We didn't end up going for some reason, but I did just get my haircut and it was $45, including taxes (not tip). It was even more expensive for a friend with longer hair. And after we paid, I was kinda embarrassed 'cause I had told her that it was $25. I think even $35 would've been ok, but it was almost double what I initially quoted her! I have a regular stylist downtown, but I just haven't gone to her for the last coupla cuts due to proximity. She is $33, all in, and will spend approx. an hour cutting. Anyway, Paul did our cuts. They were quick and to the point. He just needs an idea of what you want. There is no long consultation process. At times, it was difficult to chat with him 'cause of the blow dryer. I liked the results, but won't fully know 'til I wash my hair myself. Again, the only issue I had was cost. I should've just ask prior to the cut, but assumed what was quoted to me a few months ago. It seems like a lot of their clientele, especially during my visit, were older, European women, so I'm sure their cuts aren't $45, but closer to $25.

I booked in advance for my haircut with the younger-theish woman stylist who had done a good job…read morethe first time I went there, even though I found the female stylist's attitude unfriendly and she was late in getting to me, never apologized and at one point I asked her if she was even really interested in doing my hair. She did an ok job so I booked her well in advance for a refresh cut at Christmas. She was over 40 minutes late from the 15-minute leeway I gave her from my original booked time. At one point I asked another hairstylist that wasn't busy if they had time to do my hair. Then she cut my hair so fast and with so little indifference, it was a terrible cut. Waaaay too short. And now I have the task of having to grow it out again. This woman needs to know she is in the service industry and needs to be professional about booking and keeping her appointments. She also has to drop the pout, drop the attitude, and drop feeling like she's doing you a big favor even doing anything with your hair. And instead of cutting so fast she needs to slow down and really think about what she is doing...because this last cut was HORRIBLE and by the time you see the damage she's done, it was cut so fast, she can't self-correct her mistakes. If I were the owner of the shop, I would not let her have a chair there anymore quite honestly. She is doing that business more harm than good with her attitude.

Have you ever had that experience when you walk into a salon feeling drab but walk out feeling like…read morea beauty queen? Yeah, that happened here. There may or may not have been twirls in department stores afterwards. I wanted a new do and mustered up courage to follow through. I needed some sort of change in my life and the most logical thing would be something that grew back - like hair. Piercing an appendage or limb was plan B. I have gotten my hair cut with Katherine quite a few times. She knows exactly how to frame my face in a flattering way. For a while now, we had discussed coloring or balayage and I was finally ready. When it comes to hair, I get a bit nervous making big decisions but she asked me what I wanted and then gave me her opinion on something we could try. She said it would be easy to change with a simple toner if I didn't like the look. There was no need for that. It was spot on and my hair looked fantastic. It still does! She gave me highlights and low lights to produce a balayage effect. With my coloring, I didn't want too much blonde but more something ashy. It's also perfect because she managed to give me something that grows out well and doesn't need the most maintenance because my schedule can get hectic at times. I look great and feel great. It's funny what a small change can do for your confidence. One thing to note is that the prices are on the higher end but you get what you pay for. It was a big up front cost for my hair but it'll grow out well and maintenance requires an occasional toner and cut. Definitely quality services offered here so if you don't want to risk messing with your hair, then definitely try TonyC!
