I visited Salon East Hamptons for the first time today. I had the best experience with Ashley. They are all a team here, so I also had help from Val and Simone. My hair is super thick and long, but they all work so well as a team and tackled it together. I am so happy with the results. I also want to mention how amazing my hair wash experience was. I literally fell asleep in the chair from the massage chair and my scalp massage. Make sure you tip them too! Overall, I absolutely love this place, and I will be back when I come back into town. Thank you for the wonderful experience. read more

They offer Special price for blow outs with less experienced employees and then they up charge because the service took longer Meanwhile, my hair didn't change- the less experienced person is slower and they charge you an extra $5 for it They said it goes by the amount of time So ridiculous and rude There are so many other places to have a blow out in Hampton Bays I will never go there again for that I still love the color and cut service But to up charge a blow out because the hair dresser is slow is unfair!! read more

Today I visited Ashley again, not my first time, nor my last, since she is so good at her job. She is wonderful!!! I walked in looking so bad, and left a new woman!!! Ashley gave me a lovely haircut and perfect color touchup!!! She has a sweet, professional, upbeat personality and her price is right! I strongly urge everyone to check her out. You will not be disappointed. Do not hesitate. Summer season requires awesome hair! Good vibes here!!!! read more

For years I have been welcomed and treated professionally at Salon East. Bonnie and Ashley are my stylists/colorists. They listen to your needs and concerns, and I have never been disappointed. Bonnie is a true stylist, and knows exactly how to take care of my fine hair. In certain instances I have had to schedule my cut and color with another staff member, and have always left with job well done. Thank you at Salon East! read more

First, they did a good haircut. Second, they were very accommodative when circumstances required a rescheduling at short notice.

I moved to Hampton Bays from Queens over a year ago and continued to make the trip to my former salon, but the lengthy drive was just too much. I'm SO happy I found Salon East! Everyone was so friendly and welcoming, had a great consultation with Rosa. I shared a photo of where I'd like to get my hair and Rosa proceeded to give me the best haircut I've ever had, no exaggeration. Can't wait for my next visit where we'll add highlights. Five minutes from my home and I'll never go anywhere else! read more

I went for the first time and they set me up with Amanda. She was very attentive and friendly and gave me a consultation before proceeding to cut. I was a little concerned because it seemed she was cutting a lot but my hair was very heavy. When she was finished, I have to say it's the best cut I have had in years. It's looked great and felt so much lighter and plus it's easier for me to style. They have a new client!!!! read more

I understand they are appointment only but they do not answer the phone so I went over there just to buy some of their products and they saw me outside the door and never bothered to at least acknowledge me. read more

I went to Salon East for the 1st time in a long time and was scheduled for a haircut with Bonnie. It was a great experience from the moment I walked in. Front desk receptionist is very friendly and efficient. The person who washed my hair took her time massaging my scalp and the massage chair felt wonderful as she was doing it. Bonnie the hairstylist who cut my hair was very easy to talk to and she really listened to what I wanted before starting to cut. She did a great job and I'm very happy with my haircut! read more

I have to say, I am so glad that I went by my instincts & booked here. I read online reviews and took a chance after moving here f/t last year, and not knowing where to go. It is by far the best cut and color I've gotten in the city or out East.. The attention they pay to listening to you and then talking to you about their ideas is not to be believed.. I have gone to JoAnn, Val, & Amanda but watch their other stylists who also seem super skilled! read more

Best salon in town! The sweetest, most professional, and most understanding stylists available.

Professional stylists. They talk to you if you are new to find out what you would like to have done and if they think that it might not be the right thing to do for your hair they not only tell you why but also offer their advice whether it be a cut or color. They also do hair extensions that work so well for clients that might have hair that is getting thin or maybe just for a special occasion. I would recommend this hair salon to anyone looking for a new look or improving the look they already have! Friendly atmosphere as well. read more

I love Kelly at Salon East. She consistently does an amazing job with my hair color. They are great at keeping to their appointment times. Very friendly, couteous, and professional. Highly recommend! read more

Salon East Hamptons - Look at this gorgeous hair! - Hair Salons Near Me - Hampton Bays, New York

Salon East is a gem nestled in the town of Hampton Bays. I stumbled on it a couple of years ago because I broke my elbow and was unable to wash and blow dry my hair. Salon east embraced me and made me feel as if I were a life long customer!! Bonnie who I initially started with cut my hair with precision. After a couple of times I entrusted her to color my hair every month. SHE DID AN AMAZING JOB. My color never looked better. 2 years later I wanted to change my boring bob hair cut. Joanne the owner gently encouraged me to go for a new much shorter look. Her eye was amazing and I would never consider going to my old bob again. Now Beth cuts my hair- she is edgy without being over the top!! Love her creativity. Whether it's Bonnie, Beth or Joanne- the team there is creative and on top of their art. Wish I could give them 10 stars as a rating. read more

Val is absolutely the best hair stylist and colorist. I am so lucky to have found her after relocating full time out East. I only wish I would have found her, and Salon East sooner!! She is a warm and wonderful person, and the ultimate professional. I would give 10&&& stars if possible... read more

Val did my color high lights and low lights for the first time and JoAnn the owner consulted with her on what colors would work best for me and I absolutely love the end result! Val was friendly and accommodating as well as the entire staff in the salon! I felt very comfortable there and I'm very pick about my hair! JoAnn then cut my hair after as she knew that I am wearing my hair curly for the first time in years and understood what I am trying to accomplish with my hair and was knowledgeable and educated me on how to style it at the end! I had an amazing experience! read more

I will never go back here again. They've never got my color just right, even though I gave them the formula. I get my color done every four weeks and they want to cut it every time, even though I tell them I'm trying to grow it out. I have to be firm. But yesterday was the final straw. I was scheduled for a color and style. That's what I asked for. I get to my appointment. I tell Rosa again that I don't want a cut, that I just had a cut 3 1/2 weeks ago but that I still want her to blow it out. She must have been in a hurry cuz she put me under a dryer in a really uncomfortable position. You don't heat with my color. Then she takes me to another girl to have my color washed out. The girl, I think her name is Nia, is talking on her cell phone more than half the time while she's rinsing me. She asks me what else I'm having done. I said I was having it blown out. I think I hear Rosa tell her that I'm a color only. This girl takes me to a chair with soaking wet hair, sits me down, hands me a blow dryer, and opens a drawer that's full of brushes and tells me to pick one and dry my hair. I was stunned. Another woman sitting in a nearby chair can't believe this either. Her jaw drops. Top it all off... The color was wrong. WAY wrong. It might be because she heated it, I don't know but it was terrible. I had to used harsh shampoo to strip a lot of it off. Then I get to check out and they tried to charge me for a color, cut, and style. I question this. No one told her. So they had obviously still booked the time for me. I still don't even know what to say. This was a horrible way to be treated in a salon. Never again. I'll be going to the Wella website to find a new salon. read more

I wish I discovered this hair salon years ago! I've driven by this salon hundreds of times but I was reluctant to try it because I rely on reviews and social media when choosing salons and other services. I wasn't able to find a website or a single yelp review of this salon. When calling Salon East for the first time to inquire about their services, they were friendly and offered great advice. I immediately booked a highlight and haircut. The person who answered was able to suggest stylists and colorists that she thought would be best for my hair and needs. When walking in for the first time I have to admit I was a little scared. The space is dated and there is nothing glamorous about it. However, the staff was so friendly I wanted to give them a shot. Joanne (I believe she is the owner) gave me a quick consultation and instructed my colorist on what formulation to use. My colorist was so fast!!! I have a TON of hair and it has taken colorists hours to do a full head of highlights. However, Kelly (I believe that was her name) was fast and efficient. Their hair washing stations are comfortable and I love the Loreal hair products they use. When it came time for the hair cut, Rosa (I believe that was her name), was awesome!! She gave me the BEST cut I've had in such a long time. My hair came out so smooth, precise, and looking fabulous. I can't wait to go back! The atmosphere in this salon reminds me of an old fashioned beauty parlor. Not just because the space needs a little face lift but because all the stylists and customers chat with each other through their services. It's like a girls day out with your best friends. Even if you don't contribute to the conversation, you can sit there and listen to the conversations around you. I had many laughs while sitting there for a few hours. Their prices are very reasonable and you won't regret your look when you leave! The only downside was the cost of the products. I purchased a Loreal shampoo and conditioner, which I love. When I went to look up the prices on Amazon or other on-line retailers, the prices at Salon East were almost double. So go there for the best hair cut and color and purchase your products elsewhere. I can't wait to go back to Rosa and Kelly for my next hair cut and color! I highly recommend this place. read more

I started coming here when I couldn't get an appointment with my regular stylist at another local salon. My mom has been going here for years so I decided to give it a try. Although I could get an appointment with Beth that week, (she's the best!) you should always book in advance because she is usually booked up! I always leave extremely happy. All the girls there take the time to answer your questions about products and don't push you to buy anything that doesn't work for your hair. The girls at the salon are also really nice and get along so well, unlike most salons where you can feel tension and cattiness. It makes going there so much more comfortable. Now I don't wait so long in-between appointments because I actually enjoy going there. read more

Nice salon, and nice people. Prices are high, but you get what you pay for! Highly recommend Rosa--she is a hair queen! She did my hair for my wedding and it was stunning! A month ago a good friend of mine referred me to JoAnn. I went to her salon in Naples, FL. Not being a natural blonde I was skeptical since I have had such a hard time finding a stylist to get it right for me . JoAnn listened & then educated me and at the end of my color correction I was blown away on how awesome my hair looked. Today I went back for touch up and I'm even more in love with my hair and of course with JoAnn. Her knowledge on the actual science of hair color and hair is unbelievable. Everything she says makes sense . I totally trust her with my hair !! Thank you JoAnn. read more

I was in desperate need of a color correction after many years of unhappy color experiences at OTHER salons. My color (and cut) was a mess and I needed professional help from a salon that not only calls themselves color specialists, but actually are certified color specialists. I was referred to Rosa at Salon East, and had my first appointment yesterday. I can't say enough about Rosa!! She is absolutely phenomenal!! Rosa knew exactly what to do to correct my color; it took a lot of time and several steps but Rosa was patient and wanted to make sure it came out perfect... And it did... both the color and the cut!! Rosa takes great pride in her work, she's extremely knowledgeable about her field of expertise, she's friendly and warm, and very precise. The Salon is wonderful with a very comfortable and clean atmosphere, everyone was welcoming, and they are all quite experienced. There is a great sense of teamwork, pride, and friendship amongst the entire staff which is palpable. Rosa is my hairdresser for life!! I'm so happy to have found her!! Yesterday was my lucky day!! Give her a try, you won't be sorry. read more

Salon East in Hampton Bays, NY has, in my humble opinion, refined and perfected the art and business of the Salon. Every service imaginable is graciously provided by an expert, caring and elegant staff that ALWAYS go the extra mile to ensure that their clients are thrilled with their results and experience. As a full time resident of Southampton for 26 years, I have tried virtually every salon- from West Hampton to Montauk. But Salon East has that very rare, 5-Star combination of premium expertise, comfort, ambiance and, yes, Value! I could not recommend them higher. read more

I went there for the first time last Friday. My appointment was for a cut and color. This is the first time I was having my hair professionally colored. I have short fine hair and was looking for something a little edgy but not too crazy. Beth was my stylist and the result is amazing. She colored and highlighted my hair and gave me the exact cut that I showed her I wanted. I have never had so many compliments on my hair! She is great! I will be going there from now on. read more

I love Salon East and I've been coming here for years. All of the ladies are very talented and it's just a very welcoming environment. You can't beat the prices, I drive from Sag Harbor to Hampton Bays because the salon is so reasonably priced. The owner is nice and you can tell by the fact that all of the women there have worked there for many years that she treats her people well and they seem happy. read more

This past June my family escaped the Pandemic by temporarily leaving our home in NYC to stay at our house in Hampton Bays. My son is immunocompromised so we are limited on the places we can go and unfortunately my family lives a very isolated life. I called Salon East, explained my situation and asked if I could have stylist come to my home to highlight and cut. It had been four months since I had seen a stylist. Paul and JoAnn could not have been more accommodating and thoughtful. They made arrangements for me to come to the salon during off hours to limit my interaction with others. Val did an amazing job highlighting and cutting my hair. JoAnn weighed in throughout the process. I have not had an experience like this in years. Everyone at Salon East is thoughtful, kind and beyond professional. They all care about making the customer happy and satisfied with their work. I have been to Salon East twice since we temporarily located to the Hamptons and I expect to continue visiting the salon moving forward. Everything about this salon is superior to most of the salons I have visited in Manhattan. Thank you Val, Paul and JoAnn for giving me sanity during a time that is far from normal and for making my hair look amazing. You all hold a very special place in my heart. read more

WORST hair experience of my life. Went in for balayage and came out with yellow tacky highlights. I couldn't tell at first cause of the lighting in there but when I went into the sun I realized 200$ later that they completed botched my hair. Went back and asked to get it covered up very politely they gave me an attitude and said nothing was wrong with it. (Even though eventually people that worked there even admitted it looked horrendous). The owner which is the only person there who can actually color eventually covered it up after I had to start crying hysterically because the other employees were so rude and said nothing was wrong. I looked like a yellow skunk, they gave 0 refund, discounts or anything and we're flat out rude. read more
