Booked a 9am appointment on a Monday morning. I was leaving for a conference that afternoon and needed a fresh cut, so timing mattered. I showed up at 9am and no one was there. They called at 9:10 saying there had been a mix-up and someone would arrive at 9:30. No worries, things happen. But 9:30 came and went and the shop was still empty. Extremely unprofessional. Sarah's been cutting my hair for over two years and every time it's great. Whether I'm trying to get a classic taper fade or I'm ripping the mullet, Sarah's my go-to! Went here several times and had good experiences. But after my most recent visit I was charged twice for one haircut. I called the business multiple times to request a refund, was continually told it would be no problem, but no action was taken. I eventually had to dispute the charge with my credit card company. Overall a very negative customer experience, would not go again. read more

Ivan is not the man! The barber that I booked (who is also the owner, Ivan) did not show up for the appointment. When I arrived on Sunday at 11 a.m., I was told he would come 2 hours later, which is obviously unacceptable and very unprofessional. I wanted to leave, but I really needed a haircut. So I tried it with Rafael and ended up with one of the best haircuts I have had in a long time!! Rafael is the man! It should have been a warning when my hair stylist, who I'd never met before, said, "Boy, do I have a hangover." They gave me the worst haircut I've ever had. I wanted them to cut it how it'd been cut before, just shorter. They changed my part twice and I ended up with short hair that doesn't lay flat on the back and sides and two different clumps of hair on top. They said they'd just started working there. Oh, well. The place seemed nice but I'm worried about trying someone else. Update: The salon owner got in touch with me to apologize for the service and offered to redo the cut! Got a beard trim and it looked good. Then at the last minute, the barber decided to even things out, and without warning shaved off most of the hair on my cheeks, making it look way too manicured and not at all what I had asked for. Similarly, I got a haircut and they took off three inches when I asked them to take off one inch. The place has a good vibe but the level of communication is hit or miss depending on which barber you see. read more

Rafael is a great person, good customer service all the times I have previously gone as he was the one always in the front desk. Deciding to return after having gone multiple times hoping for a change, the expectation was not met. Previous times barbers did not follow instructions, deciding to go their own route with the haircut. A simple haircut consisting of a taper was not achieved with multiple of their barbers, instead cutting the hair too short and not at all what I had hoped. Even when given images to follow which I would assume would give a good foundation did not achieve even relatively close to the haircut. The environment is nice and Rafael is greatly appreciated, but the haircuts are not near expectations. Even with feedback during the haircut hoping to establish a clearer understanding of the outcome, it did not come with the result I had hoped. read more

This review is for my son, who got his first barbershop cut today. I was nervous trying a new spot and so was he, but I can't believe the level of care and attention to detail we got here. Rafael gave my son such a clean cut and was so patient and kind. My kid is 5 with wavy hair and he's had some iffy haircuts at the Supercuts type salons. Barber and gent didn't have to go the extra step for a little kid, but they did and we are very happy. Thank you thank you Rafael!!! Jay was very nice. Super friendly. But everything else was really disorganized and just ... not good. First off - neither of the barbers were masked at any time while I was there. (The lady behind the desk was, so good for her.) Secondly, for the haircut, I asked for a skin fade (NOT a bald fade) and he used the electric razor halfway up the back of my head, which is WAY too far up and I knew was going to create a super harsh line. The fade is choppy and not great. I asked him to leave the length on the top because I know my sides grow out super fast, so even if that's not good it won't matter for long, but then he says he's going to even out the length. He cut up to an inch off of certain parts, and his shears were so dull he had to keep hacking at it to cut it all. So then I made the mistake of asking for him to put texture back in (because I don't want my hair to look like a helmet) and to use the regular shears instead of the texture shears (because my hair is dense and fine). He ignored me, used the texture sheers, and now it looks like my hair was cut by a wood chipper. I could chalk that all up to just a mistake with a new client, but then the guy after me checked in like 20 min early for a 12:30 appointment - and good for him, because he was called by someone who told him there was a scheduling conflict and he should come back in 4 hours. I was one of only 2 clients in the place. There's no reason the guy couldn't get his hair cut if he waited. But then my barber started rushing with me - didn't style my hair at all - to get him in right in at his time slot. Lastly, which is why I'm going all the way down to one star, they charged me for a $45 deluxe haircut instead of a $35 simple haircut (and I didn't get any straight razor work or hot towel), and when I bought an extra $15 travel tin of Reuzel, it was all yellow, crusty, and dry on the inside. This place is a mess. And Ivan, if you're reading this, I'm sorry I had to post this on a public forum. I honestly tried to see if there was a email or something on your website to message you privately. I'm not looking for a free haircut, and I'm honestly not gonna come back even if you offered. I just want you to look at this review and figure out how to run a better shop. read more

The guy last night was watching how-to youtube videos during my haircut and it was clear this was pretty much his first day cutting hair. Sad to say you should listen to the bad reviews on this spot. I made an appointment online with Ivan days in advance - confirmed via automated text messages. I arrive 10am for my appointment and Ivan isn't there. I eventually get a call from Ivan and he says "Ronaldo" will be there soon. I tell him I booked with you specifically and he says he doesn't work there anymore? Update your website! Be good for your scheduled appointments! I waited 15 min for "Ronaldo" to arrive and then left after I read other reviews complaining about this same occurrence. Walked out and made an appointment with Gent's Barber instead.
