The salon is nice and clean. The staff is friendly. I was using the salon, not for a tan but to clear up a skin condition I have. It helped clear up my skin so after about 7 months I canceled. Fast forward my skin started acting up again. I rejoined. It was more expensive this time and buying one of the lotions they sell was mandatory. After 2 months, my skin wasn't healing so I wanted to cancel. There was an excuse every time I called. . You didn't give a 7 day notice. You can't cancel until after 3 months. They tried to run my card for a 4th month and when I called, the girl kept saying, I dont know what you want me to do. Its pretty simple just cancel the membership. Salon Tropics is set in a strip mall that is currently being renovated. The ambiance of the salon is nicely decorated, clean, and private. I discovered this salon through a Facebook ad and have been going back ever since for spray tans. I use their brand new Versa Spa for an even and dark perfect tan. My wonderful fella went to this salon yesterday and gave them $100 so I could go pick out my own package. Apparently what they sold him was "sand dollars" that can only be used for single sessions. After explaining to the girl that I am a monthly client and wanted to use his $$ toward their biggest package I was met with a shrug of the shoulders. When I said that I would just have my fella come get a refund, I was again met with a shrug. OK... Well Salon Tropics, we are new to this side of town, and I was willing to give you a chance even after the "trailer park" review, but because of your unwillingness to provide quality customer service I will continue to drive across town where my business is welcomed with open arms and a smile. PS- I didn't want to give you any stars but Yelp made me. UPDATE: fella went in for refund and girl asked him if I just didn't want to use the $$ to buy product, then asked if I wanted a month. Well... I did, but you should have sold it when I was there. THEN she tells him if his refund doesn't make it in 3-4 days she'll need his bank statement. his place is a rip off! After paying for a month unlimited access in there medium pressure bed (bronzer) it was suggested i start in the low pressure to get a base tan before moving up to the medium. I was asked what do i want to go in for, 6 minutes? I said sure, let me see what it does. Did absolutely nothing. Ok, fine. went back next day wanted to do 10 minutes in that bed. I was told i could only do 7. they can only bump me up one minute at a time. i said that is a low pressure bed i am not going to get anything from it being bumped up one minute at a time. im paying for a higher package i wont even get to the bed i am suppose to be in. she said i can put u in the higher one for 7. What????? that is stronger??? that makes no sense. so to get tan.. i have to not be able to get a base tan and move up to the higher one. i told her i wanted to talk with manager. the manager said i could move up 2 minutes at time. This place is a waste!!!!! do not go here it is a rip off!! read more

My boyfriend, has a friend who works there. She told him to come and tan and when he did, she didn't make him sign a waver so technically we could sue the salon for giving my boyfriend SECOND DEGREE BURNS. I only have knowledge about the tanning laws and how they work because I use to work at a tanning bed, not this one but one that definitely doesn't have workers who doesn't know what they're doing. She proceeds to sell my boyfriend a pack of lotion of tingle and sends him in the highest pressure bed possible. He told her that he had never tanned before in a tanning bed so with her knowing that knowledge she not only puts him in the strongest bed but for the FULL fifteen minuets and told him to get out when "he gets hot". Well considering he's never been in the tanning bed how in the f**k IS HE SUPPOSE TO KNOW THAT? So he stayed in the bed for the full 15 mins and came out the bed feeling fine, not even within 10 hours of him laying in the bed he developed blisters on his back and lower legs, I am completely livid and highly suggest this little girl gets fired before that salon faces a law suit! read more
