Have the worst experience with salon purple, I came here one time with my boyfriend for his haircut and love how it came out so I tried making a appointment, I emailed them (March) and they reached out 4 days later asking for info and for a consultation and told me to send pics to a number they provided, I sent them pictures and never heard a response after that. 2 weeks passed and I emailed again and they apologized about "dropping the ball on this" and had me resend the pictures, so I emailed back within the hour asking what a good number to send it to was in case they never got my first pictures and they again didn't respond to this day (it's been like 1 month). My boyfriend called to make a appointment and confirmed that we were going through reminder sms messages and the day before the hairstylist text us to cancel and told us to reschedule, he texts back and we haven't gotten a response from her. At this point we're done. Emails don't work, setting up appointments through the phone doesn't work, and text messages either. We're still waiting for a response.. Ain't recommending this place to anyone. read more

A gem in the Fort Worth area! Reasonably priced, eclectic, and such friendly staff. Terry, the owner, is someone you'd want to invite over for Thanksgiving dinner and does a great job. He makes sure he explains what he's going to do before he does it and then buys in to your vision. Super kudos as Terry worked on my mom's hair. I would give one star if I could. I was trying to find a salon that specializes in curly hair and thought I hit the jackpot once I ran across this one. I was WRONG! I walked in and expressed to a woman that I'd like to get my hair cut and straightened. She went into the back and then came to the front with a man who told me that they don't have a stove, so they can't service me. I was of course confused and then appalled at the fact that he was referring to a hot comb being used. I was visiting Fort Worth for the week and needed a haircut and Randi was able to take me on very short notice. She listened to what I wanted and even though I probably didn't explain it super well I left with exactly the haircut I was hoping for! (went from about 6" below the shoulder to just above the shoulder, with great shape and attention to my wavy hair) Randi was also super friendly, and talked me through all the products she was using and made recommendations specific to my hair type and daily routine (verrrrry low-maintenance). I have found it to be extremely difficult to find a great haircut. I have baby fine hair. A decent amount but very lightweight. I either get a great haircut or it just weighs down and does not perform well for me. I received a haircut from the owner, Terry, and it was perfect. I walked in with uneven long hair I'd been dying (and using color remover on) for almost 2 years, and 2 inches of gray roots. Walked out with a cute bob-type cut with gray blended out all over! Spoke with Terry the owner today and said that HE WAS OFFENDED that I thought $140 for just a half of hair highlight and a grey root touchup (NO CUT NO BLOW DRY AND NO STYLE- because the power was out!!!!) was gouging. Absolutely loved this location. I went in to get an undercut as the last place I went to do shorter hair the stylist was so unsure of herself. I got matched up with Stylist Paula Weed at this salon and she was AMAZING! She listened to what I wanted, gave advice and also tips on styling since I was new to the look. I have been having so much fun with the look and have received so many compliments. Of course told all my girlfriends where to go. The look of the salon was awesome too. Several friends mentioned Salon Purple to me when I was searching for a colorist for my hair. When I called, I was able to set up an appointment for the next day which made me very happy. The salon itself is very hip and casual. The decor is industrial with bright colors and modern paintings throughout. It has a very comfortable atmosphere. Everyone that works there seems very friendly. Loni is the one that colored my hair. She listened to what I wanted, but wasn't afraid to make suggestions of her own. She custom mixed a color for me, and the overall effect turned out beautiful. The color just along my hairline took the color a bit more (as that's the virgin hair growth) and was a bit bright for my taste. Loni worked with me, adding low-lights to tone it down. The end result is utterly fantastic! I already set up another appointment for next week to get a cut. The price point is exactly where I needed it to be. I did a bunch of research on salons in Fort Worth and after reading multiple amazing reviews about Salon Purple, I decided to make an appointment...which I am so happy that I did! Harold (Belknap location) was amazing and my hair has never looked this good before. When I first got there he did a consulation (which I don't think I have ever really had before) and helped me decide what I really wanted from my hair. He did an amazing job on my partial highlights (he assured me I didn't need a full, which a lot of salons will try to do since it costs more) and he also did an awesome job cutting my hair. I am unable to actually fairly rate this location. I needed a haircut, for an interview about 10:30 or 11:00. I showed up when they were scheduled to open...45 minutes later....nobody there. Ok first off, this is only about their curly hair cut. I don't know anything about a regular hair cut from them. They are very nice and have great intention, hence the three stars. The issue for me, is their rationale behind their "method" of cutting curly hair. They want to 'lighten the trouble areas'? Their approach just seems counter intuitive to me. After being unable to find a Deva stylist in the area, I branched out because I was in desperate need for a cut and gave them a try. The Deva method is just the entire package, it makes sense. It doesn't make sense to me that they would yank my hair with a comb and pull it against its natural curl pattern, as well as not cut it with the natural curl. All I know is, it was a decent cut for your average joe. If you "specialize" in curly hair, you should have a different approach that makes sense to curly hair. Also, asking to straighten your hair at a curly hair cut place makes no sense to me. They just need to change their approach in my opinion, because my hair is a mountain of frizz after getting it done here and it's never been this bad before. Through Deva, I've learned to embrace and love my curls and style them intuitively through their natural curl pattern. I just challenge the approach at this salon and wish they would look at a curly hair cut style that would be best for those of us who always wear their hair naturally curly. read more

If I could give no stars I would! First - when I called to make an appointment they didn't bother to tell me that my stylist left and they scheduled me anyways. Then when I show up the stylist they had given me (with the worst dye job I have ever seen) tells me that she can only cut my hair as she doesn't want to "rush" through the color. Apparently she had been double booked. Then why did u book me in the first place??? I needed a cut AND A color not just a cut! If there was an issue then you should have moved me to someone who had time to do both. Funky, cool place. Very laid back and the staff is world class. The owner, Terry, took care of my unruly curly locks. While he was firm about what I needed to be doing he also understood reality. That's something a lot of stylist do not or will not understand. I didn't want something that looked great at the shop and looked like crap a week later. I still look great and the cut was PERFECT. Recently visited Salon Purple for a blowout while I was in Fort Worth for business. The staff was amazing, incredibly friendly and helpful, and very knowledgeable about different products and techniques. They were able to accommodate my two colleagues and I despite an unexpected change in our schedule that caused us to be over an hour late for our appointments (they even offered to stay open a little later than usual to accommodate us). The space is really fun and funky, and the owner (I unfortunately can't remember his name) was awesome - really friendly and very helpful and nice, as was all of the staff. I would definitely go to Salon Purple again when in the area, and would recommend it to anyone. read more
