I called a few salons and none could take me in, but when I called Capelli at 1pm - which I had known about because I walk it on my lunch break often, they were able to fit me in at 1:30pm for a trim! They said Nicole could take me in for a trim or I could wait for a more Senior stylist at 5:15pm, but again, I am impulsive and went for the sooner one before I changed my mind and let my split ends look any more haggard! The salon is bright, with big windows and a modern décor (and great music!). I was greeted right away by a receptionist, and then by Nicole, who was lovely. She asked what I wanted (the slightest of trims!) and ran a few things past me, like slight layers, and a conditioning treatment ($10) which I went for. She let me know what products she was using and what she suggested, and offered them for purchase at the end (though I've no doubt she made great recommendations, I passed as I wasn't intending to get to spending too much for when I am just going in for a trim (maybe if I was getting it dyed!). Nicole was great, talked and consulted me, but wasn't a chat-your-ear-off stylist, which I love, because I find getting my cut generally peaceful just watching and day dreaming lol. She did a great job, exactly what I wanted, and it looks and feels SO fresh, soft and shiny. My hair fell a few inches below my chest before the cut and is still below my chest...so I am thrilled! It cost $62 (not including tip) for the haircut and conditioning which I think Is very reasonable!! Overall, really impressed with my experience. Also love how she styled it simply (blowdry, slight straighten)...as the last two times I had gotten my hair cut (mind you, at a DIFFERENT salon), the stylist left me with god awful ringlets and I immediately put my hair in a bun! Super stoked for the result and will be back, no doubt!

No amount of praise can do justice to the passion, expertise and work ethic I saw at this salon. I had to fix my hair ASAP because I'm taking photos this week for my university department yearbook, so you can imagine my stress. The stylists showed huge compassion and took me in past closing (on Lunar New Year of all days!) and worked tirelessly on my hair until midnight! My hair now is even better and blonder than the reference photos I first used. I'll certainly come back, and in the meantime, I'll be recommending Song to everyone I know!

Colour turned out okay, and hair didn't feel super dry (haven't washed it yet) but I will NEVER come back again. Worst experience ever at a hair salon, very unprofessional and disorganized.

Splash came up and we called them to see if they had any availability. Right away they were able to fit her in. I'm not saying that will always be the case, but they did squish her in between some other appointments and made it happen, which really made our day! The owner is extremely friendly and professional; their covid protocol is great and he did ask me to leave a few times because they were at capacity and I was just a guest (which I totally don't mind because I respect their adherence to the rules). Watching them interact with us and other customers, you can tell they treat everyone with the same curiosity, respect, and thoroughness. They are great at what they do, friendly, and accommodating. My girlfriend's request was met positively despite it's complexity; I have definitely gone to other salons who tell you they're busy when they don't want to deal with you. I arrived a couple minutes early for my appointment and was greeted by Trevor. He asked what we would be doing [with my hair]. I had a blonde ombre look going at the bottom half of my hair; the top half was a reddish-brown. My roots, however, are a dark brown which were coming through and looking horrible. I explained that I wanted the reddish-brown to be dyed the same colour as my roots, but I wanted to keep the blonde. Essentially, I wanted a reverse ombre (ie. I wanted to make things as complicated as possible). Trevor was patient with me and understood what I wanted. He got to work on my hair right away and was a pleasure to talk to. He made conversation with me the entire time he worked on my hair, which is something I appreciate. When he washed out my colour, he asked what I wanted to do to my hair. I stressed that I just wanted a trim. He showed me how much he was going to cut before he cut it, to ask if I was okay with it. I agreed. He blow-dried and flat ironed my hair after and applied a split-end recovery serum to my ends (which I ended up buying with the help of a 30% coupon that Magicuts had). My hair looked fantastic when he was done with it! I also couldn't believe the price: it was under $100 (before tip, of course)! It's over a week later and my hair and colour still look great.
