The inside of this place is gorgeous and makes you feel like you're going to a great haircut because it's so trendy. And then my husband got his hair cut. Boy, were we wrong! The "stylist" obviously didn't listen because when we said a sort of faux hawk on the top because he spikes it towards the center, she cut all but an inch off! Worse than that, none of his hair is even. There are huge lumps all around his hair, and even strands that were never cut and are just sticking out. If you're going to cut hair, it's important to listen to your client and then pay attention to the details. We have to go to a whole new place to get this fixed...before anyone sees him in public. read more

I got my hair cut here a few months ago and my bangs are still recovering. This place was terrible. Sure, it was cheap but it was not with even the $20 that I paid. I asked then to trim the dead ends off and they didn't even cut a full centimeter off, plus they only cut some parts so me hair was all jagged and uneven. read more

Salon evolution is amazing! Great location! I have had tons of services done here and I would definitely recommend this place to everyone! I have had acrylic nails, gel nails, gel polish, hair cut and style, eyebrow and eyelash tinting, and permanent make-up for eyebrows and eyeliner. I'm definitely not a fly-by-night customer. went there for a mani and pedi. The pedi was OK, i regret having her try to put flowers on my nails becuase they look terrible. but the mani was really bleh. all they really did was paint your nails, no soaking, no scrub, no anything. Plus the girl smudged my nail while she was doing another (which is fine, that happens) but she put globs of polish on, trying to fix it, then smudged it again, put more globs on. an hour later that nail was still wet and I smudged it. Had to take it all of and redo them myself. read more

I am a local who has been going to this salon for hair and nails for a while. I leave happy with the services every time. However, the salon could be cleaner and the environment is extremely unprofessional. The last time I went in to get my toes done, Kevin, sat at the front desk computer watching tv very loudly! It was hard to relax and was shocking to see the example he set for his workers. Whether or not in will be returning is undecided. I'm hoping this is seen and changes are made. read more

I just got my nails done at Salon Evolution yesterday and the whole experience was HORRIBLE. The acrylic started lifting after only an hour on two nails, and today all of them have started lifting. The surface is uneven and pock-marked on two nails and the tips are so fat but the nail bed is thin, even after specifically asking for thinner tips. I'm very disappointed in the quality of work that I paid full-price for. They would have turned out worse if it hadn't been for me asking the girl to fix something every couple of minutes. To make matters worse, when I showed the owner what the end result looked like, she informed me that my technician has multiple complaints about her work on her record, and that my money could not be refunded to me due to salon policy. I was not informed about either of these facts when I made my appointment, nor is there a sign posted anywhere informing me of the no refund policy. When I insisted that I get my money back, the owner said I had to get my nails removed and then I MIGHT be able to get a partial refund, minus the cost of the supplies used. Is it my fault that my nails are messed up? No! It was a fight but I finally got what I thought was a full refund, plus she gave me a card for a free set- probably to try and repair my opinion of the salon. It didn't work. And instead of getting the full refund that the owner agreed to, when I counted my money later (I should have done it on the spot but I just wanted to get out of there) I found out she had given me a $1 bill, instead of $10!! I also found out later that the nail technician had never been fired, and I had been told she would be. If you want a decent manicure, this is NOT the place to go. read more

Maybe this salon should evolve into a place where you can actually get your hair styled. I'm posting this as a stylist with about 7 years experience. I moved from out of state and I was looking to find someone who was as great as my co-worker back home. I was looking to get a trim and a retouch, I showed the stylist 2 pictures of the color that I liked. The color does not look anything like what I wanted, she decided make it darker on the top rather than ask what I preferred. Rather than having dimension on top I now have dark blonde regrowth that doesnt look all that different from when I came in. The haircut was supposed to be a very slight angle to the front, it actually has a step in the front. It goes from long in the back to short in front. The exact opposite of what was discussed. There are long straggly pieces of hair that she looked at and commented on but decided they didn't need to be cut even though they did. I showed her exactly where I wanted my bangs, half way down my nose, and she cut them to my eyebrows. I would have said something when I was in the salon but she styled it and moved it around so that all of these issues were hidden. I didn't see the problems until I had washed it the next day. I would strongly recommend that you stay far away from this salon if you want to get your hair done well. I will not even be going back to get it fixed because if you can't get it done right the first time it's a pretty long shot it will be done right the second time. Don't waste your money and your time at this mediocre chop shop. read more

This is the worst salon ever to hit Rexburg. Poor Service and very poor costumer service. I went there to get hair extensions. I don't think Kevin had a clue how to do them. At fist we started with beading them in....he didn't know how to bead and ended up cutting the beads out of my hair because he could not get them out. He tried to google how to do the hair extensions. He had another styles braid my hair and sew them in....only to fall out 30 mins later....So at the second attempt the put elastics in my hair to hold them in. The next day they fell out again. After paying a lot of money to get these done at this salon....that had no idea what they were doing.....They offered no refund or apology for their poor service. I went around and show my hair to other salons that said this was an "absolute fail" I will end up taking them to court along with filing a complaint with the board of Cosmetology and the better business Bureau. You shouldn't provide a crappy service and keep peoples money!! Totally DISHONEST!!! read more
