Very disappointed in HANNAH's balayage highlight, my hair is 2 SHADES darker. Found the "colorist" on Instagram. Showed her photos of her own pictures as reference.... Texted her the next day that I was feeling uncomfortable with the results. I was basically told to wash my hair until it lightened. Never had to wash my hair before it looked good before. Texted her back that I still was unsatisfied with the result. She told me again to tone it and that a negative review wouldn't hurt her business. I've attached photos of my hair before and after. I've always used purple toner to take out brassiness in my hair (which she texted me to do) however the photo I took in the salon clearly shows she put yellow toner on my roots. Her communication to resolve this issues was beyond unprofessional. I'm crying on my birthday about being a brunette when I requested highlights and paid over 300 dollars for her time. I reached out 3 times before leaving a review. Not once did she offer any help other than to tell me to wash my hair. Sad just sad.
Janina is a veteran hair goddess and she saved my hair from a bleached mess. I can't thank her enough and as soon as the salon is back to normal I will be in her chair to make my hair glossy and healthy looking again. If you've ruined your hair with bleach, try her to get it back to health. She's the only one I trust to make a drastic change to my look.
Ricky gets it right every time! I come in with ideas and he always finds ways to revamp my idea or add to it in a positive way. He is a color genius! He truly is a master at coloring. Thank you Ricky for helping me achieve the absolute best color for my hair, high and low lights. Ricky is well respected at his salon and in the industry. Anyone to say different is sadly mistaken! Check out my new color! Sam AI Hinnawi is the best colorist I have seen since I worked in a salon twenty plus years ago. I have serious respect for his knowledge and skills. My hair color was gold and over processed. I have been coloring it at home for years. I'm starting a new job on Monday and went to have my color fixed. Sam was professional and warm. He seemed very comfortable coming up with a plan for my hair and it worked. My hair has never looked this good. Look at his Instagram page and the before and after shots will blow you away. I highly recommend Sam and Alcheme Salon. The salon is modern and young. All the staff are terrific. Several people do a special Diva cut for curly hair. This is the second time they have saved my Covid hair for disastrous grow out. This time it was Guido and I have to say that I'm hooked! He knew exactly what my faded red locks needed and took the best care of them. My hair color is even from root to tip! Shiny and soft. Thank you Guido!! I'll see you in 6 weeks for another service.
I researched creative color artists a TON when I moved to SF. While I found a lot of colorists, I couldn't find a lot of consistent reviews and photos with a salon that uses Olaplex. Found Ricky at Alcheme through his awesome insta - he's got great pics of his work! Explained that I really liked that my prior lightenings had been done via "foilyage" - basically a balayage look but using foils and lifting to a level 8/9, which allows you to go longer between salon visits. Ricky explained that's not how he does his color but promised to blend it so I'd get a similar effect. I had a lot of grow out, but my hair was in good shape. Was surprised at how FAST this visit was. I'm used to a long visit, 6-8 hrs to lift my hair slow and steady w the Olaplex. Using his assistant's help, I was in and out of this visit in 3 hrs. The result? It initially looked good. Made for great insta pics, and was exactly the shade of pink I wanted. It was only once home that I realized there were a bunch of spots that were missed with color. I messaged Ricky and he had me back to touch up the spots free of charge. I realized later that there was still an area missing dye. As the color faded, the blended root did too, so that within a month I could see the "lines" where the bleach was applied. I keep the tones up myself so it's not horrible, but it's what I was hoping to avoid with the balayage approach. There was a large streak of hair that was left uncolored that stands out if I don't style my hair wavy. My hair texture also took a bigger hit this time than previously - takes a bit more love to keep it soft. All said, I might still give this place another go, but I definitely don't think this was worth the $450 price tag (color only, not including tip), and I would want the bleaching methods that worked better for me in the past.

Seeing that my hair growth was crucial, I reached out to Ricky prior to making an appointment. I asked my necessary questions and he answered them with ease. It has been about a month since I gotten my hair done by Ricky and with the proper care he mentioned, my hair still looks vibrant. Im very happy how my hair felt and looked after. He exceeded my expectations and knew I was particular about how I wanted it. Being that my hair color is a fashion color (emerald green) it is very hard to find a stylist who makes sure it doesn't turn out like garbage yellow green. Price point, I expected for like I said I reached out to him prior to making my appointment. I definitely recommend Ricky. I celebrate his attention to detail because my hair was on point.
We drove a ways for my daughters appt at Alcheme. Guido was the stylists who we had assigned to us. He did not dissapoint. Very nice guy, my daughter felt comfortable right away. Her hair was a mess when we arrived. She agreed to just let Guido do his thing. The guy knows his craft. Now I get a high and tight fade so I may not be the best to judge but he did a wonderful job on my daughters hair and she absolutely loves it. What more could I ask for? I highly recommend this salon. My daughter agreed it is totally worth it to come back here. Thank you Guido and staff at Alcheme.
Travis is the best! He corrected my horrible botched balayage from Joseph cozza salon and blended my pieces so well by maintaining the integrity of my hair. He is so personable and kind as well which makes you feel like you have a genuine friendship with your hair stylist! I always say the two most important people in your life are your eyebrow person and your hair stylist! Will definitely continue only going to Travis for my hair color always! Ben, the owner also made my entire experience so easy and enjoyable. He made my appointment quickly and made sure to pair me with the perfect stylist for me. The entire team at Alcheme salon is incredible!
I have found my new favorite place! Hannah is absolutely AMAZING at color. I have switched from traditional highlights and gone with the balayage on her recommendation and I am absolutely in love. Grows out so much more naturally and I honestly only go back every 6 months or so, that's how good it looks long term! Second time I went I opted to cut it all off and Hannah recommended seeing Travis. Every time I cut my hair I always regret it, but not this time! Seriously the best haircut I've gotten! Sooo many compliments. Also, Hannah takes pictures and seriously just makes you feel so glam and fabulous. KRISTA is a color genius and the only person I trust with my hair. I've been going to Krista since 2017 and for good reason - her skills, hospitality, and personality are far and beyond most other colorists in the area. She takes the time to understand exactly what you want and is always honest about the feasibility/longevity/maintenance you'll be getting yourself into. She's incredibly easy to talk to and has leveraged her natural relationship-building skills to accrue a loyal group of clientele who love to sing her praises (including, of course, me). Whether you're a blonde (her speciality), brunette/redhead/etc., she can make your vision come to life and do it in a way that allows for healthy grow-out with minimal stark color lines. Hannah G is BEYOND amazing, hands down the best colorist I have ever been to! I am super picky with balayage, I want it to be natural looking, but give dimension and depth to my hair. Hannah delivers on bringing my dream to life and then some! I get compliments all the time on my hair because she blends perfectly and finds the best tone to match my complexion. Over the years I've gone light, I've gone dark, I've been in the middle, and always leave feeling grateful to have her as my colorist. Hannah is AMAZING!! Super talented and extremely knowledgeable about coloring. She did a beautiful Balayage the first time in which I received many compliments. This time she covered all my gray roots, toned and highlighted. She suggested a highlight this time as my gray roots well blend in better and give me a longer lead time until my next appointment. I've been seeing Ricky since January and he's AMAZEEEE. I've seen him about 5 times now and each experience has been great. You can just tell he's really passionate about his work. Not only does he help me get my hair color exactly the way I want it, he cares about the integrity of my hair as well by moving slowly and intricately with the bleaching process so it doesn't damage my hair. Which in my opinion is a VERY important quality to look for in a colorist. This recent visit with him I wanted to try something fun and different with the purple roots and silver ends. All I had to do was show him a picture of what I wanted and he nailed it perfectly. Not only that but I can tell he had fun doing it. He puts his heart into his work, he cares about his clients and it really shows! read more

Sam is amazing! I was feeling pretty blah about my hair and needing a change. I decided to go for balayage. I consulted with Sam and we picked a honey gold color. It came out perfect! Let me first start by saying. THIS PLACE IS HEAVEN! I was traveling through San Francisco, called a couple salons hoping for a last minute appointment... no luck. I stumbled upon Alcheme Salon's website and gave them a call. The owner answered the phone and was so welcoming, she said that they had a cancellation and if I wanted to come in that afternoon they could fit me in for color and cut! I was ecstatic!! I was met by Krista, a sweet, kind, Uber-friendly hair stylist whose love for blondes met all of my wildest dreams! She got my hair healthy, shiny, bombacious blonde! Travis is a gem! He transformed my dull overgrown hair to something fun, sexy and vivacious! For almost a decade, I've been pondering having purple in my hair but have always put it off and kept my hair color on the safe side, using staying within the browns for highlights leaving it more "natural." As soon as you walk into the salon, you are greeted with a great smile and feel welcome. Everyone there is very friendly and will take care of you. Shelley has been the owner for one year and has made some amazing changes and is filled with clients all day. Guido has been in the industry for 25 years and will make you feel fabulous the entire time you're in his chair. He is very personable and has a great personality and really knows how to make you feel special. Caroline has been in the industry for a while also and is very nice and cheerful. She will also take excellent care of you while sitting in her chair and has been all around the world, which makes for great conversation. I explained to management I have a photo shoot on the 24th and that I will not be in SF as of the 21st. Unfortunately Sam, the person who was going to do my hair woke up feeling unwell. I appreciate him calling off work to not get others sick. He was trying to reschedule me for the 30th which is 10 days after my original appointment instead of referring me to someone who can actually help. This shows greediness. I was not given an option to change stylists and when I asked him to reach out to management before opening hours Sam tells me he's decided to not do my hair at all because all of his other customers gladly succumbed. and that I can reach out to management myself. At no point was I disrespectful but I explained everything that was not communicated properly between the stylist and management. Unprofessional Rude & Very inconvenient Will never come to this salon I'll gladly take my money where they don't have an attitude. I found my SF stylist! Sam squeezed me in on a Tuesday evening to accommodate my work schedule and turned my very yellow hair (eek!) to a beautiful beige blonde :D We all know how hard it is to find a hairstylist you can trust -- believe me I know -- which, is why I say.. go to Sam. The salon is conveniently located in Union Square with a comfortable and warm environment from which one can relax and enjoy the pampering. From years of being bleach and tone, Ricky handled my "I just broke up with someone, I need change" hair by giving me a more dimensional rooty blonde. Much easier, less maintenance and I loved the more natural look. Two years later, I of course want to go back to bleach and tone. Not just bleach and tone but I requested to be as "white as paper". Ricky obliged, and within three sessions we had it (I also think I lift easy, so these results are probably not the same for all) He did it in such a way it kept the integrity of my hair, with advice on how to keep it the blondest in between sessions and honestly my hair is longest, healthiest and blondest I have ever been. He is so great at creative color, and bombshell blondes. My only tip would be to book your next appointment prior to leaving your current, he does book up crazy fast (Rightfully so). Alcheme is on Sutter - don't be like me and totally miss the obvious door and signs... and circle around and around the block looking for it! Take the elevator up to the 4th floor and you're there. The inside is bright and beautiful - and smells divine. You get a warm welcome, a gown, and refreshments to prep you for your amazing hair transformation. The owner, Shelley (same name as me, so automatic cool factor), was around to welcome me to the salon. It comforted me right away knowing the owner is present, and she cares. Douglas gave me an initial hair cut, and I would've been just happy with that too! But Anastasia took my brassy hair and did her magic. Her balayage technique was perfect and my hair was transformed into a shiny beautiful 'do. Even though it took 3+ hours, she never showed any signs of exhaustion. I'm so happy my friend recommended Alcheme to me - I will be back often for my hair cuts and re-toning! read more

Hannah and Travis are the iconic duo! I haven't had colored hair in years and was hesitant because I had a bad experience at another salon where my hair turned completely orange. I showed Hannah a picture of a honey brown balayage and she killed it!! Travis then cut my hair and gave my dead looking hair some movement and life! They both are so amazing and sweet, and I just love them together. They're super knowledgeable and informative about how to keep my hair healthy and the do's and dont's after I leave the salon. Finding a great salon and trusted colorist and stylist is so hard to find but I think I finally found them! These pics are my first session and after a few months I went back to go lighter I'm currently in the process to go blonder and I can't wait! read more
