This was my first time in quite a while going to a professional salon. I'm always nervous because it often seems when you have long hair that stylists see that as an opportunity to make some dramatic changes, which is great if that is what someone was looking for, but since I was not, it made me apprehensive. The gentleman who booked the appointment for me assured me that P1 was known for listening to his clients. I was still nervous when I walked inside the salon, but P1 instantly made me feel welcome and put my fears away. At one point, I think sensing I was a bit uncertain, he came around and sat across from me so I could understand that he was there to listen and not do something I didn't want. P1 did a wonderful job of explaining some things about the characteristics of my hair, and also speaking to some practices he recommended. He was friendly and tremendously personable. I walked out feeling appreciated and happy with my hair. While I sometimes wish I was the type of person who could walk into a salon and say, "Surprise me!" that's just not me...but whether you are the type who is looking for something adventurous, or just someone wanting a slight change, you will be in wonderful hands with P1. The most frightening aspect of a new move is finding the RIGHT hairdresser: one who is supremely knowledgeable and up-to-date with their techniques (so you don't leave a salon with a 90s hairstyle), one who is experienced in all hair types, one who will be HONEST with you- even if it means they send you away because you've opted for something that is not possible/reasonable, one who will listen. I found Salon Bravissimo on yelp and was reassured by their website, their products (Oribe and Kerastase), and information on team members. I successfully managed to be a last minute add-on to Robert's schedule. I am so pleased to have found him! He is amazing! I love my hair. I will absolutely return to him in the future. The prices are definitely better than bay area prices- so, although higher end, the value is worth it in my opinion. The location is kind of hidden in a back-parking lot which I found difficult to find initially. The salon itself is lovely: they offer the hairdressing robes and beverages (including wine, coffee, tea, water). The front desk staff is friendly. The bathroom is clean. I came to this salon 3 times and each time the hair dresser would increase the amount owed for the same services. Also, when I would ask for the breakdown of services she put a calculator in my face, typed the numbers quickly and would passive aggressively and briefly explain it. On top of that she asked me to pay in cash each time because it was easier for her. Additionally, she burned me with either the water while washing my hair and/or the blow dryer. After she went on leave for over a month and didn't recommend anyone else who could take her appointments and realizing the conversations were all about how her life and how "hard" it is---I will not be returning. I am posting this as a warning for new clients who may see this specific hair stylist to ask for the breakdown of services, and don't give in to paying in cash---I don't appreciate the hustling and feel that I was taken advantage of by this salon. Hopefully the manager of salon can get to the bottom of her unprofessional antics and change the behavior. read more

I have benefited from Salon Bravissimo's spa services including new infrared red light therapy. I waited to write a review after atleast six weeks of 15 minute red light sessions 4-5 times a week. As a 72 year old I suffer from chronic pain, rheumatoid arthritis and other age related conditions. I noticed significant improvement in all areas and plan on making red light therapy a part of my health and wellness routine. I have reduced use of pain medication. Pain levels decreased, skin and sleep much improved. I will continue red light and am grateful for the "infrared" option as all red light therapy is not the same.
