Yesterday I drove 20 minutes to the Lynwood location and met Ashley. She is by far the nicest person I have ever met working retail, ever. She made my exchange a breeze and was just as professional and considerate on the phone as she was in person. If she is not a manager, she needs to be, She clearly likes her job and helping customers. Ashley is as nice as the older lady working at the Bothell location is rude and unhelpful. Even though this store is not the most convenient for me, I will still drive here just to interact with Ashley again.

We celebrated my daughter's 9th birthday there, and not only were we blown away by how smoothly everything went, but every single parent reached out afterward to tell us what a hit the party was. We invited a large group of girls, and when all of them showed up, I'll admit we were nervous it might be overwhelming. Instead, it was the exact opposite. Every child was welcomed warmly and treated with such kindness and respect. We already love Lush for their strong moral stance and commitment to fighting animal testing, so we couldn't imagine a better place to spend our time and money. The girls played games, enjoyed face masks and lip scrubs, and fully experienced the magic of Lush. It was engaging, organized, and so much fun. When the mall opened, the staff didn't rush us out. They graciously worked around the change in pace and continued to make us feel completely welcome. Any small hiccups were handled seamlessly and professionally -- no one felt overlooked or disappointed. The team communicated with gentleness, patience, and clarity throughout the entire event. What sets the Alderwood location apart though is their fantastic customer service. This level of service is very hard to find. Aveda Alderwood is one of the few retailers that I can easily recommend to friends to visit. While I appreciate the detailed attention to my skin's needs, I STILL felt the need to skip buying products from the salons and come in here. Why, you're asking, Clover, do you do that when the product is available at the salons? Because as much as they know skin at the places I get mine purtied up, they don't know the products like these guys do. In a minute flat the amazingly nice 'product specialist' had my hands full of exactly what I needed, and then proceeded to give me a complimentary hand/aromatherapy massage.... mmmmm... that felt and smelled amazing. Walked out with what I wanted to get and a little extra something- that oil they used on my pulse points really did make me feel like I wanted to melt into it. I personally love their tourmaline products, the day cream and my new one step exfoliating cleanser along with the toner are all I need to look so fresh and clean. Add to it their gorgeous scents and I'm in heaven... So go, get you some great stuff or stop in for a gift that will give enjoyment for months of use long after the holidays.

I've been going to this place for service for over a year now, with good customer service at the…read morefront desk when you enter, until recently (March 5th). On my way out, I saw some products I wanted to purchase and waited patiently at the front desk to ask the receptionist how to buy them. She (initials DB or DP, can't really tell by her writing) was on her cell phone, looked at me, and then turned away. Another guy walked in and stood in front of the desk, and she didn't acknowledge him either. He finally left and walked around - he was clearly looking for someone or business. He came back around and stood at the front desk again, and the receptionist, who was still on her cell phone, didn't acknowledge him, and he left. I'm still standing there - around 15 minutes now, thought about leaving as well since she has looked at me twice now and is still on her phone, but I really wanted to purchase some items. She then walks outside, with me still standing there, and continues talking on her phone. I finally interrupted her phone call and asked for help. She was clearly aggravated with me for interrupting her phone call, which has now lasted 20 minutes. She told me that if I wanted any product, I should contact my stylist. I don't have a stylist to contact, and I ask what her position was at the front desk, if not to assist me? She said that's not her job, and I told her they should put up a sign stating that the receptionists are not there to assist customers, so don't ask them any questions. I told her it was very poor customer service for her to see me standing there and not at least put the caller on hold to acknowledge me. She said she was talking to her regional manager, which I don't believe, because if she were, I would think they would want her to put them on hold and assist customers. I overheard her conversation, and it appeared to be personal, not professional. Either way, she should have put the caller on hold or even hung up and assisted the guy who walked in and me. I asked for her employer's contact information, but I thought that if this is the way they allow their front desk personnel to conduct business (if indeed it was her regional manager on the phone), then posting here would be better to express disappointment and frustration than calling her employer. I should put her name in this post - if she even gave her real name but I decided to just put her initial because I do have respect for others, unlike her, but I don't want the other hard-working receptionists there who do their jobs to think this post was about them. I'm sure this is her normal behavior. It would be hard for me to believe this was the first time she had ignored customers since she did it with such ease and disrespect. It appears it came so easily to her. Then she had the nerve to tell me, as I was leaving, to have a good day. Her sarcasm was endless.
