Hands down, best salon hair cut I've had in a very, very long time. I haven't had a steady hairstylist for some time now and no, it's not because of my laziness. I decided to go to Salon De Franco mainly because of the review I read on yelp.com as well as the proximity to my home. I took a chance walking-in to the salon without making an appointment hoping to get squeezed in for that day and sure enough, I got scheduled later that day. The salon is super cute and cozy. I was fortunate to have Maricela as my stylist. She had a great attitude and we conversed the entire time. She did an amazing job with my hair and I've been getting so many positive compliments from my friends, family and co-workers. The salon also highly advertises "threading" services, which is next on my to-do list, so I will be yelping about it as that time comes. Horrible place owner is very rude. Cancelled my appt at the last minute and then lied about it

Marisela did a great job on my eyebrows. I spent at least 15-20 minutes each day penciling them in and now it's just a matter of using my Charlotte Tillbury amazing brows gel to control fly away's and I am done. I will post a pic with the top being before, the 2nd being immediately after, the third is after 4 days and the last after the pealing was done on day 8. Make sure to follow after care instruction, I didn't wash my hair so I wouldn't get brows wet, I used a damp towel to clean face and wore a hat outside for the first 5 days. I started to peel at day 5 and by end of day 8 was looking better. My retouch is in 2 weeks. Totally worth the $350 price. Price include retouch. Took about 1.5 hours, didn't hurt and I Marisela gave me ointment to put on brows for 5 days to keep the moisture. read more

The owner here kept answering her phone throughout my haircut and asked her daughter to wash my hair while she met with another customer. She did not seem interested in giving me eye contact or genuine conversation while cutting my hair. She seemed stressed about figuring out her appointment schedule while talking aloud with her daughter. She charged me over $65 for my haircut. I paid it and now I regret it. I was referred to Maricela from my in-law who has been a client for a number of years. Each time my in-law got her hair cut and dyed over the years it looked great I loved it everytime. I had not cut my hair in 9 years! I was growing it out due hula dancing and just loving my hair long. It was my trademark. I had been getting so bored and done with long hair and was ready for a change. I immediately asked my in-law and after checking yelp briefly and Maricela's Instagram for her work in was sold. I called on a Thursday and got my appointment that Saturday! She is by appointment only. Once my friend (made an appointment as well) and I walked in we were greeted right away. I showed Maricela what cuts I had in mind and was able to help decide which one to go with. She knew exactly what I wanted. After cutting my ponytail she sent me over to her assistant (didn't get her name, she was very nice) for a wash. I was then seated again with Maricela for the cut. She worked fast! I was then with her assistant for drying then with Maricela for styling. I was very excited for the new look! It was the best choice to go with her! I can't wait to return for my color!! Hair & cut by Marisela. I have gone to several places, and by far, she cuts the best layers. Immediately after getting my hair done by her, I received a compliment on my hair. The girl even asked where I got my hair done...and that's never happened to me before!!! Prices are a little expensive, but reasonable compared to other high-rated salons. Decided to give this place a try as I am still looking for a go-to hair salon since moving to Whittier. Ended up with a great haircut and the price was not that expensive. Went there a 2nd time for a bang trim & decided to try their threading. I will now go to this place for eyebrow threading since it is a lot closer to my house than the other place I reviewed. I would still go to either of the 2 places. She cleaned up the strands and did not take out too much hair on my brow. It looked natural. The owner and her daughter are really cute. Horrible the owner Maricela very un professional cancelled my hair and makeup appointment at the last minute when I needed too get my hair and make for winter formal she had her daughter call and cancel saying that she had something with her son. Really sad that it was a lie someone else called and made an appointment with her at that same time and she said she was not busy at that time. When I made the appointment wondered why she was available on a Saturday at that time all good hair salons are always busy on Saturdays very hard too get an appointment a few days before. I went in thinking I would have a good experience judging by the posts other people left and word of mouth. Maricela gets scissor happy..so if you're not looking to get extra inches than what you want off, think twice! I feel like this was the biggest waste of my money and time, I spent $45 on a haircut that I DETEST! Not only was it way shorter than I asked for, but now that it's growing out(and still looks horrible) the layers are all uneven and it's really difficult to do anything with my hair. I've talked to other people about it, and the've told me they have had similar experiences- "She cut too much off, and didn't even apologize when I said I was unahppy."; "She left me with Bi-level bangs, and they look so terrible I have to pin them back".When I told her I didn't really like it and it seemed too short she said, "You're in hair shock, you'll love it in two weeks." OK, well it's been longer than that and I still regret having ever walked in. I think when you're paying that much for a haircut, you should notice a high quality, if I wanted a bad haircut I could have gone to Fantastic Sams and paid $10 for it. read more
