Uyen added extensions and created a gorgeous bronde color. Over the years we've tried different looks, from very blonde to closer to my natural dark blonde, and I loved it every time! What impressed me the most is how healthy my hair stayed the entire time. After wearing extensions for over two years, I took them out for a while and my natural hair actually looked about 30% thicker than before (The thickest it has ever been). I just got a new set of extensions again and absolutely love them. I went from short hair to almost waist length, and this time we did wavy extensions to match my natural texture. It came out beautifully - the color matches perfectly and it looks very natural, even when I let my hair air dry without styling. Uyen is incredibly attentive and works very meticulously. She really listens and takes the time to make everything blend perfectly. I used to get my haircut from the owner, Freddy, who seemed to do a really good job at cutting, while also seemingly personable and talking to me about my day, and what's been going on. As time went on though, and considering how far I would have to drive to downtown and get a haircut, things started to fall off. I would always make sure to put myself down for an appointment but I would often have to wait for another client who he would be running over with on time. Once maybe twice is okay (I went for around 10 appointments or so), but it was pretty much every time I went I had to wait an extra 5-15 minutes before I was in the chair. Some haircuts turned out really good, and others were a little sloppy and seemed rushed since he was already over on his time and had to compensate somewhere, which I guess was sometimes me. I also went to try out the perm hairstyle and got it done by Sheila, but the perm was $200~ and ended up only lasting maybe 2-3 months despite delicate care in the process to make it stay longer. The way she did it also didn't seem to be the best since a lot of the curls were really loose even though I told her I wanted it to last a while (especially considering the price). Maybe I was the one-off that ended up not staying or looking good with perms, but I was pretty disappointed with it. Only thing I can really note that was good was that I think it helped with some texturing of my hair to not be so straight all the time. I believe the vibe of this location is good, but definitely got loud since they shared the space with 2 other businesses and also had a gym studio move in above them causing a lot of extra noise. I'm seeing now they have a new location (I only went to the old spot) which would make this issue hopefully non-existent. Since I always went out of my way to come get my haircut here, it was showing some serious diminishing returns compared to just finding a location closer which I eventually did after I moved. I believe Freddy and his team will continue to have success, but I will not be coming here anymore due to repeated issues I was having.

I'll never stop going to Sharla of SALON DELGADO! I'm probably the most difficult customer when it comes to hair. Jaded by low price, novice cuts/styling and color treatments over the years... I was skeptical I would ever find a permanent stylist I could trust. Sharla is amazing with cutting/styling hair. I have very difficult hair to cut and Sharla has done wonders. Prior to her, I had been to numerous "high end" salons and have never gotten a good haircut. Over the past 11 years, I've had long, gorgeous layers, a short chop, mid-length cut, bangs, no bangs. I've tried light hair, dark hair, solid all-over color, and highlights. When I moved across the country for school and could only visit once a year, Jackie patiently fixed up all the terrible "cuts" I received. She's even fixed my DIY bang trims...lol. My fave cut of hers has to be the layers she gives me. I love long hair but get migraines when it gets too heavy. Jackie takes my thick, heavy hair and manages to feel so, so light while looking so good. Jackie truly can do it all. AND she has the best personality! She is so sweet and also so fun to be with! I had Vanessa help me and the turnout was night & day of a difference. She was so meticulous to add the details to the bob and completely turned the color upside down. I appreciate both of them very much and now walk feeling giddy and so happy with the outcome. TY! Unfortunately, I had one of those experiences where you voiced and showed photos of what you have in mind, only to leave the place holding back tears because the end result didn't deliver. If you want a mediocre cut and ok color while paying normal the same as other places, by all means. I think her name is Jasmine and was so excited they booked me in the same day. She's nice by not someone I would ever return to. I already had an asymmetrical bob cut which I wanted a refresh on but clearly this wasn't her specialty. I've had bob cuts now for two years and other stylists use a tool to define and sharpen the edges but she didn't do that, therefore it looks like a cheap cut that makes me look like a teenager. I also requested partial highlights to be on the darker tone. I mentioned I didn't like caramel or light brown colors but more so of dark brown with chocolate tones. The color, for me, wasn't that at all and this is the part where I left there internally crying. I did express the cut looks nothing like the photos I showed her. And while she tried to use toner and a straightener to improve the look because she saw I was deeply unsatisfied, I'm going to have to go elsewhere to get it color corrected and the cut perfected. I entered expecting to leave feeling excited and instead left with a gutted feeling of regret for trusting a new place. I hate looking in the mirror and left with high hopes from the photos shared but mine didn't turn out that at all.

And so I end up going several months without getting a haircut and I look awful. A couple days ago I decided enough was enough and I was tired of looking the way I did. I've also been going through a rough experience with work at the moment, so I figured I could use a change that I had some control over. Out of the three hair salons I looked at, I decided to go here. I'm glad I did! Not only did the stylist give me a cut that looked good but it was quick and affordable...actually I paid much less of what I normally do! My hair is long so oftentimes a cut would be at least $55. I was pleasantly surprised it ended up being $35. Incredible! I'm definitely coming back here for all my cuts now!

I trust her completely with my hair. I typically request the full balayage and each time she kills it with the color! I can show her a picture of what color I want and BOOM like that she gets my hair that color. I have been a client of theirs for over 5 years now and I have never left not completely feeling myself (I coined the pet name "hair magician" for my girl Jackie). They are both incredibly, meticulously professional. They are experts at what they do and they make sure to stay on top of what's going on in their field. That being said, going to their ridiculously cute salon is like a moment, they always have the wine waiting for me and I always prepare myself for an especially good time. For the caliber of work that they do, their pricing is sure fair and actually quite cheaper than other salons in the San Diego area. They are always available for their clients...literally I text Jackie more than I probably should (late night single girl thoughts are not under her "services" nor do I pay extra for that). Anyway, what are you waiting for?! Don't pass go, don't collect $200, Go book either one of these hair magicians and leave looking like $200+....like now, yes now, no seriously go do it like now!
