You do have to tamper your expectations in a quick serve salon like this. The techs are nice and professional. Sure, they work quickly, but it's at a skillful pace where they are gentle and thorough. You may even have to leave your chair and sit in the waiting area to finish drying your toes, but that's only if they need your chair for another client. I had a very disappointing and concerning experience at Nails by Tony. My pedicure began with water…read morethat was extremely hot, and no one checked the temperature before. Ouch. The biggest issue was the gel removal. The technician used a drill very aggressively and removed the gel from all toes, both feet, in under 30 seconds, going straight into my natural nail. It was painful enough that I yelped. Instead of addressing it, he stepped away and another technician took over. When I looked at my nails, they were clearly over-filed, very thin, and tender to the touch. You could visibly see pink through the nail. I calmly pointed this out because I was concerned about damage. Tony, the owner, came over and repeatedly insisted what I was seeing was leftover polish, not my nail bed. Even after looking closely with glasses, he continued to dismiss what I was physically feeling and clearly seeing. Both he and the technician suggested drilling the same area more. At that point I felt gaslit -- my concerns about my own nails and pain were being dismissed rather than taken seriously. I chose to stop the service and leave. My nails are now sensitive and thinned from over-filing. I expect a nail salon to prioritize nail health, client safety, and listen to client concerns. Unfortunately, I did not feel heard, safe, or respected here and cannot recommend this salon based on my experience.
