After multiple attempts to get Laura to fix a terrible result she gave me (see AFTER photos) and her refusal to see me to explain what happened, she canceled all of my future appointments. I have always been a very light dimensional blonde and I left Laura with a brassy, orange, fried head of hair with extremely black roots. I'd requested highlights, lowlights and a base bump. I had also provided her with my previous formula. I felt it imperative to write this honest review since no one has for so many years. Unfortunately it's Laura's way or the highway. Maybe she has deleted the unfavorable reviews but after claiming to be a "Blonde Specialist" I did not even leave the salon a blonde! I very clearly showed her what I wanted to attempt and got something drastically different. Please know you may not accomplish your desired look here and you will pay a tremendous amount ($400 or more) possibly with a result needing extensive and even more expensive corrective color work. Laura was initially friendly but when I alerted her my hair was not what we discussed, she was very unkind and extremely disrespectful. Please be careful. They took the time to ask thoughtful questions, understand my vision, and explain how we could realistically achieve it. Larry was wonderful throughout my appointment. I have very thick, coarse Polynesian hair with a mixture of curly and wavy textures, so salon visits can take much longer than expected. He worked efficiently while still being attentive and thorough, and the appointment went much faster than I anticipated. My goal is an icy white/silver look with some black accents, which we're working toward over two sessions. The color from my first session already exceeded my expectations! It's such a beautiful, natural-looking blonde that I would honestly love it even if I weren't continuing toward silver. I'm so excited to see the second session's results. I also appreciated how much care Larry put into the bleaching process. He explained what he was doing along the way and gave my hair extra attention with conditioning afterward. That communication and care made me feel comfortable throughout the appointment. The salon had such a welcoming, relaxed atmosphere. I was with my previous hairdresser for 10 years, and it broke my heart when she moved out of the area. I thought I would never find someone again who could tame my crazy mane. And then... I met Max and my whole world changed. I am so pleased that he has been able to blend this gorgeous rich copper that could possibly exist somewhere in nature and looks incredible with my natural coloring. He is also extremely competitively priced for the area. Whenever I go see him I get nonstop compliments, not just on my hair. People say to me oh my gosh, you look like you're glowing! Wow, you look like you've lost weight! What have you been doing with your skin lately, it's absolutely radiant! And I'm like no... I just got my hair done and can we talk about his blowouts please??? I have never ever had a stylist be able to give me a blow out that can easily last a week with just a little dry shampoo touchup. I don't know how he does it, but the volume is endless, and the blowout keeps whatever shape he rolls into it with that big round brush. As much as I miss my old hairdresser, she was a rad chick, at least I have found someone who makes me look and feel incredible. Plus, Max is a super cool guy, really funny and nice. I requested layers, but she only added them to the front near the bangs - the rest of the hair remained completely blunt. When I mentioned the ends looked chunky, she didn't address the concern adequately. Ironically, at checkout, Annie suggested I book the 45-minute tween session next time because my daughter "has a lot of hair" - yet she only used 20 minutes of our 30-minute appointment. This logic doesn't make sense. The result is a chunky, straight-across cut that I could have done at home. I've already had to book an appointment at another salon to fix the uneven, unfinished look. If you're looking for a thorough, detailed cut with proper layering and finishing, I'd recommend looking elsewhere. We won't be returning.
