Yes, I know, that's only 7 minutes before closing time (and I don't feel very proud about that), but my son needed a quick trim, and nonetheless, we showed up during posted working hours. I was expecting the whole thing to take about 10-15min tops, be out the door by 6:10pm and leave a big tip for the "trouble". But, we walked right into a locked door instead! After I knocked, a stylist eventually came out and was very rude and unprofessional, telling me that they take last appointment 30 minutes prior to closing. I asked why this wasn't posted on their store front, to which I got some more mean responses. What's worse is that when I asked for the manager, someone came out who introduced herself as "Emily" and was even ruder than the stylist and lacked any professional courtesy or customer service skills (she also claimed that she was the owner of this location, but later said that it's corporate-owned and not a franchise. Why lie?) Emily compared this incident as us showing up at a restaurant a few minutes before closing and asking for food. Guess what? A restaurant would most definily serve and sell food, as long as the kitchen is operational...and many restaurants allow customers to stay way past closing time to finish eating and socialize, so this was a bad comparison, Emily. I also couldn't find this "last-appointment-30-minute-prior-to-closing" rule signage neither on the door or on Lady Jane's website when I pulled it up on my phone. And, even if you have such a policy, why not just say that you close at 530pm instead of 6pm and take your last appointment at 530pm? Why mislead and decieve people with "WALKIN ANYTIME" written in giant letters on the window of the store and have your hours postes on Google Maps as being open until 6pm when you actually shut your doors way prior to that posted time? Very disappointed and will stay away from LJ and will share my bad experience with others. Hope you're happy to have lost customers.

Mei-ling at Salon Lofts in Carrollwood is AMAZING! I have been to so many salons in Florida (I'm a…read morenative), and I haven't had THIS great of a cut and color in at least 15 years! I can't get over how gorgeous my hair looks! I am EXTREMELY picky about my blonde hair - I want light ashy blonde, even though my hair always pulls heavy red/gold tones and can look horribly brassy. I also want a light pretty blonde that is not so bleached that it is falling out like wispy strands of cotton candy! Mei-ling gave me that perfect gorgeous dimensional ashy blonde I want, and gave me the kind of layering I've been asking for, for literally YEARS now, and no one else has done the way I wanted, until today! I wanted long layers that flow/blend together, movement around the face but not the 'stair step' look, and some movement and lightness to my very thick hair without razoring it into a jagged oblivion, and she TOTALLY understood what I meant! I have a bit of social anxiety, and am self-conscious and often feel bad about myself, but today I am SMILING! I didn't realize how the Salon Loft concept works, but I love it - it makes for a more private, relaxing setting, where you are truly getting 100% of your stylist's attention during the service. What makes it even better is Mei-ling is extremely sweet, professional, and so easy to talk to. I usually feel a bit intimidated at salons, but Mei-ling put me at ease from the moment I saw her. I'm usually not one to chat a lot, but I felt so comfortable I ended up babbling quite a bit! Then when I went into my usual "relax/almost start snoring" mode during the placing of the foils, she rolled right with it and kept working without forcing small talk. Before we booked the appointment, I texted about 40 or 50 pictures of examples and nonexamples of what I wanted in a cut and color. I like that Mei-ling wanted to see how my hair is now, and took the time to look through my pics and comments of what I wanted. I literally took almost an hour of texting her pics and comments of what I liked and didn't like, and she responded to my comments and questions, and sent a reminder text a few days before the appointment. She made sure to book plenty of time, as I explained that my hair is very thick and always takes longer than stylists anticipate. She also booked extra time because it was my first visit, and she wanted me to have plenty of time to talk about what I wanted, and to have more time for the haircut if needed, as she understands sometimes clients can be afraid to have too much cut at once from prior bad experiences (haven't we all had that situation where you ask for a half inch trim and next thing you know, you just had 5 inches lopped off?) and she is patient about going back to cut a little more after the initial cutting if you want it. I really hate having my picture taken, but now I wish I had taken some before and afters. It is amazing what she accomplished today! After asking my permission, she did take a few pics of the back (which I'm fine with those being posting to accompany this review), but unfortunately you can't really appreciate those pics unless you could see the "before" shots! I was in an awkward growing out stage of a sort of angled lob that was really screwed up on its last trim. To make it even better, I had a really ugly dark pumpkin color in the underneath section in the back, an inch or so of regrowth, and brassy frizzed out blonde on the rest of my very fried hair. It hadn't been cut in about 6 months and was straggly and awful. And yet, with all these different colors and issues going on, Mei-ling made my hair look and feel amazing! It reminds me of how a service would look on virgin hair, and yet she somehow took my hair that had more issues than a magazine and made it beautiful! It is completely blended everywhere, a great cool-toned blonde that I asked for, dimensional, with no sign of yucky brass/gold, 'hot roots', or 'bleach spots'/signs of sloppy foiling/highlighting (unfortunately that has happened to me, even at very expensive salons). I'm not one for 'add-on' services, but the Olaplex IS worth it, especially if you're having any corrective color or going lighter. I'm used to the rougher feeling my hair gets after it is lightened; I figure it's just part of the price you have to pay when going blonde(r), and yet, after today's full head of highlights, my hair feels smooth and healthy! It reminds me of how my virgin hair regrowth feels, soft and silky. And this is without any argan oil or shine enhancing product added. Mei-ling is amazing, and I'm so thankful I found her!

Her haircut and color were incredible, which immediately gave me the confidence to book my own appointment. I have long, layered hair, and from the moment I arrived, Caroline was so engaging and attentive. She really listened to what I wanted and was patient throughout the entire process. She did my roots, balayage, haircut, and blowout. I couldn't be happier with the results. I especially appreciated that she didn't overcut and checked in along the way to make sure I was comfortable with the length. She's also incredibly efficient, never rushed, but very intentional with her time, which made the whole experience feel smooth and relaxing. I felt truly pampered, and the little add-ons made it even more special. The salon itself is beautiful and luxurious without feeling pretentious, and everyone there was so welcoming and kind. I've already booked my next appointment and would absolutely recommend Caroline to anyone looking for a stylist who really listens and delivers amazing results!

Unfortunately, my experience at the salon ended on a very negative note, prompting me to write this…read morereview. I never expected to feel this way after 4 years, during which I worked with two different stylists. The first stylist is no longer there, and the reasons for her departure weren't shocking to read in other reviews. My second stylist, Jessica, had always been pleasant & professional until the last visit when she unexpectedly assigned the task of removing my bleach to another staff member. This person accidentally sprayed bleach into my eyes while rinsing my hair, & I realized too late that Jessica was not the one handling my treatment. She had delegated this critical part of the process without consulting me, which was completely out of character for her. I confronted Jessica while she was attending to another client, expressing my dissatisfaction with her decision to let someone else take over without my consent. This was a departure from her usual practice of managing the entire process herself. When the manager approached me, she presented an incident report and inquired if I needed medical assistance, which I declined due to potential costs. I requested the salon's insurance information, but she refused to provide it, insisting she couldn't give me money, which I never asked for. Her inability to handle the situation appropriately further highlighted the unprofessionalism I encountered, leaving me frustrated and disappointed with the salon's management. It's common knowledge that businesses maintain insurance policies to shield themselves from liability. My boyfriend asked the manager if she could provide cream for my face in case the bleach caused irritation, but she responded rudely, stating she couldn't help. Prior to that, while waiting for me in the lobby, he was informed that phone calls were not allowed inside & that he needed to step outside. Ultimately, she asked us to leave the premises, displaying a rude & anxious demeanor, even threatening to call the police. Such behavior is completely unacceptable, especially after an incident where bleach, water, and shampoo were splashed into a client's eyes. I cannot recommend this establishment under the current management. It's disheartening to see individuals cut corners in their jobs, passing responsibilities to less knowledgeable staff, which ultimately harms clients. We requested that the manager have the owner contact us, but that call never came. Sincerely, Alicia Valdes ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The owner's response to this review is below, along with my reply to clarify a few points. It's important to ensure that all communications are clear & straightforward, addressing any misunderstandings directly. Rebekah N. Business Owner May 11, 2026 (Rebekah) Alicia, we have tolerated your behavior far longer than we should have. Years of complaints, manipulative behavior, attempts to get free products/services, and creating issues at appointments have made it clear that you are not a client we are willing to continue accommodating. No one here wants to do your hair..its exhausting. (Alicia) Rebekah, there is nothing about me that should be tolerated; rather, you should have felt privileged to have me as a client. If you're referring to Courtney, your previous stylist, she consistently quoted one price but charged another. I have been the one enduring poor service, despite paying the inflated rates. I've seen your numerous negative reviews about this misleading practice affecting other clients as well. My experience with Courtney was particularly disappointing; her haircut made it seem like a child had taken over. During one appointment, she left bleach on my hair longer than necessary, ignoring my complaints about scalp burning while she took a lunch break, which ultimately resulted in a burn. I overlooked three unsatisfactory services from her. This is why I decided to give your salon another opportunity with Jessica. The "free" service was actually a donation to my non-profit organization, not for my personal benefit.(Tax Deductible for you). I did not request any "Free" products, but I did ask for a birthday discount both a month before and after my birthday, which was denied each time. I also referred my boyfriend to your salon and inquired about a possible discount for us. Although I was told yes, we ultimately chose not to go ahead because of the way you treated us. (Rebekah) Attempting to sneak back into the salon under another another name after being dismissed was deceptive, inappropriate, and honestly embarrassing. No one on our team is willing to service you moving forward. (Alicia) My mother booked an appointment, which she transferred to me. (Rebekah) You are no longer welcome at either of our salon locations. Stop contacting us, stop attempting to book appointments, and STOPPPP showing up at our businesses. (Alicia) I won't. Shame on you & staff!
