I booked an appointment online with Sydney and had my cut last night. Both Sydney and the person working the front desk were extremely nice and friendly; offered me tea/coffee/water, took my coat, etc. and made me feel welcome. Sydney introduced herself and after a quick consultation, she got right to work, starting with a relaxing scalp massage. Throughout the cut, Sydney was extremely professional and efficient. She asked for my preference in shampoo and styling gel (I don't like the men's line Aveda has) and used all of my favorites. I'll definitely book again with Sydney based on my experience yesterday.

Although, I know they do sometimes have walk in appointments. Other services offered here include hair cuts, make up, and massages. I have not gotten my hair or make up done here, but I have gotten a few massages. The spa portion is very calm, and I think they do a decent job with the services. I had a $50 failed manicure. A brief apology from THEM to ME, and a refund was all that was required. Pulling me into staff drama was highly unprofessional and inappropriate. How or why management selected to inform the technician re the manicure in a way that upset her so badly is entirely their fault/responsibility.

To her credit, I think the receptionist did her level best at approximating customer service with her sort-of apology (although it was more, "Sorry you have to wait but also the spot you booked on our website wasn't supposed to be there," than an expression of remorse). After looking at other reviews online, this appears to be a trend for them. So if you think you'll just pop in for a quick wax during your lunch break, make sure you have a very cool boss who isn't a stickler for the whole "showing up on time" thing first. I'm not sure if Jena is in training, but it sure sounded that way from how she had to be coached by a mysterious floating voice standing just off behind my head. I was not introduced to this mysterious brow waxing phantom, as her presence was never actually acknowledged to me, so I can't confirm if she was training Jenna or if she was just a spectre with a passion for waxing. It was a bit hard to make out what she was saying over the incessant sniffling of the woman repeatedly touching my face with no gloves, so I'm sure I missed some of the nuance of their relationship to each other. All in all and with respect to fairness, the eyebrows look fine. If you go here, your eyebrows will probably look fine too.
