I have been going to Salon Inclusion for over 2 years and have consistently been impressed by Shane's dedication and expertise. He works tirelessly to ensure that all of my regrowth and grey hairs are expertly covered, leaving my hair looking vibrant and healthy. His triple process color treatments are always done to perfection and he takes the time to really understand what I'm looking for. I would highly recommend Shane to anyone, but especially those looking for a color specialist. The salon itself is also a lovely space, with beautiful plants, decor, and even a sweet pup named Papi Chulo who always greets me with a wagging tail. If you're looking for a new salon, I highly recommend giving Salon Inclusion a try and be sure to ask Shane for exactly what you want or show him some inspiration pictures. Five stars for Shane and Salon Inclusion! It was raining the day of my services so I added 2 photo's of my hair color in the sun. Bonus: Shane always adds OLAPEX treatments during the process. read more

Shane is the best hair colorist alive! I have been unhappy with my hair for years. All I wanted was light ash blond. It always turned orange. But now he has transformed my hair into exactly what I wanted. I cannot go anywhere else for color. He also does an amazing haircut. Love the salon!! read more

Shane gave me what may be my favorite haircut ever. They took such time and care to understand what I wanted, and make sure it's what I walked out with. The cut is simple and yet so styleable, and every detail shows such care. Plus we had a great time chatting all the way through, and got great styling tips. Truly committed to their craft and to making their client shine read more

Shane is my favorite person ever. Never have I felt so heard by someone when getting my hair done, Shane is very trustworthy and always gets what you want color, texture, style wise ON POINT. He has taught me how to properly care for my hair texture, and did this fabulous hot pink and butterfly cut on me. This hair has been a dream to have and now it's a dream come true. Salon Inclusion is the best hair salon in the city with the highest level of integrity and inclusivity. read more

Shane definitely did not disappoint! So glad to have him in our neighborhood. I booked a haircut appointment online via his website (super easy). His salon is sooo cute! I loved the plants, candles, and decor. Shane spent some time asking me about what I wanted in a haircut, getting the history of how I care for my hair, and carefully examined my hair before getting started. He literally is THE HAIR DOCTOR!!! He educated me along the way and I felt that he really just wanted me to know how to take care of my hair when I'm at home. I loved that! So we started with a hair wash to strip all of the residue left by the grocery store shampoo I have been using for years (oops). My hair felt so much lighter and smoother than it usually does when wet. He then went to work and did exactly what I had requested for: a little more volume and kept the length (of course he had to cut off the ends since it's been years since I've had a haircut). He gave me a blowout and when he was done, I almost teared up because I didn't know my hair could look so smooth and bouncy!!! He educated me on what ingredients to avoid in hair wash (sulfates and parabens), how to properly wash and condition my hair, and how often to get a haircut if I wanted to grow my hair. I really appreciated this because as someone not in the beauty industry, there are so many things I didn't know. I'm very hopeful that my hair will look so much better from Shane's teaching! You better believe I will be back!!! And I will recommend him over and over again! Thank you Shane! read more

I had my first haircut with Shane and he was super warm and friendly. I love my new cut and I can't wait to see him again for color. He was super patient and attentive while helping me find the right hair style for me. read more

Give Shane all your money, honey! He is a BRILLIANT colorist and a beautiful human being. Shane was recommended to me by my friend, so I traveled from Berkeley to come to San Bruno for him and will be continuing to do so because I've found my forever colorist as he is incredibly talented. I have Asian hair and he made me a blonde. Like an actual blonde in one day without breaking my hair. It's a combo of his talent, knowledge, and the quality products that he uses. He masterly gave me a combo of blonde highlights and a balayage. I honestly couldn't believe it. I was not expecting this and when I saw myself I thought, hot damn! Is this blonde babe, me? A month later and my hair is still healthy as heck because he knew what he was doing and he was using the good stuff (Kevin Murphy) to color my hair. Besides his talent, he is such a beautiful soul. He is very professional, honest, open, has stories for days, and is really an inspiration. I love how he is such a part of the San Bruno community as you'll see people pass by his shop and stop to say hi to him and his dog, Papi Chulo. Shane is a master and I'm so lucky to have found someone I can trust with my hair. read more

This review has been long overdue (4-5 months) honestly. Back in October was my first time getting my hair retouched by Shane and boy did it look a whole lot better than what I had from my last stylist. He got the color, texture, and vibe on the spot! Compared to my last stylist, he made sure that I wouldn't get any signs of brassiness and that my hair color would fade nicely. Which it did. He's so genuine and definitely knows how to run conversations haha! Just had my hair cut by him today and it looks and feels amazing . If you want someone who will definitely look out for your hair and takes what you want into account, look for Shane!!! Thanks for everything, Shane! Will definitely be on the lookout for future referrals read more

This is my first Yelp review and I'm happy to leave it for Salon Inclusion and Shane. He was extremely professional, knowledgeable and so sweet. He made the whole experience extremely comfortable and fun! I have been looking for a stylist for a long time, because i don't trust just anyone with my hair, especially when color is involved. He explained everything he was using on me and the process. He also made me feel comfortable to ask questions. Glad i found Shane and I will continue to support his business! Ps. He has the most adorable sweetest pup! read more

Like many residents of our modern world I tend to engage with businesses and service providers in a largely transactional, transitory manner. I would like to be one of those people with a mechanic, a butcher, a tailor, a rare books appraiser, but I don't even have a regular physician. However, I have always had a regular barber. I met my first barber, a part time horse broker in Appalachia, at the age of 18. He gave me my first decent haircut and I met the woman who would become my wife a month later. This can be no mere coincidence. Since then, whenever I moved to a new town I was deliberate in finding and sticking with a quality barber who knew my head and could refine my cut over time. When I moved to San Francisco, I bounced between mediocre barbers until I found Shane about five years and three establishments ago. I consider Shane a friend and trusted ally. When I sit in the chair, we get right to work. I follow him everywhere, now to his own establishment. I showed up late to the appointment before my wedding but he got me looking great in 20 minutes. About once a year, I get a cut from some other barber or stylist for reasons of convenience. I always regret it. If you are looking at Yelp, it is probably because you are missing a regular barber in your life. I pity you, but fear not -- your search has come to an end. read more

I've been going to Shane for years. He's incredibly skilled and does his job effortlessly. I'm pretty sure he can do it with his eyes closed, but we haven't quite tried that yet. If you want a stellar barber at a beautiful location for an unbeatable price, Shane is your guy! read more

Shane is literally the best hair stylist I have ever had! He is an absolute perfectionist and never lets me leave without every strand of hair perfectly placed. He goes out of his way to ensure clients are comfortable and feel confident with their appearance. It's even better that he's located right in my neighborhood (Portola). Highly recommend Shane to everyone! He's one of a kind! I've been going to him for about a year now and won't ever stop... read more

I am blessed that I have found Shane. He is a amazing person and I must say he has magic in his hand. I just fall in love with my hair again. read more

Let me start off by stating the obvious, Shane does AMAZING haircuts! I came in with an overgrown mop (thanks Covid) and he was able to give me exactly what I wanted and helped guide me a little. He was so fun to talk to and get to know a little bit (spoiler alert, he's f'ing rad) he has the cutest little puppy that is a neighborhood ambassador and the space that he has created is absolutely beautiful. I have been bouncing around to different barbers for years and have finally found my spot. If you need a great haircut, this is your place read more

I came In for a hair cut with Shane as soon as I got to San Francisco. For the remainder of the year that my partner and I are living here we will be regulars. Not only is Shane a true expert on hair, hair types, products, and repair, he is very personable and friendly. I left feeling so great about myself and the work he did on my hair! It was a true pleasure meeting with you Shane and thank you so much for your services. read more

I went a few weeks ago and had the pleasure to have Shane Gordon do my hair. I was visiting out of town getting ready for a wedding and Shane was awesome to squeeze me in last min. If I didn't live out of the area I would totally see him again. read more

This is the first time I went to this salon and it exceeds my expectation. The place is very welcoming and relaxing. They clean all of their equipment every after use and they limit their customers one at a time which I felt like I'm in a first class private salon. Shane is the best! Very professional, friendly, knowledgable and gave me expert advise how to take care of my hair. I found my new hairstylist and this place is highly recommend. read more

Shane is pure magic! Not only is he brilliantly skilled at what he does, he makes the entire salon experience wonderful. He mixed up the perfect violet color for my hair on the first try, he's super cautious and deliberate about applying bleach (he's saving my baby hairs!), and the way he brought my dead hair back to a soft and silky life must be mentioned. I also enjoyed every minute with him- I felt so comfortable, safe, and we shared a lot of laughter and good conversation. He even went above and beyond to educate me and help me maintain my healthy long hair, because he truly truly cares. I haven't ever found a hair stylist like him- authentic & honest, ridiculously knowledgeable, oozing with heartfelt & passionate energy, and an amazing person overall. That all being said, I've never been able to completely let go and trust someone with my hair like this. I'm so glad I found him!! read more

I had my first haircut/style with with Shane at his amazing new salon in Portola. I have to say not only is he a very nice guy easy to work with but he also gave me the best haircut I've had in 10 years. I've been wearing short hair for probably the last 15 years and decided to let it grow out. He found a way to deal with my three cowlicks as well as style it perfectly for a grow out. I have really stick straight hair and I've been told it's quite hard to do this with but Shane found a way to masterfully blend a very bad haircut from four weeks ago into something perfect right now. I'm so happy to have this new addition in our Portola neighborhood and I cannot say Enough good about his fantastic service as well as the quality of the cut and style read more

Shane is amazing! I love my hair! The color and hair cut suit me so well. I highly recommend Salon Inclusion.

Shane is fantastic - I'm speaking both in terms of his skillset and personality. As a transplant to the city, I really feel like I lucked out stumbling upon him. He continuously goes above and beyond and uses top-line products. Highly recommend read more

Shane is wonderful. I'm very happy with my cut and his advice. Also, his dog Stella is everything. Highly recommend!

Been going to Shane for several months and love his work. He's so good that even after he moved from a 5 min walk from my house to a 20 mins drive away, I stuck with him. I've had several friends and coworkers compliment me on my haircuts and ask who I go to. I've refereed them to Shane and they're also very happy with his men's hair cuts. I don't know how I can give a higher recommendation that that! read more

Shane is the sweetest, and he will literally let you know what he's doing to your hair which I think is so important. I loveee my hair and so worth the price! Definitely coming back. read more

Shane has been doing my hair forever, and he recently started doing my boyfriend's hair too. It feels like the first time my boy has had a proper haircut! His technique is perfect, a true artist. I haven't had a hair cut (by a professional) in over a year, so it was great to find someone close to home. I usually am not too passionate about my hair because I don't like how oily it gets and how I style it. But, Shane helped me understand my hair and get a cut that address my hair texture and problems. It was a great experience, and I trusted Shane completely! I would highly recommend!! read more

I cannot express how happy I am with my new hairstyle from Shane. Shane is a hair doctor! I've lived with frizzy hair all my life and Shane was able to look at my hair, diagnose my symptoms, and give me simple yet effective treatments (how and when to use water and a diffuser). I love the individualized treatment plan and I am recommending salon inclusion to everyone I know. I left the salon with the cut and style that I requested, but also so much more. Thank you Shane!!! read more

Since moving to San Francisco it has been a tough journey finding a stylist who could cut my hair consistently well. I paid $$$ going to all the top hair salons until I found Shane a few years ago. At that time he was working at a different salon, and each time he switched companies I always followed him. He's hands down the best stylist I've ever had! I have very fine hair, which makes cutting and styling difficult, but Shane always manages to make me look amazing leaving his shop. Thanks Shane! read more
