Diane called me back and needless to say, I'm even more appalled and not surprised how her staff…read moreacts after talking to her. I was calm, cool and collected. Shared my feedback and asked if she was okay having her staff put their feet on countertops. She said and I quote "I've owned this salon for 33 years and I don't care". I let her know that's her prerogative and appreciated her sharing, at which point she began to yell and scream at me over the phone - I've NEVER had a business owner do that to me, ever! I asked her not to yell and she said it was because I told Jess I was going to leave reviews online. I let her know that was unacceptable and I would not be treated like that. I asked her if she would refund my money as I would no longer be utilizing her services. Mind you, I've spent thousands of dollars there, I would implore her to research my account and see how much money I've spent. She said she would, and I asked if she or Jessica could call me when completed. I instantly got a "No, I'll cut you a check and I don't have to call you when it's been cut". Again, screaming at me, being rude and acting like a disrespectful professional. I have no idea how she's made it this far with her business and lack of professionalism and acumen, but I can only imagine it's because there is no real competition around.
Beware of how the Diane owner will treat you should you have a conflict and want to address the challenge in a mature fashion. Unfortunately, frontline retail employees come and go (it's the nature of business) but loyal customers are hard to come by. Diane, thank you for showing me your true colors and how you operate a business. The State of Vermont may do nothing, but I will share my sanitation concerns with them and request they pull camera footage to corroborate my story. I would suggest next time someone has a concern, listen, act like a lady, try to resolve the matter and like a respectful business owner would. Hailey won't be there forever (and I ultimately wish her success) but word of mouth, reviews and how you treat your customers lasts forever.
