Stacey is the hairdresser at Salon Shag. The salon is comfortable and chill. She is an amazing person who is truly a professional. I got a great haircut last time I visited and she washed and blow dried my hair. It looked so great, better than it has in a long time. I have an appointment booked for next week and am excited about going back to get a new type of haircut, maybe a modern shag cut. Went there for a facial with Ashley and my skin is damaged. She did extractions when I specifically asked her not to. She left me with marks and pimples that will not go away. Would not ever recommend going here to even my worst enemy. I wish I could go back in time and never go here. I had my hair done by Michelle for years and she is the best. I change my hair styles a lot and I just go in and say I need a change do what you think looks best and she does an amazing job every time. The salon is beautiful, and everyone there makes you feel right at home. I recently had an 80's theme birthday party and Ashley did my makeup and she did a fantastic job. I looked AMAZING, she took me right back to when I was in high school but even better. I also had Ashley do my makeup in the past she did my makeup for a wedding and just for an elegant night out, every time she blows me away with how she transforms me and makes me feel beautiful. And her facials are the best I had facials done other places before and now I only go to Ashley she is so nice and makes my skin feel years younger. This review is for Ashley's Day Spa inside Salon Shag. I've been going to Ashley for over 4 years now and she is THE BEST! I get microdermabrasion facials and lash extensions. Ashley's room is set up like a spa treatment room...it's so pretty and soothing...always a candle lit and relaxing music. On top of that Ashley is very knowledgeable and is so sweet and will always give you the best advice about skincare, beauty and makeup. (she is also a rad MUA)! Her facials leave my skin looking amazing. She uses Epicuren and Eminence (organic) products which are really good. I ask for full extractions because she always gets everything out (gross, I know...but you have to!). My lash extensions always look awesome! They are very full and long but still look very natural. I always get compliments on them and people say that they are the best lash extensions they've seen :) Also, Ashley is super fast at applying them, which is great! This review is for Ashley's Day Spa located inside of Salon Shag (714) 326-6760 Okay...let me first tell you that Ashley is the BEST!!!!! I swear by her and often have panic attacks thinking about the day she moves or closes her business or something that would stop me from visiting her every two weeks! I have been going to her for about one year and am still a very happy camper! Now let me tell you how fabulous she is in regards to her personal service...she will come in at 5:00 AM on any day to fit me and my friends/relatives in! Ashley does facials, waxing (of ALL areas), makeup artistry, and my favorite, eyelash extensions. I haven't utilized her facial and waxing services as of yet but am planning to very soon. She has done my makeup and I loved it! She also does makeup artistry for print ads so you know she's the best! She truly is an artist! Ashley is the eyelash extension QUEEN! And I love her! As do several of my friends and relatives. She designs YOUR lashes to look natural and beautiful on YOU! There isn't a one look fits all and it's amazing how natural they look! If you are thinking about getting lash extensions, I HIGHLY recommend it! But get INDIVIDUAL lashes...not 3 or 4 lashes on a strip but 1 lash individually put on your own lashes! I swear this makes a huge difference in how they look! Put it this way....the lady who threads my eyebrows (obviously she is pretty close to my face) asked me if I had my mom or dad to thank for my long lashes....I laughed and told her it was my esthetician, Ashley! I had thought long and hard and did a ton of research before hand because, let's face it, it's a bit of a financial investment. When I looked into several other places, some of them stated they "RANGED from $200 and up" for the initial start up and $80 for touch ups (supposedly every 3-4 weeks depending). Now the "and up" always scares me because once I have them on and they tell me the final price I'm pretty much at their mercy. This is NOT the case with Ashley! She is up front about her prices ($250 initial but mention Yelp and she will give you 10% off!!!) and her touch ups are only $40 so in the long run she is much more cost efficient. Now I get touch ups every 2 weeks because I am picky and like them to be perfect all the time...but that is on me and I would do it even if it cost $80 a touch up. Now also look into what KIND of lashes they use AND if they use individual lashes or strips of lashes. Some cheaper places use a strip of 3 or 4 lashes and SAY they are individual but looking at them they look fake and you know why it was so cheap! She uses the best products and my own lashes are still growing underneath and are NOT falling out. Some people use cheap glue and this causes your own lashes to fall out. Ashley only uses the best! Lashes also have saved me money and time in the long run! Gone are the days of spending a fortune on makeup and makeup remover because with the lashes you don't need makeup!!! Sure on big nights out I throw on some liner and a bit of shadow but for everyday I don't use any! Now before if I didn't use makeup I looked like death warmed over but with the lashes I really don't need any. Talk about a time saver! I moved back just a couple of weeks ago and my first call was her. I have a lot of services for my hair from Stacey. She is great at color and highlights, cuts.. style. AMAZING!!! I only trust Ashley with my skin! She is so knowledgeable, honest, and good at what she does! She treats with great natural and fresh products (Eminence and Epicuren) and customizes them for each skin type, as well as condition. I used to feel self-conscious because of discoloration and scars from my teenage acne years, but the improvement I have seen is amazing. My skin is smooth, my pores are smaller, and the discoloration is a thing of the past! Every time I see Ashley I get the same quality, thorough and customized facial. I swear by her microdermabrasion treatments and the oxygen treatments and masques feel wonderful. To top it all off it's just so easy to talk to Ashley, kind of like the big sister you always wished you'd had :-). Ashley's prices are completely fair, especially when you consider just how much each treatment has benefited my skin. I really respect how she operates her business. She'll go out of her way to accommodate clients because she cares and that really comes through in the way she treats everyone. I would and DO recommend Ashley to everyone. Beautiful Salon! This Salon feels like a relaxing retreat. When I walked in, there were candles lit, and an ocean breeze in the waiting area, which was stocked with fresh coffee, and snacks. I was greeted and offered other beverages (even champagne!!!) It is upstairs with huge picture windows surrounding the stying floor. Instantly relaxed, I got a cut and color with Stacey, who I've been going to for 8 years and always does a wonderful job with my cut and color. She also cuts my husband and children's hair!
