very professional and knowledgeable. DRINKS: Brought our own red wine and Prosecco. WAIT TIME: Reasonable combined with good service. Okay, note sure about the low ratings (some were no shows that were charged for cancelling). QUALITY: The food was delicious. The veal chop was over the top with a delicious brown sauce. The Salmon was perfectly prepared, and the Seafood risotto was also delicious. PRICE: Somewhat on the high side, but after all you are at the beach, and they love to charge you for that luxury. Good price/value relationship. I will be back in three weeks to dine here again. It is great to have a quality meal experience near OCNJ. That is a rare occasion other than breakfast in a town with many mediocre dining experiences.

You can easily book on resy.com. I've been twice now, and have enjoyed each visit. All their pastas are homemade and their dishes are very flavorful. My husband thought their chicken Parmesan was a little too salty for him with the vodka sauce, but he's sensitive to cream and has more bland of a palate than I do. I thought it was delicious. We had started off with the stuffed gnocchi appetizer. This was hands down the best gnocchi I've ever had! It was like little pillows filled with ricotta in the most scrumptious cream sauce with roasted tomatoes. We wanted to lick the plate, but used the bread to wipe it up instead haha. For my main dish, I had the shrimp scampi with the creamy rice and it was incredible! The shrimp were absolutely perfectly succulent and not overdone and rubbery. The lemon butter sauce was divine. I may opt for the linguine instead next time since I was overloaded with cream after the gnocchi, but it was delicious the next day as leftovers. Service was attentive and well timed. The restaurant is lively and not the biggest, so don't go here expecting a quiet meal. I need to try their dessert next time!

Please note: my husband and I visited here LDW weekend, Friday- to be specific. 1. Our reservation was at 7pm and we were seated right away. This is restaurant, is massive, btw. 2. The service was nearly perfect. Honestly, if anything, the dinner went too fast, but I am not going to complain. 3. If you know the area, you know what you're getting into, price wise. It's Margate, NJ- what were you expecting?! ...the worst part of the whole thing is parking. But, again, if you know the area- this typically the case. Just reserve about 10-15 minutes to find parking. We started the evening with some cocktails. I went with the Perfect Sunset, which was a take on a spicy passionfruit margarita. I don't typically opt for tequila-based beverages, but it was good! J got a dirty martini (with blue cheese olives) and thought it was perfected well. To start the meal we went with the barratta special which was accompanied by a variety of fruit, arugula, EVOO, and balsamic drizzle. It was decent. Dinner rolls are complimentary, but nothing to write home about. Most definitely not homemade. For entrees, J went with the Filet which came with roasted potatoes and seasonal veggies. Not only did we agree that the steak was cooked to perfection but it came with a delicious marsala sauce. I went with the Arrogosta pasta which was INSANEEEE! It's MP, which had me unsure, but this portion was huge in every way and packed the flavor I was looking for. This restaurant overlooks the bay and we were lucky to watch the gorgeous sunset. It's handicap accessible, and the dress code is casual. Yes, it's a loud restaurant- but as expected by how large it is. I don't care what these other people are saying, we will most definitely be returning.

What an absolutely beautiful and big - HUGE - space! Faux marble, lots of white decor, and soft neon lighting. There's even an elevator! Plenty of tables for dining and a decent amount of plush white high seating around the bar. The bartenders seemed nicer than the "norm," and were doing cool 'Cocktail' movie moves while serving patrons! Incredible bay views - AMAZING sunsets to enjoy! When we go back (open year round), we're going for dinner. Let's see why the overall rating here - well - sucks. From what we saw, the food looked and smelled really good!

I asked if we could get menus for the table and she sent over our server. He was great. He took our order quickly and came back often to the table to see if we wanted anything else. When I read the menu before coming I knew I really wanted to try the tacos. Between my wife and I we got to try 4 types: - Tuna: This was delicious. One of the best tuna tacos I've ever had. They used a nice strip of good tuna meat and seared it with a nice spice blend. - Mahi Mahi (grilled), Mushroom, Shrimp (fried): all were very good The only reason for only four stars was the price for the tacos. Compared to other restaurants that sell tacos they run roughly a dollar more than most establishments. However the quality of the tuna in my opinion does justify the higher price.
