I've been going to Papillon and having Joseph cut my hair for more than 20 years now, and I have no plans to stop! My parents both use him, and so does my husband. Since I have very fine, VERY dry hair, but always wanted it long, Joseph is the only stylist ( actually, artist) who cuts my hair the right way--that enhances it and leaves it long & healthy. I can keep it up with a minimum of fuss or daily damage. He can recommend the best shampoos & conditioners that won't break your budget or your morning routine for time. Consequently, my hair is long and shining and gets me tons of compliments. After seeing what friends have gone through with mediocre stylists who ruin hair (especially with damaging chemicals), I finally realized how spoiled I am (and my family is) by Joseph's talent & expertise. Yes, he's booked for weeks in advance but if you can be a little flexible for a first appointment, or wait a few weeks, you won't be disappointed. Add to that the fact that Papillon's is CLEAN, tastefully decorated, and that Joseph and the other stylists are genuinely nice people (Shirley does my eyebrows, too,and a wonderful job!), you won't find a better place than Papillon's. And yes, I do drive about 70 miles to go to Papillon's! It's worth it. THAT's how good Joseph is. read more

Lillian is the best! She has been cutting my hair since I was in 8th grade. I'm now out of college and she is still the only person I will go to. Lillian was referred to me by grandmother. Then my mother, stepdad , and my sisters started going to her. My other grandmother liked Our hair so much she started going to her and told my cousin to start going to her as well. Lillian cuts hair extremely well and gives you advice on what you should do with your hair. She tells you how to keep it healthy and what you might want to try. Today was the first time I have ever colored my hair and I was a little nervous. I took her the picture of the color I wanted and she perfected it! My hair actually looks better than I imagined. Joseph is a highly knowledgeable and comical fellow, he shared some facts about hair chemistry, and the do's and donts when it comes to how your diet and lifestyle effect the overall health of your hair. Joseph has been a hairstylist for about 40 yrs and I could tell with the great speed and precision with which he trimmed my dead ends that he really knew what he was doing. Mind you, I have very thick, long and wavy hair, something that many hairstylists have been hesitant to work with and I have to often been let down ... but when I heard about Joseph's experience, I just knew that he would work some magic, and he did! I have had the same haircut for as long as I can remember short and parted on the side but recently (and with the help of my GF) I decided it is time for a change. Apparently the type of hair and the shape of your head has a lot to do with why one style looks good on one guy but not the other....who knew? Shirley knew and I'm glad I found her.
