Kyle cuts my hair here. Been going here for over a year. I have long hair and Kyle's cuts last at least 6 months. They grow out great, which is a sign of a good stylist. I called to make an appointment Saturday morning and they were able to fit me in later that day although they were completely booked. I was super lucky to have Kyle as my hair stylist that day! I showed him a picture of what I wanted and he was able to replicate the color so precisely it's unbelievable. You can tell he's very passionate and knowledgeable about his work. He worked on my hair for hours and was super friendly! I absolutely love my haircut and the color. Coleman might be considered a Dr. of Hair! He is a true professional. Best, most thorough, hair washing / surprise, excellent scalp massage I've ever had! Charge up your phone, take some water, and eat a big meal so you can just enjoy and relax. He doesn't rush things, he does them right. Didn't stick my head under the heater for color, really let it set right. No color spill onto hair line. Clean and courteous. Thanks to him as he stayed open late for the appointment. Coleman himself is a sweetheart. Gave me three different menus to peruse for food in the area. Good quality products used, smelled nice, no oily or cheap finish feel. Will always go back here, yay!! After seeing all the fabulous Yelp reviews, I made an appointment with Kyle. My last stylist cut it too short after years of asking for shoulder length hair it was cut closer to chin length. I wanted to keep my layers and grow it back out, so went to Kyle. He was very consultative and understood exactly what I wanted to work toward. After the best scalp massage and shampoo he patiently took the time to clean up my ends and add some texturing to the layers. I loved the result immediately, but waited for it to grow a bit before writing a review. I have to say that after about 6 weeks, the style is holding, it's growing out nicely and thanks to Kyles cut, the time spent drying it has greatly reduced. Can't wait to go back! read more

I recently moved to the area and was looking for a new stylist. I have lots of fine light-brown hair that tends to turn into a big frizzball whenever it rains. Coleman did a beautiful job on the color and cut, and gave me plenty of tips on hair care and maintenance. His prices are very reasonable. The head massage and coffee was the icing on the cake. I was looking for a hairstylist and makeup artist around my area because I had a wedding to attend to and I found Salon De Coleman online. After checking out the cool website and reading the reviews on yelp, I thought I would give it a try. The Salon didn't open til 1pm but Coleman and Mabel were so kind enough to come in early just for me. I was really impressed by their hospitality and the salon was so trendy. I love the shampoo wash and the head/neck masssage. Coleman knew how I wanted to style my hair and Mabel did an amazing job on my make up. Overall I looked fabulous and my husband loved my look!! I will definitely come back for a haircut and possibly hair color. This will be my go to Salon! read more

Went in to cut off a few inches and long layers. Came out with choppy short ones.. My hair looked like the infamous "Rachel" from friends. I had long healthy hair now I have a choppy mess I'll have to spend a year growing out :(( I thought Coleman was going to guide me every step of the way and tell me what he was doing but he just did what he wanted. Don't recommend this place unless you're going in for an all one length cut, if you want layers you'll come out looking like a scene girl. I got a fire red ombre done by Kyle Chang, who was friendly, professional, and knew exactly the look I was going for. I even got a coffee while I was waiting for my hair to finish! Coleman is awesome! I've been going to him for my haircuts for over 5 years, and I've never been happier with the results. He's so exceptional, in fact, that I travel from my home in Brooklyn to get my hair cut by him. He always takes his time and is extremely meticulous about styling my hair. The layers always fall very naturally and I always receive tons of compliments. He's also very reasonably priced too! The salon itself has a really nice feel to it (I'm not crazy about the disco lights), but it's very modern and chic, and Coleman was nice enough to offer me some espresso or herbal tea. The only thing I would warn about though - do not get your hair cut here if you're in a rush. The entire experience here is slow and relaxing from beginning to end. I would recommend 100%! read more

From the moment i walked in to the minute i left everything exceeded my expectations. The cut, the color, the highlights were all gorgeous. The scalp massage was to die for, even the recliner chairs at the sinks made me feel like i was being pampered. I was looking for a salon that specialized in bleaching and coloring Asian hair for a very long time. I read yelp reviews about this salon and came in for an appointment with brassy hair done by other stylists and Kyle was very knowledgeable on lightening/coloring. The first appointment, I left with lavender hair which faded into a nice silvery blonde in a week and a half. The color was very nice, but not what I initially came in for.. I'm lucky that I'm a college student and unusual hair colors are permitted. If I was older and worked in a professional setting, I don't think I could've gotten away with it. The second time, I left with really cute, pinky hair. Overall, I recommend this salon, especially Kyle, to everyone who is looking to get coloring done. read more

I've been going to Coleman for 3 years now, starting when he was at another salon, and I was really glad he informed me that he would be opening up his own place. I previously had my hair cut by random stylists at various places, only basing my decisions on the price for cut, and I never thought I would settle for anyone in particular. But after being recommended to Coleman by a co-worker (Marynell), I never went to anyone else again! He's easy to get along with and truly understands what you want in a hair cut or style. He'll even explain how to maintain certain styles for when you go home and also suggest other styles that you can do when you want to play around. He will even go into details about how to properly use certain hair equipment, like curlers or straighteners or products (I am the worst at maintaining hair. I like it quick and easy, so I need a tutorial for when I need to look put together). I've gone to his new salon about 3 times now since it had opened in January 2013 and LOVE IT!! It is very inviting, with this very ultra modern, clean, sleek, simple and classy look. I liked the jazz music he would play in the background and how they offer a variety of different flavored hot tea during your session. It really sets a very calming mood. The scalp massage is great and since that was so good, I had to try his wife's facials and shoulder massages, which was equally amazing!! I am not one to do facials, as I was never sure how they were really supposed to be like, but the calming/soothing music, along with the warm towels, heated massage table, shoulders massage (esp on a Friday night after work) - really tops it all. Coleman and Mabel are an amazing duo. Very personable and really know how to make you feel comfortable and like family. They deserve more than 5 stars for their efforts in continuing to do what they love and for being so good at it. They are a very reputable business and I highly recommend their services.
