I've been going to salon dare for years. Mel and Hannah are experts in their craft. Recently they did all the hair for my daughter's wedding and we couldn't be happier. Everyone looked amazing. I highly recommend Salon Dare for all your beauty needs. read more

I've been taking my two kids here since they started getting their hair cuts. We always loved coming because they treated the girls so great and would always ask at the end if the girls wanted a braid, which they got sooo excited about! Well this time was different. The hair dresser seemed annoyed with the girls and didn't offer braids. This isn't the reason for the review. When we left I noticed how ridiculously crooked her hair cut was. I can't express the disappointment. We won't be back. read more

Salon Dare - Hair Salons Near Me - Hillsborough, New Jersey

Scheduled an appointment for 6 for two people at the same time with a specification that we both need to be out before 7. Showed up to our appointment to find out that there is going to be one stylist for both people who was busy working on someone else. Walked right out and won't be coming back. read more

Melanie is the best around. She's me hair soulmate. She gives beautiful haircuts and amazing color. Love this place!!! She is the first stylist I have ever had that never has to tone my blonde highlights. I really cannot say enough about how great she is. They are also amazing with kids. read more

Salon Dare - I let her cut all my hair off and wasn't even scared! - Hair Salons Near Me - Hillsborough, New Jersey

Rude receptionist!!! I went for my sons scheduled appointment and the receptionist was just terrible. She was trying to tell me how to spell my own kids name because she booked the appointment for the wrong kid. She then flatly said his appointment was in a half felt hour, which wasn't what she told me on the phone when I scheduled it. I was nice about it and was just going to come back, but she was just rude and didn't even apologize for either error SHE made and her smug look just made me cancel and not want to return. Not worth the attitude for a 7 dollar haircut. read more

I only gave them 2 stars brcause my daughter had a nice haircut/experience. However when I got my hair highlighted it was a total disaster. The stylist was supposed to be anexpert in hair coloring... She left me with the foils on for hour and a half without checking my hair once! She took 5 clients in between!! Unheard of! The color leaked leaving me with few spots on top of my hair. Needles to say my hair got damaged and the color was othing that I wanted. read more

About a year ago I walked into this highly recommended salon and they didn't have any one available to cut my hair. I was a "new" mom of an almost 12month old and hadn't gotten my hair cut in over a year. The woman who I would learn to be the owner asked me if I would wait for ten minutes and then she washed and cut my hair personally. I felt like a new human being. I have been getting my hair cut here since and have loved every single trim and cut. I haven't gotten a single bad stylist yet and have had my hair blown out a few times as well. Just got cut on Friday again and feel like a million bucks! read more

An incredible salon. This is the only place I will go to! Erin cut my hair back in May and I couldn't have been happier. She gave me tips about my hair type and how to keep it healthy. I told her about how my hair gets far too many split ends and it's constantly dry at the ends (a real curly hair problem). She gave the best tip ever and I'm so thankful she did! - use coconut oil! This has been a real lifesaver. My hair has never been this heathy, alive and bouncy. She is the best! read more

Had a total hair disaster and the staff at Salon Dare were the BEST!!! This was my first time going there and I will definitely be going back. The color and highlights are perfect and I love the cut. I have already gotten so many compliments. If your looking for a new salon go there, you won't regret it. read more

A total disappointment of a place! The hairdresser Melanie has no real stylist skills. I asked her ever since day 1 for ash color for my hair but instead she gives me highlights that has Orange and red undertones.. Not really ashy as I asked for. She said it would take a couple of times.. But that's bullshit. She said it in order to have "ashy color" you have to do highlights and color when I never wanted to have highlights in the first place! Very careless and not a professional hair stylist. read more

I adore everything about Salon Dare. I've even convinced my boyfriend to get his haircut there with me and he won't go back to bargain cuts ever again. As a woman with short hair it's very important to get a quality cut and they never disappoint. Hands down the best salon ever. read more

Salon Dare is the best around. Not only is the entire staff superb at what they do, but they are warm and fun to be around. Mel, Cara, and Erin have a wealth of haircut and coloring skills. They are masters of their craft, and know how to please their customers. Robert is incredibly fun, funny, kind and helpfu!. I want to go to a Salon where I know I get a great haircut every time, I don't have to worry about it. I also want to be somewhere where I am comfortable and can relax! It's really like going to a well known bar (Cheers) "Where Everybody Knows Your Name"! They know how to make you feel beautiful AND at home. I double DARE you to find anyplace better than that! read more

I went in with the intention of getting my hair dyed a caramel blonde color. I have had it done in the past at other salons so I didn't think it would be very difficult to achieve. However, the lady who did my hair, seemed to not understand what I asked for. Instead of dying my hair, she gave me bleach blonde high lights on my top of my brown hair. Very disappointed with their service. read more

Made an appointment a week in advance and told the girl on the phone to tell me what time would work for them, I came promptly at that time with my 5 year old and not much was said to me except "it may be a little bit" there were only 2 girls working. Someone could've called me and told me not to drive, waste my time and get there on time to sit there and wait god knows how long they would've had us wait...I wouldn't of minded it if it were just me, but having a kid with me -- it just wasn't right. And not the friendliest woman I've met either..... read more

I had an absolute hair disaster, from a previous Salon. I showed Melanie a picture of a style that I was interested in. She was able to achieve the look that I wanted, even with my previous botched cut. This is the first time in my life that I have showed a stylist a photo and got EXACTLY what I wanted! Melanie is a master at her craft!! Her salon and staff are so friendly and welcoming, simply THE BEST! If you are looking for quality service, visit Salon Dare!!!! read more
