Zero stars if I could. Please let my horrible experience be the warning shot you need to make an informed decision before coming here. Or, since my experience was specifically with Rebecca (Becca), I should not generalize about the entire shop - which in fact was clean, cozy, and conveniently located in downtown Titusville. I did a lot of research to try to find a place that could tame my brassy hair color and make it a more natural shade of light brown/blonde. I couldn't believe the great reviews this salon had and the fact it isn't too far from me. I am used to driving over an hour away to get my hair done so the location was a bonus. I stopped in before booking and Becca took a lot of time to look at my hair (and even sniffed it!), looking at the photos of what hair color I wanted to have, and discussing price. $215 (before tip) for the color correction and a haircut to remove those frizzy ends. That's a lot of money but I have a lot of hair, so OK, I booked it. The general experience was as expected, typical salon chit chat. Becca seemed to be methodical and took several hours to color my hair... or should I say, the outside layer of my hair. She dyed my entire head of hair hair dark brown - which I specifically told her not to do - and then did not put any highlights underneath my hair. This led to the effect of putting a sparse wig of blonde strands on top of a dark brown head of hair. If I sat perfectly still with zero movement to my hair like one had when walking, or the wind blowing, the impression wasn't too bad because only the top strands had the blonde/ light brown highlights. As soon as my hair moved, the illusion fell apart. Because the underneath of my hair wasn't highlighted, it looked so dark brown I would have had the same if not better appearance if I used an at-home dye kit. I looked SO BAD that three days later I called Becca and told her how dark it looked and that the underneath and top of my crown needed to be highlighted. Maybe she forgot, I don't know, she had another client come in while I was there so maybe she was pressed for time and just wanted to move on? It's all a guess, but I just needed this fixed because I looked really dumpy. The dark brown color did not go with my skin tone at all and I looked like I never saw a salon in my life. She told me to come in a few days later so she could look at it. I did, and she gave me a story about how this was going to be "a process" and it would take multiple appointments to get my hair the color I requested, plus bonus excuse of not wanting to over process my hair in one appointment by adding highlights underneath my hair. BUT- as fate would have it, she could do those highlights immediately, even though it was just 7 days after she felt she risked damaging my hair the first time she did it. And - and - it would only cost me an additional $70! Wow. What nerve. No thank you. I'm including before and after pix of my hair so you can see for yourself. I showed them to my new colorist who laugh-cried out of anguish and sympathy for me, and then colored my hair in ONE VISIT exactly the way I requested /as shown the same photos that I had originally presented to Becca. I want to stress that a hideous experience with one hairdresser does not mean everyone in the shop is bad. There were multiple elderly clients who came into the shop who had very short (ear length and neck length) haircuts who looked quite nice. If you are looking for that type of style then I could see how this salon received so many reviews. However you may want to think twice if you want a different hair style or color. read more

Love my new salon!! I just moved to the area from up north and I'm always hesitant to find a new salon/hairdresser. I must have called 12 salons before I called Expressions when Rebecca answered the phone. While all the other salons were nice in speaking with me, I felt Rebecca wasn't reading from a script. So, I bit the bullet and made an appt. Sooo glad I did. I've seen her at least 3 or 4 times in the last few months and not only does she do an amazing job with my cut, highlights, and that lovely, lovely titanium toner... I never ever feel rushed. Kayla is very sweet and listens to what I want. She takes the time to go over upkeep and how often I will need an appointment with whatever I'm asking to be done. Went to Lauren today and she did an excellent Job. Exactly what I asked for. No gold or yellow retouching previous weaving. I like the matrix color she used better than what they were using on my hair in Ohio. It left my hair in better condition than before I came in and I condition with every shampoo. All in all I'm a happy camper and my spouse would tell you that's an anomaly for me and my hair salon experiences. Oh, and did I say BONUS there prices are very reasonable as well! read more

I just moved from Phoenix, AZ where I had a phenomenal hair stylist and a colorist (www.davidfranksalon.com), and where I had an authentic balayage process done on my hair. When you move it is always scary to find new people when you love the ones' you are leaving (stylists, doctors, etc...). I went to a local salon in Titusville, Expressions. Tiffany cut and styled my hair and she did a really good job. Tiffany is super friendly and accommodating. I went back for a balayage color and she used foils to separate the pieces. Those of you who know what balayage is, know that foils defeat the purpose. So as you can imagine I got blonde streaks instead of soft, natural-looking, sunlit pieces. If you want highlights by foils you may get what you want, but if you want one of the more advanced techniques like balayage you won't get what you desire. A little info about the salon: Expressions is downtown Titusville and in an old building which is pretty cool, but inside the salon is antiquated. There are no bells and whistles (i.e. Coffee, tea, wine, water, hand or neck massages), just a very basic salon. read more
