The location: very nice, cozy, and clean. The vibe: Jess (the owner) is very kind and sits you down with what they could do and does a thorough analysis on your expectations. What surprised me the most is that their services are gratuity free and they don't charge you extra at checkout like a lot of other salons do which is a big plus. The products: their coloring products are ammonia free, which is great! Raven is often fully booked, so a lot of people get their appointment booked with her a month in advance so she is definitely amazing at what she does. She always made sure I was comfortable and it was honestly the best blow out I've ever had. It was a full on consultation. I learned so much from her! Definitely easy to converse with, explain how your lifestyle is (to ask for tips + post hair care), and she works with you regarding what you want and makes suggestions. This is such a cute and cozy salon with great service! I came here for a haircut and was really impressed with my stylist Hannah. From the beginning she made me feel comfortable and always kept checking I was okay with the lengths she was cutting. She was also very in tune with what would look good for my hair type. wow... if you have curly hair i guess it makes sense to go here, but i will never be going back. i left with half damp hair, no styling whatsoever, just a massive fizzy mess that barely looks any different than when i woke up this morning. bangs trimmed and didn't even get to have my bangs styled? how does that work? i can't tell how they look bc they're not even dried forward like bangs. got layers touched up, also can't even tell. was told we were overtime and others were waiting so couldn't get a 'full styling'. all i wanted was the job finished- the underside of my hair was half damp. straight hair doesn't mean no texture at all, my hair is coarse, can't just blow dry it by hand and call it a day... girls are nice but so not worth the price if i could probably have my roommate with no cosmetology degree do the exact same thing. over 1.5 hrs for this, could i at least get a partial refund or can you disclose if basic drying and or styling is not included in a haircut? read more

I'm a Black woman and wear my hair in its natural, coily state 24/7. I've been natural for 8 years, and I'd be lying if I said it's become easier to find stylists that can cut and/or color my hair. If anything it feels more difficult because so many adept stylists are either booked several months in advance or on road the doing education. BUT! They are all nice, but Raven does not know how to cut curly hair. I asked for a trim and shape, she chopped it. I asked for a refund and haven't heard back. She also spilled water all over my face and didn't apologize. The no refund policy is ridiculous. I should at least get part of my money back. They completely over charge for the work. Salon Lola was recommended by a friend. Although I had to wait to get an appointment, it was well worth it. The salon is clean, cute, and has plenty of parking. The owner is not only talented, but friendly and knowledgeable. I always leave the salon loving my style, that doesn't happen at other salons. I do caution the talent and service comes with a price! The flip side to that is she likes to only do your hair every 3-4 months, so that can cushion the cost. Wow! What a great experience! Recently a friend told me about this haircut style called Deva cut. It sounded fascinating but I am very particular about letting someone cut my hair because I've had some bad past experiences. I started out in life with stick straight hair and it started to get curly in my mid 30s. I absolutely love it but don't always know how to take care it it. So I started researching this Deva cut and stumbled across Salon Lola. I booked an appointment online with Jess and was very nervous going in. This appointment was literally the best thing I've ever done for my hair! The Deva cut is pricier than other cuts but so worth it! Jess took the time to talk to me about what I wanted and then explained to me about "the curly girl method" and products I'd heard of but never tried. Jess cut each curl to its natural curl pattern and explained what she was doing and why she was doing it. She walked me through every step. She is super sweet and friendly and absolutely LOVES her profession. . At the end of it all, she gave me a preprinted card of instructions that I could take home so I wouldn't forget what I'd learned. Jess worked with me on time while I was having a tough morning and running late. I love her salon. It's like a secret oasis and so cute. She did such an amazing job with not only my cut and color, but my 9 year old daughter's cut as well. She really made her feel like a princess. She's a true artist, and keeps it real. I love her! omg. i have been waiting my entire life to find a stylist who actually listens and does what she promises! Jess is the one! i have crazy curly hair that i've never really known what to do with, hence it usually ends up in a wet ponytail right out of the shower. i told her that i needed a low-maintenance style and she gave me a short and adorable bob. my hair has not seen a ponytail holder for over 10 days! this is a personal record. i waited to write a review because usually when i get it cut, the cuteness only lasts for a day or two. not this time.
