Had a horrible experience with Shane! I asked for grey chunky highlight and my entire hair was pretty much covered in black dye. I was told it was "misunderstanding" even after showing the dude 3 photos of what I wanted. He misunderstood but I was charged $120 and told if I wanted my high lights put back into my hair (which they were died over) he wouldn't charge me. He "wouldn't" charge me, until he took my credit card into his had then said "come in Friday and if I get your highlights the way you like them you can pay for them then. Uh wtf?! You already messed my hair up! Covered my roots and highlights with black dye, I grew my hair (grey) out for months just to start blending it into my hair. I explained all of this to him before and during the appointment. At one point he asked me how my hair lady did my highlights and got them the way she did. Uh aren't you the hair dresser? Please look at pictures to see what Lynn did to my hair. Before that she rescheduled our appointment 3 times before I actually got to sit down with her. When I asked her to fix it. She got sick and said she would call me back to reschedule my appointment. It has been weeks and she has never called back to reschedule . Many times she gave me different quotes for my hair. When I went in the last time after her quoting me $250.00, all of a sudden the new quote now would be $100 per hour and this was a 5 hour job!!! I've been coming here for awhile now. You can NOT get a bad cut or color at this place. It's seriously impossible. I've been to all kinds of salons: the cheap, the mid-range and the crazy-expensive chains. I thank my "Lucky" stars I found Lucky 13. I'll never go anywhere else. You know how you pretend to like a cut at the conclusion, so as not to offend the stylist? Don't y'all lie, we've all done it. Well, you'll never pretend again! I'm totally shocked and pleased every time I put my glasses on (blind as a bat without them) at the end of my cut or color, and look at my reflection. Today, I was especially happy. I probably yelled a little too loudly, but I was initially nervous about going blonde and what I saw in the mirror made me SO. FREAKING. HAPPY. I couldn't stop smiling and staring, and nearly wrecked my car on the way home from looking at my gorgeous hair in the mirror too long. Anna, the super-sweet owner, carefully executed a blonde transition that rocked my world. My husband, who didn't want me to go blonde at all, absolutely loved it. They know what's up at this salon. Your hair won't look brassy, it'll look natural and beautiful. Don't waste your time or money going elsewhere. Their prices are great when compared to other high-end salons in the area. I've paid double at other places, only to look like crap. They'll also give you honest advice, even if it means they won't make as much money. They want people to love how they look, it's their first priority. For example, I almost went back to a full bang, but Anna thought it was time to transition into a face-frame type of bang, and she was spot-on! I absolutely love the way I look. Ok, so finding a new salon is always risky! It can be a regular crap shoot to find someone who is amazing and REALLY listens when you say your hair cut a certain way. With that being said, I have found the gem! This is not your cookie cutter, chain-style salon! The minute you walk in the door you know that it is different! The decor is very eclectic and musically inspired. Every stylist has their own station decorated to their taste. (The station cabinet is a Craftsman tool box covered in stickers that reflect their individual personalities!) They immediately say hello and welcome you in as if you have been coming here for years! Drinks are offered (not just a soda or water either.) They offered me (because I am over 21) a wine or beer. Pretty cool to be treated like an adult instead of a little kid who isn't supposed to touch anything. Anna is who cut and styled my hair and I have to say that she put more care into cutting my hair than ANYONE I have ever gone to before! She makes sure that you are getting exactly what you want! They closed at 6 on the night I was there and she stayed later just to make sure that I was totally satisfied! The price is better than what you would expect for this type of service! It was only $40 (although first time customers get a 20% discount.) One of the other things that impressed me was that I had my 2 year old daughter with me and Mike (another stylist) actually listened to me saying her name, had a little toy, and asked her by name if she would like to play with it. Yelp didn't steer me wrong as I looked for a new hair salon and came across Lucky 13. It is a bit tucked away but its right behind the storage units so you don't miss it! Don't let that discourage you from getting an appointment here. First the atmosphere is so cool. Everyone is friendly and laidback. I love the individual toolboxes where they keep their supplies each filled with stickers. They offer wine and beer which a plus for an adult after a long day at work. Shane did my hair and he is the best. Best highlights I have ever gotten and best haircut. He had to work with some pretty bad looking hair (it had been awhile and I hadn't found anyone I trusted) but he came through with a perfect cut and color. The blonde is just subtle enough to make a difference but not look overly chunky. My hair feels so light after getting two inches taken off. Finding a new salon is always difficult, and especially in such a big city. I was referred to Anna by a friend, and couldn't be happier my cut. Anna was friendly, and very knowledgeable. I brought in photos of a very short and edgy style (going from already short hair) and she was careful to make small suggestions that would be a better fit for me. We made very slight changes, but turned out to make a big difference. She's energetic about doing a great job, and I won't go anyplace else. The salon itself is eclectic but comfortable. It was very clean and fairly easy to find. Found Lucky 13 with the best reviews and only salon that actually took photos of their haircuts - smart move. I called and reserved a time with Bree and she was as good as the other reviewers mentioned. I have long, thick hair that looks like tree bark most of the time. She gave me a great trim and style for a reasonable price. Will definitely be back for color to hide the grays, God made highlights for a reason ;). The other stylists were friendly and was in and out in an hour. The place is easy to find if you use Google maps - great hidden gem off Vickery and Riverbend. This first review is for a "wet-cut" received on Wednesday November 9th, 2016. I was not expecting the cool and relaxed vibe of this place based off of the store front. I love the decor! Wet-cuts are pretty straightforward: wash the hair then cut it, no styling or drying afterward, which is what I received. Shane, a seemingly quiet stylist cut my hair that day. When I first met him I thought we wouldn't get along, but with the election results announced that morning I found that we had tons to talk about, and that we have a lot in common. He cut my hair exactly how I wanted it so I have nothing to complain about. Shane didn't massage or scrub my scalp as much as I expected, though I didn't mind. If you're looking for that you may be better off going somewhere trendy. Also, they offer wine, beer, and water which is a plus!! read more

This Salon was a recommendation aaaaaaaaannnnndddd ..... WIN! This is a cute, funky, trendy, no-frills salon! When you walk in you're greeted with a pop of color, groovy décor, AND they were playing 80s tunes -- love! Anna did an AMAZING job on my hair! She listened to what I liked/disliked about my hair, the time (or lack there of) that I spend on it each day, and what I was wanting. She did a great color consult as well. She gave me an amazing shape-up on my haircut (swing bob) and then the color was legit. She didn't do the prescribed "foils in certain places - like I assume is learned in school" but she did foils, painted some on, then teased part of my hair and painted some more on. I sort of looked like a zombie walking over to the dryer ... but PRESTO! ..... It looks REALLY natural and I love it! Their prices are way more then fair (and I've been screwed by bad cuts/color that cost $$$$!!!!) .... Bonus .. 1st time clients receive 20% off services! BUT there is just something about getting away and having time to just exhale. I was referred to Anna over 5 years ago from my neighbor and even after moving away 30 miles southwest, I still believe it's worth the drive in! I love that Anna can execute what I'm wanting for my cut and her eye for detail isn't to be overlooked. I feel amazing every time I'm around her. This place is very laid back - NEVER ANY DRAMA - and they boast a wide variety of music. I'm writing this review after 2 years. I regret the fact that I should've posted a review for this salon as soon as I got a haircut from this place. It was an unforgettable experience. My hair was really long when I went in for a haircut and color. I gave all the details to the hairstylist and she agreed to get it done the way I wanted it. I did notice that she was unfriendly and rude in her behavior. I was getting a very bad feeling while getting my hair done. It was the first time I went over there because I didn't get an appointment with my regular stylist.I heard great reviews about this place and decided to take an appointment for hair and color. The places where I would go for a haircut, normally confirms with me the length of the hair before they start working on my hair. To my surprise, this hairstylist just chopped off my hair immediately. When I turned and looked around to see the length of my hair ,I noticed that she cut it really short. I asked her " it looks like you cut a lot of my hair". The hairstylist reply was" well, I cannot fix it back. She really scared me. I felt so helpless at that moment. She kept chopping and made it very short. She just tried to make me look good for the moment and I knew its never going to stay the same once I wash my hair. I still remember that I mentioned to her that I need to have hair to do a pony tail. She made it so damn short that I was almost in tears. It was the worst experience I've ever had in my life. She is so sweet and friendly plus knowledgeable about anything and everything to do with hair and what will work best with it style and product wise. I usually always say you get what you pay for but I found the best of both worlds. Lynn has been my "go-to" hair lady these past few years. I always get my hair colored, cut, & styled with her. She is very reasonable and works wonders with my hair. My husband even comments about how much he loves it each time. Lynn always makes sure that I'm more than satisfied with my hair and always asks during each visit. She has been able to be flexible for my scheduling needs as I have to take care of my brother with special needs and work a music therapy hospice job. Lynn is truly a good listener, and she also has a huge heart for trying to help those in need. Not only was Anna an awesome delight, the salon was in of itself wonderful. Mike was helpful and fun and I'm sure the rest of the staff is as well. I was looking for a trustworthy stylist to get long over due hair cut. I did some extensive research before deciding on this place and I couldn't be happier about my decision. My stylist was Anna and she took such great care of me. I let her know that the length of my hair was important and she made sure to ok the length she was cutting before doing so. She basically told me what she was going to do with my hair before even doing it and made sure I was ok with all of it. The price is even better than the cut and is well worth the money.
